So has anyone actually seen anything good today?
All right, ladies and gents, here's my Saturday. Less and less cool cars are showing up as it gets cooler and cooler, but they're still around in force - just not like they were in September and early October. All photos taken November 4, 2006, in Atlanta, Georgia.
Day starts off this way:
At the time of this photo I'd seen three including this one; it's four now as I saw one later in the day. I only took the photo because I just love that license plate. Alabama.
Next:
Maybach 57S. Saw it the last two weeks and posted it then too. The owner just cruises the area on Saturdays. It's amazing how little these things stand out. Two people know what they are: me, and valet parkers. Right after that:
Posted that a few weeks ago too. Florida plates. It's a rare late-model Silver Seraph, one of the last "true" Rolls-Royces.
Not bad. MkIV Supras aren't too rare in Atlanta (I saw two today), but in Denver they're a million to one, so I get really excited when I see them. Tennessee tags.
See this every week, as per usual; the owner lives in an expensive hotel in Atlanta.
Not bad. They're everywhere though. Saw a white one later today, but couldn't get a photo off - they're very cool cars. Next up:
A fake, presumably. Do real ones even
exist?!
Speaking of fake ones, this is something I've only seen before on three occaisions:
Every time I'd see an S65 and an SL65 on one day in Denver, I'd look high and low for CL65s, trying to complete the trifecta, but I never did. Today, I saw all three. I only got a picture of the SL, though:
Still - all three in one day! I also saw the Maybach 57S, so I think I saw every use of the 6-liter biturbo V12! Next up:
I love getting to see these things up close. Last week a Gallardo was parked in this spot, and it's awesome to just walk around them once. Parked supercars are second to none. Right next to it:
Soon afterwards, I saw this, though getting a good photo was tough because it went by quickly:
Still haven't seen a Vanquish. Right after that came this:
Badges said Mach 1, but in a slightly different manner than most Mach 1 Mustangs. Not a fan of muscle cars, but I thought this one might be cool so I photographed it.
Speaking of Mustangs, saw these two today:
I remember when I was younger I thought Saleen Mustangs were amazingly cool. Not so anymore. I also thought these were cool:
I still think that though.
Minutes after the NSX:
I will always love the look of the Viper - the '92-'02, the current one, the old coupe, the new coupe... it's gorgeous.
This Rolls was sitting a couple of cars behind the Viper. Not rare, not valuable, but a Rolls, so I photographed it. Boring, but hey. Seconds later:
This one seemed so legit it was scary - just like a wagon, except with a convertible top - even the wheels and the tire cover were the same as the regular one. South Carolina plates.
New MDX. Wasn't aware they were out yet. Originally I thought it was an RDX, but it was pretty big. Very cool car - I really like how it looks.
Next up was the highlight of the day:
I get disappointed every time I see this car. In fact, I consider June 30 one of the most disappointing days of my life. After calling this the most beautiful Ferrari ever for some time, on June 30 I finally saw one and had to pick a new favorite. "Boring" is a better term to describe the car. Yes it's awesome, but it's nowhere near as nice as I thought from pictures. This is only the second one I've ever seen.
Saw two of these today:
The other was white.
Saw two of
these today:
Very cool, but, as I said: me and valets. Everyone else walks right by. And the big finish:
Flying Spur - Phantom - Arnage
A close up of the Arnage:
A close up of the Phantom:
The Phantom belongs to Atlanta-based rapper T.I. My brother knew who he was; maybe some of you guys will. It's the best-looking Phantom I've ever seen (minus the wheels). The two-tone was
fabulous, particularly those exact colors. Gorgeous car.
Can't not do the Bentley collage:
I actually saw five Continentals and a Flying Spur today, but declined to photograph two of the Continentals; the Flying Spur can be seen in the Phantom/Arnage shot.
That's my Saturday! Not sure if I'm doing this next Saturday or not, but I'll definitely be back on the 18th - then it's back to Denver for Thanksgiving, meaning I might see a Continental GT if I'm lucky (in the winter, the supercars all go into their garages in Denver). 👍
