The old car is a Humber (posted before) and I dunno what trim the Mazda 6 is, I'll pop outside and take a photo when the F1 has finished.
humber, heck, have never heard of that one before... O_o
"wikis"...
while I wiki the thing... POST!
First, this car appeared like this a block from my house, I said Ācool, another cool neat old car abandoned near meĀ, and even better as it was very rare here mid 70s ( I think) BMW 7 series, freaking rare as BMW arrived at the country just 15 years ago or less, so this was weird.
Then, I saw it like this, Āwow, TheyĀre fixing it up!Ā
And then, wham! Fully restored with itĀs intact trim! Came out pretty good for having been restored in the walkway. Pity I could not get a pic of it with full chrome original wheelcovers, those came on later, then the car diaspeared, presumably to go to its new owner.
Very very nice 1970 Ford Mustang fastback with 428 Emblems but a 351 Cleve underhood and a 4 speed, cool real Cragars, wider rears of course, traction bars, but the feature that caught my eye were the ground effects of sorts attached to the sides and rear of the carĀ
WTF? Who does this to such a car? IĀd still drive it, but come on, its no HondaĀ
Also, waaaay rare here, no fastback Mustangs were sold in mexico before 1971, the very few that indeed are here are extremely sought after and incredibly expensive.
Ouch. This 3-series was crashed then taken to they body shop where it sat outside for months, until one day it was gone.
This is how I found this Datsun some 6 years ago,I re-found it again in the exact same spot with 4 flats, a picture I already posted.
Very cute mid-60s two-tone VW Bug complete with wood roof rack and whide whites, and awesome, very vintage colour combo. Id so daily drive something like this.
Some HarleyĀ
been a while.
Buried 1970 Duster abandoned under a house, nothing really special (slant-6 car) but the place seemed weirdĀ
Very old picture of a tattered 54 Ford coupe, the car has since been put into storage in a nearby garage; the black hood behind it was a Mach 1 Mustang of which, for an odd reason, I have no pics of whatsoever.
A 1956 Chevrolet 4 door which I captured because of the chain and lock holding the doors shut (inset pic). Lol.
Stupid big Olds two door, very rare here, never were these sold around. I cant see how I could mess up such an easy pic to take.
This was cool, this vintage BMW motorcycle was the daily transportation of a teacher at the UNAM (public local uni, where my girl-then-now-wife studied),the guy was a philosophy teacher and had a looong gray beard and hair, and always used a pair of vintage, real-deal googles; the thing was loud as hell too. It was always fun to see him arrive.
Also at UNAM, someone had way too much money and too few brainsĀ
at least the wheels were nice.
Oh man, this will be hard to come by again, a Borgward in good shape! This automaker closed doors in UK in the sixties and the Mexican government bought the tooling and started Borgward de Mexico, a federally financed automaker, but soon the costs piled up and the production ceased. Very limited production numbers, you can recognize them because they have an Aztec calendar in the steering wheelĀs horn button, like this one.
A JeepWagoneer Alpina, donĀtreallyknow whatit means the Alpina badge, but it caught my eye. That, and the fact that it was abandoned. Anyone knows what it is for sure?
Way rare Peugeot 406 wagon, these are extremely difficult to find, you can find the cars with certain ease, but a wagon is the rarest stuff (next to the ragtop,of which IĀve seen one in my life) and this one was in decent shape, very restoreable, and way unique.
A row of late 50s European Ford Taunus,a very rare car here in Mexico, only sold in latin America through your preferred Ford dealer, brought directly from the UK or Germany,if I remember correctly. These are now just rustbuckets, but quite the spot none the less. I think they are 57s.
Cant do without a smidge of rice, and what better than an already horrid Nissan Almera to start? You can only make it better, right? Say again:
Now, this, more than a riced Bug, is a testament to the ownerĀs incredibly stupid ingenuityĀ
WHAT THE HECK are those tubes doing there? Ram Air? Tuba Induction? Yeah, to the spare tireĀ
I dunno, this was so weird. It just needs a hose.Red bumpers, ownerĀs name written, ScreamĀ
pish posh.
