DiRT Rally 2.0 Hands-On Preview: Magical Stage Design, Tarmac Physics Need Work

Why pre-order the Deluxe version if you have the same content after release? Or maybe you don't. I'm still not sure about that.

The only thing I'm interested in is extra RX content and I suppose this is in Season 2.

Ok, so the season pass is also included in the after release Deluxe Edition.

I'm going to wait for reviews.

For some reason that link description showed as blank for me.
When I go to this site: http://dirtrally2.com/buy it says ’Deluxe editing content’ but doesn’t make any mention of pre ordering bonus. However, below it, it says ‘Day 1 edition’, which has the Alpine Renault, Fiat 131.
Similar to the Canadian PlayStation store, which is where I’ll be purchasing from:
https://store.playstation.com/en-ca/product/UP4001-CUSA12819_00-DIRTRALLY2US0103
From what I can see, there’s no difference in pre ordering the Deluxe, only the 4 day early release.
I’m looking forward to this game, but I don’t typically pre order before reviews, unless there’s some sort of bonus offered.

My guess it is one dlc code that'll grant you access to season 1 and 2.

This.

If you don't get the deluxe, the DLC will be purchasable in separate packs as it comes out. So you can pick and choose what content you want .

That's the whole point of Deluxe edition.
You don't get what I mean and you probably didn't read my previous posts regarding the Deluxe Edition.

Let me say it again. I wasn't sure if the season pass was included in the Deluxe Edition after the official release. In the beginning, I thought it was only included in the pre-order.
That's why I said what I said (season pass is included in the Deluxe Edition). :D

;)

@kikie I get you it I don't know the answer. If the Deluxe edition is still available after launch then I'm sure it will include the contents for the first two season passes. I don't know if it would include the Porsche RGT car as that may be pre-order only.

Thanks .....
.... but I have known since a few days now that the season pass is included. I'm not interested in the Porsche RGT though since I'm an RX fan and not a rally fan.

So, maybe it is better to get the standard edition and buy season 2 as a DLC knowing that season two has some RX content.

What would be the point of Deluxe edition, if there was no season pass included? Then the basic and deluxe edition would be the same. In gaming industry, deluxe edition normally means basic game + season pass. Pre-ordering just gets you those extra perks.

I think the confusion is there are multiple ‘perks’ included in the Deluxe version, not just the season 1 and 2 passes. Based on this http://dirtrally2.com/buy alongside the seasons passes, there are also ‘5 early unlock cars’, ‘upgraded starter cars’ and the ‘Porche’.
This means there are 4 perks above the standard edition, plus 4 day early access. What we are trying to parse out is, of those multiple perks, which ones are only available if you pre order.

So far I haven’t seen any CodeMaster literature that says any of these are only for pre ordering, so I’m tempted to wait until after reviews, however, I don’t want to miss out on any of those perks. I like those starter cars and the idea of early unlock cars.

I also haven’t seen what the cost of the season passes will be on their own. Has anyone seen confirmed prices? That would give people a better understanding of whether Deluxe makes more sense for them or not.

Excuse me if I wasn't sure and thought that it wasn't just a pre-order thing. I'm clearly not as smart as you are.

A friend just got the deluxe edition and i played the career mode.

T300rs works out of the box with good Force feedback. FFB is intense compared to dirt1.

You start with historics events (introduced by a short nice video with real footage of the lancia stratos and the mini) but the are not real full championships, just 2 random events with different cars and 5 rounds per event.

You can select the difficulty level now.

The big problem is that after 30minutes you have already got bored of the stages cause they look all the same with the same environment, the lack of content is embarassing. It looks like you are running always the sale stage.

In terms of dricing experience is way better and easier than dirt1. Tarmac with soft Tyres is finally ok, with hard is like ice. Graphics improved a lot.

From the footage I've seen I think also that it is more varied than Your Stage and I didn't get a "boring" feeling even watching them on Youtube. Impressions will roll in the coming days 👍

And bear in mind that watch videos of rally, both real life and games can make you feel that it's all the same. When you enter in stage in DR it's a different experience. Let alone a real life rally stage.

I wonder, ........... again.

How is it possible he got the Deluxe Version before the release date? Just a stupid question.

Must have been a review copy, the press typically get games earlier than the public.

In a nutshell

  • Unfinished game sold for gold price!
  • To light on content (should have €30 pricetag and not €50)
  • DLC policy where Codies wants to get money (read milk their customer)
  • Excellent driving and sensation
  • Co-pilot in French not that great
  • Sounds are excellent
  • Great to play and fun
  • General graphics and textures aren't up to standard
  • Adviced to get on a sale
