That makes no Sense ^^

There are Things a Human can't Influence or do, but Sony owns PD and they say what they have to do. But they can't say "
make a game with 100000000000 Cars in 1 Minute."
That is Not possible. They can decide everything if it is realistic. For example "
Release GT6 on XY Console. You have 3 years development Time and XX.XXY.XYX $. We want XY Cars and a simulation with different assists for Gamer. Dont make it a Real SIM your Target is the mass market."

Why does that make no sense to you? It was basically stated earlier that Sony gets what Sony wants. I made the point that either Sony doesn't always get what it wants (a reliable system) or simply does not care. That is why I made the comment about the ad campaign that describes all the things a ps3 "can" do, perhaps it is just a diversion tactic. Also the call of duty market has so much more of voice than us lowly GT customers.

If Sony gives PD a realistic deadline for a game, and PD does not deliver it seems as Sony has no option but to just keep pushing deadlines back. I highly doubt this is one of the things that Sony gets whatever Sony wants type of things.

The Game wasn't finished in 2008. Sony decided to give them more Time, because they missed the target.

Hey you've been saying if Sony want a game on such a date they'll have it.

Now your saying this.

Are you taking your meds?

Cheng, you're basically agreeing that if GT6 isn't ready by PS4's launch time, then they won't get it. Which contradicts your previous statement that if Sony wants GT6 for PS4's launch, they'll get it.

I think we're all in agreement here. You're right that Sony has the last say, but they are reasonable enough on their restrictions.

Well. GT5 is out since 2010 and PD already develop GT6. That means they have enough time to make GT6 on PS3 - Release 2012-2014 - or a PS4 Release at launch or later in the cycle.
It depends on PS4 Release and other targets for example How much content and How PD works .

Sony wants sells and a Good Image. That means the won't Release a product until it's finished. But they could Release it in theory. But that wouldn't make sense.

You didn't understand what i mean. Maybe the reason for that is my Bad english xD
I always Said - or mean - they'll get what they want if its realistic.

And a Launch exclusiv for a New Console is possible and it's possible to decide on which Plattform a Game will be developed.

Sometimes a Console Release is delayed, because the Game needs to be finished first.

Please dont try to get personal.

My guess is GT6 for PS3 is out before Christmas 2013 globally and PS4 is out whenever GT7 will be ready :-D

And yes reading here is hilarious :-))

Forgive me for reviving a month old thread, but I must ask some of you...

Just how long do you want PD to support GT5 with DLCs? I've heard arguments that waiting 3-5 years is too long between GT games, but from the looks of it, many of you are contradicting yourselves. If say, GT5 will continue support with DLC in the coming year, there's just no way we can expect GT6 to arrive till at least 2014. Remember, there has to be a reasonable gap between the DLC and GT6's release, otherwise, there would be little interest to GT5 DLC knowing that GT6 is coming soon.

I was hoping to hear something about GT6 in either gamescom or TGS, but news of GT5 (possibly multiple) DLC just slimmed out that chance by a bunch, or at least that's how I felt.

It's better to have GT6 than to get new dlc, how much money you expect to spend for next DLC, and try to get a finished product? That's quicker to get a new copy of the game, which would raise a new interest among the players.

The current DLC (Cars and tracks) cannot fix the biggest problems with the game so yes, in my opinion I would rather they shift focus entirely to GT6. Although in direct contradiction to that, any car or track modelling for GT6 could be added as GT5 DLC, so it's not like they're specifically taking time to create DLC for GT5, they're just using assets which would otherwise be kept for GT6. There would just be the small amount of time spent by I assume a couple of employees implementing the code into a GT5 update.

I would want some old GT4 tracks and then I would really be settled. Call it the classic race pack, El Capitan, Cita D'Aria, Costa Di Amalfi, New York, the remaining Special Stages. Oh how I would love this.

This is exactly how I see it, too. Really, what PD "should" be doing is releasing every single car and track as DLC for GT5 the moment it is finished. Then, six months to a year before GT6 is due to roll out, stop with the DLC so as to keep back some new stuff for the next game. That's where the smart money would be.

Then again, I think I'd prefer a substantial majority of new stuff at the unbeatable price of just one game. Just going by tracks, GT6 would cost a horrendous amount of money at the DLC-rate of $4-5 per track - then there are the cars, the features etc. For DLC, that means you wouldn't buy them all, and hence wouldn't get to try them all (until the next game, if it comes).

There is a reason this is the model iRacing went with, and there is a reason why "Vision Gran Turismo" moved well away from the originally-intended micro-transaction model. Value just isn't as easily measured in small parts, and nobody likes to feel excluded.

I agree that they should release some content because it will keep their money going and keep us happier (well, complaints will always happen) as it shouldn't be a biggie if they're doing the car/track models for GT6, shouldn't matter as much if GT6 is coming to PS3 or PS4 cause these are only 3D models and maps.

But in my opinion they shouldn't be releasing ALL content into GT5. Leave something exclusively for GT6. Or most content, that'd be even better. I want occasional DLC to have something new from time to time, but I rather prefer to be amazed with GT6 content than having almost nothing in terms of cars and tracks, just GT5 + DLC transfered to PS4 with better graphics or left on PS3 with few new, not very important features.

Last six months as you said, should be left for testing the game in every detail, completing it and polishing. Many people were disappointed with menus in GT5, in my opinion they were rushed, GT5: Prologue menu was much more polished with the clock and calendar and overall elegant look. GT Life menu looks just bland.

Yeah can't be a lot of people judging by the deluge of dlc we're getting.

I wish they'd still release something nice as dlc a kind of a 'send-off' to wait for GT6. In the end you're right though, I guess it's time to move on.

The game has still a lot to give to me though. :)

If PS4 is indeed on the very-near horizon then picking DLC #4 would be a much wiser option.

I would die extremely happy if they release GT6 on PS4 and PC ...

All the city tracks from GT4 please! Even Hong Kong! Plus, El Captain like you said.

Oh that's one of those tracks that we urgently NEED in GT5, it's like Mid-Field raceway. We need it.

I need new stuff. No more remakes. Sick of see and play the same thing over and over again.
Put some Hillclimb and long roads (Targa Florio, Isle of Man, Pikes Peak for the love of God...)...and rally stages like in GT4.

I don't need new tracks IMO. I just want tracks that would be absolutely perfect to drive in GT5. I rather have them import tracks I already know and love to be honest. Keep the new tracks for GT6. That way we have more content there.

For me, that's really the only way to finish DLC with a bang. As you say, the old tracks are nothing new, so it shouldn't really take away from GT6 that much. If they only have a few brand new tracks though, I can see how they would try to preserve some, to keep GT6 as fresh as possible.

And actually (in response to some of you), this is another thing with DLC. PD have specifically said that they want to balance between new content for GT6 and GT5 DLC. Don't expect them to give away everything they've done through DLC. Besides, I'm sure that can be very underwhelming for a lot us who look forward to see the new cars and tracks that we've NEVER seen before for every new GT game.

Anyway, if it's not the classic tracks, we need to be done with DLC soon if we want any hopes of seeing GT6 in 2013.

That is not going to happen, sadly.

On a sidenote: Would you die right after the announcement or play it first? Personally I'd like to wait till at least GT ehh... 16 or so (Assuming they'll take at least 5 years to develop each one of course) before I'd die happy.

If I have the knowledge that they are spending their time making GT6 then I don't mind having no DLCs

Well if they're already working on GT6, how are they gonna change it all up to make it a PS4 game?

Maybe they already know what the target specs are?

But PD already said the work on GT6 since or before the GT5 launch. This would be to early for the ps4 specs.

We don't know.

We also don't know how long the PS4 has actually had parts in development. They could have been sitting on the idea for a while trying to milk the current generation of consoles for as long as possible.
