The Karman Ghia has crazy camber because it's missing it's engine, I've seen enough VW's to know this. The rear swing-arm suspension keeps the wheels vertical if there's the weight of an engine back there (and if it isn't lowered), otherwise the rear lifts up and gives you the effect you saw there.

And as far as the "hood pins" go, those are there most likely due to a bad or missing hood latch. Jeep used similar ones for their CJs and YJs to hold down the hood (rather than a hood release system), and my dad's Baja Bug has some rubber ones to hold on the fiberglass trunklid (no latch or hinges).

Ok here are some pics I got at GoodWood.

Looks very similar to the ones they used to dunk a Porsche engine in the back of and replace some of the steel bodywork for fiberglass. I read an article once that someone was restoring the one that Mario Andretti began his racing career in.

Love Karmann Ghias though, gorgeous cars. Nice spot :)

I just looked that up, thinking they may have been a Jaguar-based company.

Lister were a sports car manufacturer in the 50's and 60's. Some of their cars used Jag engines. The marque was revived in the 80's and they built some Jaguar XJS's with heavily modified bodies and engines - which were probably used as the basis for the Lister Storm engines.

Goodwood already?! Looking forward to everyone's pics, then. :)

At the risk of having missed a heavy dose of sarcasm, I'll point out that they were taken at last year's Festival of Speed, in July.

No my apologies. hehe they where in deed for 2007, I just posted them without reading the thread properly. They should be posted in general pics realy.

Nope Glanza, it was pretty much 100% Lister. :)

Today, saw a brand new Mazda6. Looked pretty good; makes me eager to see a Mazdaspeed model now. No pics, as he was following me, and I find it difficult enough trying to drive in coming-home traffic without trying to take a picture in the rear view mirror.
