I'm still yet to get platinum. If I get the right string of events, I think I can manage it ... but there's still a few stages that are iffy for me.

I'm barely winning in Point-to-Point events, but I'm not far from first place unless I screw up.

Fanbase 21...

Yeah, there's a couple of guys out there who are really good. I used to hate it when I ran into MKC Dannyboy because he's so damn good - but then I started following his racing lines, and I'm steadily catching him.

Online isn't as bad as I thought. I decided to give it a go after hearing that you get special skins and new horns by ranking up online.

I enjoyed it, especially since it's like you're just racing against ghosts. Nothing like Dirt 2 with all the ramming and punting. Currently rank 7 or so after an hour of racing...best finish was second, and also made a friend 👍.

You can actually get punted in point-to-point stages in the Jam Session. The host can put collisions on, but it's a staggered start.

The best way to rally imo, with friends at least but I prefer it either way. The ghosts just kind of take away from the atmosphere and are a bit of an immersion kill to me.

If you guys run into a Russian guy named LSDKILLZONE, can you please give him a bad review for me? I was in a Pro Tour rallycross race against him in Monaco and I managed to take the lead from him when he ran really wide at the hairpin. He took the place back on the final lap - but not braking into the hairpin, and instead collecting me broadside. I ended up in the wall, and he ended up winning the race. I had a go at him in chat for his dirty tactics (I'd already given him a bad review from a previous encounter) as did a few others, and he had the nerve to give me a bad review for being "unsporting". A few rounds later, we were doing rallycross again in LA and he started deliberately targeting me. So if you see him, please let him know what you think of him.

We no play PC :P

Staggered Starts ftw. Turning on ghosts just kills it for me too, because as soon as you screw up one corner you begin to drive reckless or lose hope seeing your opponents pull away like that.

However, it's totally different in RX. When I screw up, I'm super determined to catch up...maybe not first place, but definitely the next best position.

Oh, same. I thought it was just first-corner muscling that led to me slipping back, and the Moscow Rules say once is an accident. Then I found myself upside down in the barriers at the next turn, and twice is a coincidence; four of us wiped out, so it could have been anyone. So I'm down in seventh, hammering along and trying to catch up the the rest. There's this 6R4 directly in front of me, but as we're going down to the hairpin that leads you back into the stadium, he vanishes - he's used a flashback. Just as I'm braking for corner, I once again get the familiar sensation of someone driving into me from behind as hard and fast as they can, and I'm nose-deep in the armco. I check the position roster, and sure enough, it's LSDKILLZONE. Three times is enemy action.

Also, my game seemed to be stuck playing the one song while waiting for everyone to join. I heard it four or five times in a row. Not that I'm complaining; it's probably the best song on the soundtrack:

Took me forever to find it, though. They're so indie that they don't even have a Wikipedia entry. They are, however, undoubtedly A Serious Band since they all have long hair, wear leather jackets, have tattoos and make music videos featuing the gratuitious use of muscle cars and walls of lights.
