Some from the past few weeks:

Don't know much about mercs, so dunno if this was a rare AMG model or what (usually I see SL's that are AMG).

An AC cobra, probable replica I dunno heh.

Lucky pic I got at the car park exiting silverstone.

image015mp6.jpg

RS4 show car.

image006nm4.jpg

Porsche Carrera Cup car up close (the disc sizes are amazing).

image003si2.jpg

Dave Pinkey's "Pink My Ride" Honda :) .

image005vr8.jpg

A Lexus done for the day.

image008tt9.jpg

TVR at work.

Inside.

An Ultima at the garage, with the new distributor in front of it. Horsepower's apparently been upgraded from stock before.

image016rq7.jpg

Front of Ultima, with TVR behind it. The dirt is probably from its trip to the Le Mans classic. Also you can see the custom front "scoop" that was created to help stop overheating - the rear wing has been taken off here.

i went to a shopping village and saw

flying spur
maser coupe

quattroporte (no pics sorry)

the other pics will be posted

My first one ever,a 911 GT3 with chrome rims:yuck:

911GT3.jpg

I sad to the guy "thats a very nice car you have there"

His response:" it took me a long time to save for it"

Still a nice car none the less

Is that a street outside the Spyker dealer (with the Mountaineer on it)?

If so, do you realize there's a DB7 Volante sitting on it?

It's a gated path to the garage. And yes, I tried t get a photo of the DB7. It didn't turn out well through the window, and it is an employee's car. It'll probably be there again next time.

No worries, saw 1 yesterday with aftermarket as well.

It's loudness though, made up for that.

The 911 GT3 is a decent sighting, but *McLaren*, why didn't you post any pictures of the Murcielago sitting next to it?! You're missing all the good cars! :D

He probably posted it here. He wouldn't put it here as it was at a dealer.

Yep. I could post it here since when you do expect to see Lamborghinis at Porsche dealers? But given the rep. of this dealer always having high-dollar Porsches, it was non-surprisingly.

opendriver, that violates the fifth word of the thread title.

What, is that not good enough for you? Do I have to waste my lunch hour to go spotting for super cars now?:dunce:

It was rare in my small (50K people) town ok, im not getting all of the high end cars like Bentleys and skylines. Yeah sure I might see a Ferrari every now and then, but theres also a guy that has an elise as a daily driver that 4 houses down from me. Everyone else is setting the bar to high...

I think he was referring to the alloys. It's a great sighting. 👍

I'm sorry, but oversize chromey wheels on a GT3 is sacrilige. Someone call the Inquisition.... I can accept it on a Turbo or other 911, but on something so focused as the GT3...just spend your $100K on something else.

I've got a whale's tale. Or a quest for a white whale. Thar she blows, it be Moby AMG!

Mercedes-Benz CLS55 AMG - nearly every day for a year, I've seen this car pass opposite me on the highway. Finally, I was going in the same direction. Five seconds later, he went north on i95, and I left south. Caught my white whale.
Mercedes-Benz CL55 AMG - just keeping the Mercedes' together.
Subaru Legacy SUS - M5Power asked for this, I think, and I finally remembered where it was. M5's white whale? ;) Better pictures availble on request.
Subaru Impreza WRX STi Limited - only 800 in production, and 400 in this color. Not bad, but not really in the STi spirit. Also, the leather doesn't hold you in the seats as well as the standard ones.
Volvo V70R - Finally in focus! An S60R and there'll be no more Volvo pictures, I promise.
Volvo C70 - I lied. But this one's worth it.

Saw all of these while I was in California for the Laguna Seca Race.

No idea what this is but my dad said it was pretty uncommon:

Dino Ferrari a gorgeous car, absolutely gorgeous:

612 Scagletti:

C1? C2?:

Every car in this photo is a Corvette. I've never seen so many at once.

Earnhardt edition 50th ann.:

Modified C5:

I have no idea what this is. It's an '03 but I don't know.

All of these are Porsches.

Carrera GT:

A bunch of Ferraris. I think I saw a SuperAmerica, not sure though:

1997 DB7 Convt. Manual. Got to speak with the owner, its one of 80 in the US. Oh yeah, I got to sit in it too. :)

Not sure of the actual name:

I saw more Corvettes, Porsches, BMWs, Audi's, and Ferraris in 8 hours than I have in my whole life. Hooray.

we don't get much down here, but i saw a Lotus Esprit when we were at the Gold Coast, and i occasionally see a Porsche 911 around Adelaide, but one day, we were driving around Adelaide with my dad, we passed a brilliant new Ferrari, i stared at it for so long:drool:

at least i think it was a Ferrari:boggled:

edit: sorry i don't have a picture:guilty:

i do have a couple of pics of cars i saw at MovieWorld at the Gold Coast, they were on display:

there was also the Pontiac GTO used in the movie: "lethal weapon" but i didn't get a pic:guilty:

I saw them weekly in Denver. I moved here two months ago and have yet to see one. I've also discovered a new phenomenon: did you guys know that Audi A4s and A6s exist without Quattro?! Crazy, I know. :D

Volvo V70R - Finally in focus! An S60R and there'll be no more Volvo pictures, I promise.

Yeah, but the 98-00 V70R was wimpy. It only had 247hp (a variable number that changed year to year but always near 247), which was the exact same as the period's T5 model. The R's only advantage was all-wheel drive, which meant that it was grippier but also slower than the cheaper T5. Moral of the story: stick to 01+ or 95-97 R models. :D

I have no idea what this is. It's an '03 but I don't know.

I saw one of these a long time ago in Denver. I believe I posted a picture in this thread, or somewhere on GTP. There's a company, in Atlanta, I believe, that takes C5 Corvettes and turns them into "retro" '53 models. At the time I found a Website, but I can't locate it. They look completely stupid, and they're quite expensive, and the whole thing is ridiculous. They are rare though (with good reason). This is a similar thing.

A bunch of Ferraris. I think I saw a SuperAmerica, not sure though:

Yes - there's a Superamerica in the shot of the 360 Spider. There's also a 612 in that shot. So why were you photographing a 360 Spider?! :D

ultrabeat
Meanwhile, the US invasion continues.

And with a camera! My goodness! :P

The Sebring was officially sold in the UK for at least a couple of years, you know. (unlike some of the crap you see)

EDIT: 2000 posts!

A student bought this:

25-compass1.jpg

October 25, 2006 - Emory University/Atlanta, Ga.

Skip0110 called it the worst SUV on the market. Probably true. Hell, it's a Jeep on a car platform aimed at women. Does it get any worse?

Man, I knew it was a 599 or a 612. Also, M5, it looks like the superamerica in the photo I shot wasn't even the one I thought I saw! There was a blue one too. lol

It reminds me of a story a friend had told me while studying at the Univeristy of Miami. After some rainstorms, some kid in a Ford Explorer was stuck on the lawn outside one of the campus buildings. He apparently parked there for class, then his SUV just sank into the mud. My friend saw that just his rear wheels were spinning, and told the kid to put it in 4-wheel drive. The driver looked at my friend like he had three heads. Apparently, you can buy Explorers without all-wheel-drive down south. That suprised me. I knew about front-drive A6's and A8's, having seen them in England years ago. Even A8 1.8T's, if you can believe it.

Dude, nice work. 👍 More proof that I need a vacation. Adding Laguna Seca to the list of possible destinations....

As for the Saleen Mustang, the current top-end S281 (2006 Mustang) is the 550HP S281 Extreme. If the car in the photograph is really putting out 640HP, it's either a Saleen project car (doubtful) or someone who asked for more work on top of whatever S281 they got. It's impossible to tell which S281 it is without looking at the side badge just behind the front wheel. But it's cool nonetheless.

The lowest gasoline A8 has a small V6 - always has. But to my knowledge you used to be able to get a 1.8T A6. They also sell trash like the 318. Europeans are such posers. :D

As for four-wheel drive trucks - yes - 2WD SUVs are common here. I never understood why people hated SUVs so much until I moved here and realized a whole lot of people do buy them for no reason. I haven't seen a 4-wheel drive pickup truck since I left Denver. Okay that's hyperbole but it's damn close.

The funniest thing was with AWD Volvos though. In Denver, XC70s are everywhere - one of the 30 most popular cars in the metro area, if you can believe it. When I first got here, I saw none. Last week I finally saw one - with Colorado license plates. Classic.
