The lowest gasoline A8 has a small V6 - always has. But to my knowledge you used to be able to get a 1.8T A6. They also sell trash like the 318. Europeans are such posers. :D

Or perhaps our fuel is too expensive and our car tax regulations just favour sub 2ltr engines with lower emissions? ;)

I'd have though the 1.8T would get worse mileage because you'd have to work it harder. But with regulations, 1.8T would probably be less.

There are also 720i's and S230's out there. Should I track them down, too?

Yes, it's for posers. If it had anything to do with econmy, they'd have gotten diesels (which most in Europe do these days).

Had this picture laying around for ages,a Jag S-type-R:

Dude, nice work. 👍 More proof that I need a vacation. Adding Laguna Seca to the list of possible destinations....

As for the Saleen Mustang, the current top-end S281 (2006 Mustang) is the 550HP S281 Extreme. If the car in the photograph is really putting out 640HP, it's either a Saleen project car (doubtful) or someone who asked for more work on top of whatever S281 they got. It's impossible to tell which S281 it is without looking at the side badge just behind the front wheel. But it's cool nonetheless.

Laguna Seca is definetly a track you have to see to truly believe. It's flatout amazing.

I also snapped this picture of the Saleen as well. I should probably mention that this car was directly behind the grandstand completely alone. My dad and I stood there for a few seconds before an older gentleman walked up and opened it up and turned the lights on, then walked away. Not sure what that was all about.

I've seen 720i's here... they're not that common, tbh.

It's like making a freakin' Mondeo with a 1.8 engine. Overweight, underpowered. Europeans love that.

I was passed by this while walking to lunch today with my wife.
Being as there's usually only one place in Emeryville that houses such exoticars, I went and had a look at their site. Sure enough it's for sale there. Can't afford it though. Or any of their other inventory for that matter! :(

Lamborghini 350GT

It's located right across the street from PIXAR animation studios. Wonder who their biggest customers are after a successful PIXAR release? :sly:

when we were at the Gold Coast, we saw an article that said: "drive a Lambrorghini Supercar around the city for $200 for 40 minutes, Ferrari also available!" i thought that was great value:)

On my game? The vehicle you posted is a 1996 A4. It's simply mis-labelled in the title; anyone who clicks that link can see that. Hell, this is one of the pictures in the ad:

As I said, the smallest gas engine the A8 has ever carried is a six-cylinder. I'm certain there's no S230, and I'm mostly certain there's no 720i. So yes, I'd like to see you track those down, too.

I'm always on my game. ;)

I saw...

VW Eos (which I belive is pronounced 'Ay-ohss')
Porsche 997 911 (crashed on a flatbed)
Porsche 996 Turbo Cabriolet
C6 Corvette

did i/ well i went to MPH 06 so yes. but on the way there and in the car park:

Ford GT40:drool:

M5

I saw...

VW Eos (which I belive is pronounced 'Ay-ohss')

E - ose.

The first syllable is the letter E; the second is like "post" without the t. Or the p.

CCX

I will never understand you people. You photographed the E39 M5, which is neither exciting nor rare, completely forsaking the Aston-Martin DB9 parked about twenty feet away. Lord.

Nice spot on the GT though - remember, the present one isn't called "GT40," just "GT" - the original one was so named due to its height in inches, while the current model is about four inches taller.

You haven't been able to get an S-Class with a 2.3 liter engine since 1968. And there was never a BMW 720.

That may in fact be a Ford GT40, or perhaps a replica. It only has one windshield wiper, whereas the GT had two.

ARRRGH! Again NO CAMERA.... Roush Mustang.... Saleen Mustang, I think the cars wait until i don't have a camera, THEN they go out to play.

I DIDNT EVEN SEE THAT ASTON!!!!!!!, and it was on old gt by the way. not the new GT

I saw an E39 M5 today in an awesome light blue, a littel lighter than the Nurburgring blue available on S2000s. It looked incredibly good..

And there's a Countach parked at a gas station near-by.

the orginal was never called the GT40 ether that was just a nickname

The project name for the car was GT40, and the race cars were called GT, you are correct. The road versions were indeed called "GT40" however, unless the pinstripe/badge combo on the side of many of the cars counts for nothing.

hmm, replica or not?/? what ever it was my dad just said

hey, we've got a ford gt behind us, i looked, saw nothing and was like, yeah sure, and then it just appeared in my wing mirror. DO'H!

Very good day today!

Remember about a year back when I talked of seeing a light blue Countach in Plano? I saw him again, and boy did he put the pedal to the metal. Now, a Countach is exciting, and all, but this, this was a rare light blue, a paintjob I don't recall Lamborghini ever doing on the Countach.

So, anyways, I was about to snap a shot of him, when he switched lanes, and I almost found myself going into a parked car...so basically, I lost him.:guilty:

But I will find him again. :grumpy:

You photographed the E39 M5, which is neither exciting nor rare.

Actually ive seen about 1 E39 M5 ever in the UK, they're not particularly common in this area, if i saw one id surely take a picture of it.
Besides this is 'did you see anything good today', if CCX feels thats a good car (which i think a lot of people will agree it is) then so be it.

The fact that he managed to completely overlook a DB9 (of which ive seen about 3) is unforgiveable however ;)

also consider this:

BMW M Registry
How many of each version of the E39 M5 were produced?
ECE (LHD): 7,895 examples produced from 10/98 thru 06/03
ECE (RHD): 2,595 examples produced from 10/98 thru 06/03
NA (LHD): 9,992 examples produced from 09/99 thru 06/03

Can't believe no one said anything about me seeing a SLR today. Oh well. I had to do a double take on it because I was not sure I was just not seeing things. Seems I was not because multiple people around me saw it also.

Ferrari 550 Barchetta. 1 of only 448 produced, which makes it rarer than a Superamerica!

i live in a small town, a long way from the city:( and the best i've seen is a Nismo 300ZX down here:(

i'll have to wait til we go to Adelaide again:(
