OK...I knew about the performance pack - but didn't know it was also called the safety car pack.

Anyways - I have two reasons why it WOULD be the SL55.

1. Most (and I say most - not all) SL65 AMGs have tinted wheels
2. If you compare the side front fender badges for the 55 and the 65, you'll notice the 55 is longer is says supercharged (or something). The badge on the SL55 shownm in the pic is too long for it to say Biturbo.

Yes! That's the reason, I remember the Biturbo badge thing. So, both are SL55's with the safety car option pack. Sorted.

Very nice Joey 👍

Nice cars behind the Skyline.

You should have seen the Gallardo with aftermarket wheels and the 360 Spyder in the store. They don't let you take pics in there, though.

Thank you Turbo Lag for the compliment. I have been blessed to see both a white and black GT-R in the rain. -kevin

I love the paint on the first mk4. it almost looks like primer but somehow it works. I'd love to see what kind of wheels it had. hopefully something black.

He blew all his money on the Ferrari and can't afford a new Xbox now . Nice spot.

SPhilli, any good spots from inside the show? That lowrider's awesome. And white's a good color for the Challenger.

Saw a few things today.

That looks awesome, but what's with the indicator? And any idea what the brake light says?

Thought I'd post this from last week because of how awesome the colour is;

Really wish I'd have gone for that colour now, it's very rare anyway and they've just discontinued it so it'll be even rarer now!

to sum it up, both of the silver SLs posted are the performance package, very interesting spot but probably not as rare as the SL65. Just FYI never try to guess what model you're looking at by the AMG badge or the wheels, most MB dealerships are all too happy to let you pick your wheels and toss in an AMG badge if you wave some extra green under their nose.

Those LM's with the red center caps look killer. 👍

Not too fond on the front lip though. Maybe molded and painted to match the body colour...

The license plate on the GTR was "STIG" and the plate frame said "My other car is an R34 GTR V-Spec"...awesome.

***Not my photos!***

Are those Endless brakes? That's the most unique slot pattern I've ever seen.

I was just about to ask the same thing, I was in NJ for the Rolex grandam this weekend and I noticed most of the race cars have the same pattern, what's the advantage over cross drilling?

cross drilling is prone to shatter under intense heat, normal slotted are good but this pattern would be better for dissipating heat. Another pattern ins the kangarood paw pattern and that has excellent heat dissipation and strength under large tempaerature.

I saw my first Audi Q5 today. They look really nice, and smaller than I thought. I took a pic, but I don't think it's still worthy of posting.

I could use some BIG pictures of that car to pirate the wheels for some photoshop... could someone provide? 3000 pixels wide at least, and not so distorted? (:

in the meanwhile...

I almost cried. This is a real 1970 El Camino SS, it has 454 emblems but sports a mild 350 underhood, along with the ugliest wheels ever designed, but look at it! Its sooo minty… this car needs a new owner, one that will put proper wheels and cubic inches in it.

Look very closely. You’ll see a small hole at left of the air intake. it was for a hood tach. That has led me to believe this car might be one of a handful, a HANDFUL of Shelby de Mexico Mavericks, yeah, you read right, there was a Shelby de Mexico and it made a few Mavericks with 11:1 compression 302 engines and four speeds, along with various aesthetic enhacements, that included precisely a hoodtach and hoodscoop. No one knows if one is alive, none has ever been registered as being a Shelby Mav, but we can only hope. Drawback? This car has since disappeared.

Absolutelyenormous1975 Lincoln Continental in very sad shape. I could not believe the size of this thing. Enjoy the rustfrom taking off the vinyl roof.

Now, this is something you wont see everywhere else. Betsabe Romero is an artist that does object-art with car parts, and was commisioned by a pretigious hotel to do over this Chevy Sedanette into a street ornament that sits outside. Its got painted wheels, new “power” (look at the rear fender) and a new choffeaur. Its one of the most eclectic automotive spots you’ll ever see.

Oh,yeah. Extremely rare Ford Thunderbird, never officially sold here and quite a solidexample, indeed. I think this is the best Thnderbird design ever done, even better than the 55. Well, I dunno, but it sure is handsome. I’d so rock it daily.

Found in a parking lot somewhere. Says “No Rolls Royces allowed”; pure sarcasm obviously, Rolls are nonexistent in Mexico.
uio011.jpg

Blingey Dodge Ram Daytona with chrome wheels; I was not even aware this was sold here, but it’s true. Ugly as sin. And pointless.
uio014.jpg

Yet another absolutely gigantic Continental, this one in better shape but still sad. Restorable, tough, but who would? Interest in these is dismal.
uiok002.jpg

Another giant, this Monaco is a repost, it transports stuff used for a street juice store, and in this caption you can see it’s mangled rear.
uiok007.jpg

Very well restored Mexican 1968 Plymouth Barracuda, 318-4speed, with the most stupid wheels ever. Very, very straight. It also needs another owner that will put proper wheels on it.
uiok009.jpg

Abandoned Cobra kit car, was there for the best part of three years then vanished. Maybe it finally got done over… or trashed.
uiok014.jpg

Horrid picture of a very cool 1965 Mustang 289 ragtop, way rare here, only a handful were sold under special order.
uiok017.jpg

Well, I know, but these aren’t sold here at all, so it was strange to see one.
uiok023.jpg

Rice this time, only a horrid VW Bug.

Great pics from everyone as ever! This thread just keeps steamrolling along.

Unfortunately, I'm not going to be able to post any more HK pics for a while as I have just come out of rather unpleasant emergency surgery and have to lay up at home until Monday, then it's off to the UK for a month to see my family. So, I look forward to everone elses spots until then!

That Element is on Illinois plates, that's kind of a far drive to Mexico.

And hope all goes well Rue and you have a speedy recovery from you surgery. And have a safe trip back to the UK.

I saw my second GT-R yesterday.. This time it was white, lowered real low, had a fat spoiler in the back. Also saw a pink Roadrunner and a late black Charger. EPIC. To bad I was driving and they were going the opposite way...

EDIT: Forgot, the new body Mustang is super popular... Damn, I saw atleast 15 of them on sunday. Also saw a totalled one this morning... Damn.
