I like the SLR a lot more now that I have seen one in person. Now I need to see one in black . . . the one I saw was in silver.

Liked thet Park Place exhibit. Saw the SLR hood up. Pretty cool. The exige and Lotuses were cool as well. Liked the Boss 302 that was there, although not rare. Upstairs we had the lambo duo, the Bentley continental duo and 3 Astons. Wasn't too impressed by the Ferraris, 2 430s, a 612 (never realized how big that sucker is). 2 Maser quattroportes and one grandsport (I think). Not bad but could've been better.

People might think this is weird, but I completely agree. After doing this a while, you know what to look for, and you get good at picking out the best cars. I like the Corvette, but when I'm car-spotting, I hate it - I always say to people, "don't you hate it when Corvettes look like good cars?"

I mentioned Italian only as an example, but you're exactly right. It's like being a movie critic: you see things differently. And speaking of Corvettes:

American Music, take 1:

Chevrolet Corvette Z06 C6 - totally toying with a fart-canned Integra that desperately tried to keep up (fortunately just out of view).
Chevrolet Chevelle SS 1969 - perfect example of what we were just talking about: I was at a traffic light for less than a minute, the Chevelle was at least 100 yards away, and behind the Verizon truck that just pulled around. Still saw it with plenty of time to spare.
Dodge Charger R/T Daytona - thought it was rare, until I saw two more in the same week (same color, but differen license plate). Still short on my SRT's, though.
Ford Mustang SVT Cobra - I just like this car. I may even get one, now that they're both used and common enough to pick up cheap.

I've seen a couple of Z06 in the past couple of weeks. They are a great looking car. GM did a very good job on the styling of the C6s.

Also of mention, I know this is a while back; but on September 2nd, I saw a Maserati Quattroporte. It was after the first OU game of the season. The car was absolutely gorgeous. I only wished I could have heard the car while the throttle was wide open, but I guess I should not complain. I got to see what would be a fairly rare sighting where I am at.

And also of mention, do not know the date though (couple weeks ago?), I saw a Bentley Continental GT. I have to say they are much, much better looking in person than in pictures. They look nowhere near as awkward as they do in pictures. In fact, I was surprised at how much smaller they are. To me, in pictures, the car looks pretty big, not so much really in person.

Indeed. I thought they were heinously rare, but they've been popping up everywhere. There's also a Ram version.

Thats my car parked behind it :sly:

Did you get a good shot of the two of them together?

I love taking pictures of my car next to supercars. I recommend it when you get the chance. :D

hehe, righto, i'll remember that, although it'll make my car look even crappier than it really is. :P

oh yeah just remembered i saw a new S2000 and a Z4 parked next to each other yesterday.

I saw plenty of dreamcars today. I went to the ring (Nürnburgring). Took some photo's.
As you can see, 4 of the photo's is of the new Audi TT. This is one ugly car, irl. I don't like the old one and I certainly don't like the new one. :yuck:

It is an 2004, more accurately registered between March and September 2004. It just seems odd to call it new as it's neither a recently facelifted model or a 65 plate.

2004 was the year of the most recent facelift, so it's of the newest style. It also carries the 2.2-liter engine.

I wish you had gotten a better picture of the CLK-DTM. It's an extremely rare car, and one you might never have a chance to see again. Only 100 coupes were made. Thanks for the shots of the TT though - I'm still not sure whether I like it, but one thing's for sure: it's a downgrade from the old, gorgeous model. Nice pics. 👍

It's undoubtedly a better car from the floaty understeery boat the previous one was though. And I personally think the rear end looks far better. The front is, well, not, however.

It's definitely not as revolutionary; it's more evolutionary, and it's very Audi, whereas the last one was very suave.

Yeah I know THREE of them:drool:

Thanks doug, that is what i meant by 'new' although its not brand new its still the most recent facelift :)

Its not often i see S2000's as it is, but i see the old version a lot more than i do/have this one.

Great stuff! I wish I lived close enough to the 'Ring to make a visit. A visit to the 'Ring is one of my goals in life. Hopefully when I do get a chance to go, I will be able to drive the course.

Yeah I know THREE of them:drool:

Crazy. Did you take that photo? That's three percent of the production run! (actually 1.5%, since they made 100 convertibles too)

Same. That tends to be true, though, since they usually only restyle cars when they become unpopular, and usually the restyles tend to do little to bolster its popularity.

I like the new TT, and I like the old one, but for very different reasons. Technical improvements aside, the new one is a visual improvement in some ways (more aggressive, more coupe-ish), but worse in others (not as unique, lost the Bauhaus look). I see nothing wrong with either version, and the 2007 is a definite evolution on the 2002, but the new one will not have the impact the old one had. The new one actually steps back from the design ideas of the old one, and for good reason, I'm sure.

No, he couldn't have. At the top of the image, you can see www.mobotix.com, a security camera company. Also, if you were seen on the top of that building when Mercedes was showing the CLK-DTM to the press (as is probably the case in that photo judging by the October 10th date) you may or may not live to tell about it, depending on whether you had a valid press pass or not. ;)

Still, those are IP cameras (which is all Mobotix does these days). It's possible that the track owners (which is who?) decided not to run CAT5/CAT6/fiber over the 13 miles of track. It's possible that they did everything wirelessly. It's even possible that you can drive by the track totally out of view, hop onto their wireless network, and capture whatever video & stills you want. There's nothing of national security on that site, so I doubt the network security would be all that thorough. I'm sure the average sysadmin could be streaming video to his laptop within 10 minutes. I know I'd try.

Yay! Fuzzy picture day! Just like every other day! ... Yay!

For the first time in a while, I'm posting only stuff taken on the same day -- today.

Chrysler Crossfire SRT-6 convertible - unless someone purchased the rear wing afterwards, this is my first SRT-6 sighting.
Chrysler 300C SRT-8 - what was that line about waiting for a bus, and then two of them?
Mercedes-Benz CL600 Lorinser - fool tried to "race" me. Too bad Lorinser isn't Brabus.
Mitsubishi Lancer Evo MR - yes, that was taken through my rear-view mirror while sitting at a traffic light. Still haven't seen a single Evo 9.
Audi S6 2007 - can't believe I got this. I had only a few seconds between realization and that shot. You can see the LEDs in the front bumper, and just make out the V10 badge (top left of image).
