Is this a Legit Alpina or just some wheels and a wing?

Picture021-1.jpg

Picture022-2.jpg

Definitely not a legit Alpina B5. The front and rear bumpers and the boot spoiler are wrong.

And the biggest give away is the missing quad exhausts :D

I actually saw a black Ferrari F430 the other day. Ok, it may not be special to some of you, but I live in a **** hole with a population of only 10,000 people. It was the first time I saw a Ferrari outside of Stockholm, and even there they're rare. I looked up the license plate number and he actually lived here. There is another guy here who owns a Porsche GT3.

I don't know about you, but I think it's pretty amazing there are two exotic super cars in a mid Sweden village with only 10,000 people. I mean, the snow is not even gone here yet!

Good for you Strittan, trust me I know the feeling (places in China where no rich people lived, or taste, seeing a Mercedes S class would have been a big deal)

I'm applying an MA degree in transportation design at Umea later this year... so even if the car scene isn't that exciting I'll know the course will :D

I agree the 599 is a brilliant car. I think Ferrari should do a Spider version of it though, I think it would look lovely. A real California and not the piece of poo that is the current Cali.

Where I live I don't see alot of cars to post here

On Stijns remark, I took some pictures on 27th March, where I had some things to do all around Belgium:

It started when I was getting out of Brussels (coming from the AutoWorld Museum, see later events thread):

an Alfa Romeo

A limo:

On the motorway:

Nissan GT-R
4483144741_de0f4f0376_o.jpg

At this stage I thought, Stijn needs to get out more.

Audi A8, Honda CRX

4483142445_b569ccd9b3_m.jpg

Did a bit of shopping in Ieper (near a regularity criterium of a classic car club I belong too):

A Porsche Boxster S with red top and silver paint:
4483145133_964c16f99b_b.jpg

A Toyota Supra:
4483791464_8e6ddfec73_b.jpg

A tuned Peugeot 206 Cabrio:

A Mustang, regular but liked the paint, stickers and rims:
4483144893_bd14fc88bc_b.jpg

4483144961_984f6fbf12_b.jpg

A Seebring hardtop cabrio (did not see a lot of these here):
4483145057_95236ddea8_b.jpg

An Opel Manta
4483142595_6b591a043a.jpg
4483142513_5a944b67eb.jpg

Germans even made a film about the next version of this car

This was followed up by the Opel Calibra (picture near my summer home in Belgium):
4468906983_9169cefe21_b.jpg

The evening (Gent, getting some bottles from my whisky club):

A bit to fast taking this picture, Aston Martin DB7:

Porsche 911 4S Targa
4468905405_45f4392234_b.jpg

This one is actually from Luxembourg a few days before, but I did see a Maserati GranTurismo in Gent, just could not get a good angel and thus did not even try having this picture still to publish:

Cool, my dad lives up there, and I've been to the design school. Some amazing stuff they have there. 👍

Some people were trying to get a VW Scirroco, some of those I saw from the last 24h, 2 are company cars of colleagues (actually considered a lower grade car in our company):

4483408445_39e37cde94_m.jpg
4484075914_ae38fd20e6_m.jpg

P.S.:
* I actually missed 4 white ones and 1 bright green one, and no pretty Ladies in them when I saw them.
* I was always intending to send them but was waiting for a good shot at an R. Still on the program.

The point I'm trying to make is:
* Some cars are more common in some parts of the world then in others, this does not degrade that you can like the car you see and that you can post it
* Hong Kong, the fancy hotels of Miami, Dubai, Beverly Hills, ... you might have very expensive cars, its a fact of life
* Some cars are exclusive (still did not see 1 Tata Nano on here)
* People from Mexico, India etc rarely post these very new expensive cars, but I do believe their contribution with old and special cars is appreciated by most, it certainly is by me.

Catching up a bit, although should be busy at work:

Mini, love the racing stripes (the back had no stripes and was uninteresting)

These showed me with the old camera and bad light, need to take the tripod out and it still works, originally took it out for this Bentley GTC:

4484257826_d7abedda68_b.jpg

Had seen one earlier this week:
4483607795_4464d1cd91_b.jpg

Then there is this Jaguar XJ8:
4483608637_80d4d2a276_b.jpg

With in the background a Bentley Flying Spur (a lot less common, although rushing to an appointment I saw an other one today):

A Cadillac Escalade with open back? That was a first.

Seen this one a few time, still no clue what it is:
4484257752_62038b1f4b_b.jpg

The sound was very clear Mercedes C63 AMG, whow the V8 sounds sweet:
4484257620_cac1eb550d_b.jpg

Quite liked it when this 911 popped up:
4484257170_bf229570bb.jpg
4483607541_d306ed5bf5.jpg

Mercedes SL 55 AMG (my god the driver was old, but again that V8 sound)
4484257056_f21e74d2cc.jpg
4484256986_4baa114c26.jpg

Aston Martin Vantage V8:
4484257272_cd75e26976_b.jpg

Finally a Volvo C70 (not uncommon) in the copper color was originally presented:
4483608145_f52fed6a4e_b.jpg

P.S.: Stijn, I understand your point that you do not see and SL 55 AMG, Aston Martin, 2 Bentley GTCs and 2 Flying Spurs in a week. I still thought the 500 and Mini made my day more then the others.

POST OF THE CENTURY, NISMO!! I dont know where to start. Well, obviously on the abandoned cars. dude you NEED to go there and snapsnapSNAP!!! The Camaro, Vette and GTO in the street are awesome, specially the Vette, looks so mean with fat front rollers!! Drag truck is also nice in that it is a twin cab, and the ford bein' towed is no Ford but a very rare Mercury Comet, 1964 or 65. Do you remember if it had front-facing hood scoops? if so, that be a Caliente. The Roadrunner is a 1973-74 model, most of which go unnoticed and as such aren't as recognizeable as their earlier siblings, but I still think they look quite nice.

what a post dude, what a post...

All those Lincolns are a part of a place where they fix them up for basketball players and football players. I wanted to get more pictures, but they were behind a fence and I wasn't in the mood to get arrested :lol:/

It does look like it might be a twin cab, but I don't know much about pickups.Good to hear about my "Ford", but no I don't remember what it had since I was trying to get a picture and it passed by the time I could look.

Greenwich Connecticut may be one of the greatest places in the US for cars that is not a track. All of these pics were taken in just one day at the place.

GT Cabrio? I didn't even know they existed. Wonderful! The Countach is all kinds of authentic too. Great post. Great page.

Passing through Birmingham on my way up to the in-laws on Friday I spotted the new Jag XJ. Sorry for the rubbish photo, but I only had my Blackberry with me, it was chucking it down and I was on my own!
