DLC #4 or GT6?

It's because it doesn't. 👍

Or at least it shouldn't! I maintain a 2013 release (November). But that's just me.

if that's the case there could be some news about GT6 on this year's E3, since it's a major first party title for Sony and they won't make the same mistake of releasing those years after the console was launched.

Id have to say that the cars added to GT5 by DLC will most likely be ported over to GT6, and GT6 will most likely be on PS3 this is my opinion, because the cycle of GT games are 2 to ever playstation so if you follow that, GT1, GT2, PS1. GT3, GT4, PS2. So GT5, GT6, PS3. again im just Speculating.

The thing is that no other GT game was released this far into the console's life. Then, another point would be that no other generation of consoles have lasted as long as this generation, considering it's still the "current-gen". Because of that, speculating on GT6's release date is made really interesting.

Sure, but I'd keep expectations to a minimum! When dealing with PD, this is the general rule to follow. Never ever break this sacred rule.

I could see Kaz talking about Photo Stream and announcing its integration in other places than Asia. I think all gamers will soon be able to use it.

As for a concept movie, absolutely. Perhaps teasing Bathurst or a classic track. And I'm sure we'd see the NSX concept at some point in the movie.

That's my vision. Simple as it should be. 2013 is a whole other story, though.

Option 3?
GT5 Type RA-R Spec Zero NA

Whatever they do I just hope to see a well finished game with as little redundancy as possible. Also as few run-of-the-mill cars as possible, and with as little of the museum element as possible.

I want GT6 for Playstation 3. I don't want the PS3 left with a flawed and unfinished Gran Turismo that is the 5th version.

Pretty much this. PlayStation owners deserve a really great Gran Turismo game, and I feel we have not gotten that at all.

Say what you will about the PS3 hardware, I still think that Polyphony Digital can optimize it a lot more then they did, and actually make it work. I feel like they are close to getting there.

Not ASAP as then gt6 would not be done properly.

What makes you say that? As much as I was disappointed with GT5, PD already has a great foundation to work with. They've been working on GT6 since late 2010 as well. This fall will be 2 years now since the game has been in development.

I bet anything we see GT6 at E3 this year, with a launch date of 2012, or early 2013.

I think PD is going to focus much less on building up hype over a long period of time with this title, and just get it out the door.

I think most people who want to see GT6 on ps3 only think that way because they are afraid they will have to spend even more money on a new console if GT6 ends up being a ps4 title. And that's understandable, but there is really no point for GT6 on ps3.

GT5 is already compromised in graphics and performance. There is simply not enough room for improvement, and people want more cars, better graphics and physics on a system that is already maxed out by gt5, and all that in 2 years time?

They should prepare their assets for ps4 and start there.

A lot of people only play gt5, and most people will not spend $700+ on gt6, not with what we got on gt5, it makes sense to have it on ps3 because you have a Guaranteed market, especially since there are thousands of things to fix on gt5 that would take up no more resources.A more streamlined content filled game for a lower long run price sounds better then another risky next gen game that costs $700+.

Sony have a lot of power and will want gt6 as a launch title for ps4, pd will do as they are told by Sony.

You can't really say this with any certainty. With Sony's financial problems over the last 12 months, and no plans to announce a new console this year, GT6 very well could be the last major exclusive for the PS3.

In fact, what lebes14 says makes the most sense. You already have a very well established playerbase on the PS3. The Gran Turismo series is very expensive, you cannot make the game a launch title on a next generation system, it will not turn a profit. Sony has to wait for their playerbase to build up, and who knows how long that will take on a new system.

Launching on the PS3 is a lot safer.

Especially when you figure how many Garunteed purchases gt5 lost the series, if PD pulls another gt5 because of a restructure on a new system, I can Garunteed they will get less buys the gt5. As much as the Internet makes you believe otherwise, people aren't stupid, there will be those who wait before they drop $60, and of it doesn't turn out, it's more then likely gt6 will be mainly bought by the fanboys who think its flawless now.

You're kidding right? Sony gave them the freedom with GT5 for four+ years before they finally put their foot down and forced them to release what they had.

The mentality that needs ps4 to be good is a simple answer to a complicated problem, gt6 can be great with or without ps4, it requires them however to step away from old thinking. They made gt5 like a ps2 game, make gt5 with customization and content streamlined like a ps3 game and it would be great with the current level of quality. Only thing I see ps4 doing is larger fields and the obvious graphics boost, but for $700+? Seems to me most won't be buying a ps4 first few months, so this seems it would be a waste of one of their title games. The notion that Sony desires it to be a ps4 to be a launch title seems to be pure speculation, using this as some kind of argument stretches speculation to far based on previous actions of PD.

I know in my case, GT6 will not be a pre-order, like GT5 was. I'll be waiting until the game drops in price, and getting opinions first. I felt pretty burned by the GT5 hype.

While GT5 did sell over 7 million copies, it's still the lowest selling of the core GT series, and the lowest overall rated of the series as well.

Indeed. I bought a PS3 for GT5 but I won't be rushing straight out to buy it until reviews and fan opinions are in this time.

When I bought my PS3 in 2009, I didn't even realize GT5 was still coming out, I thought the game was canceled. Once I heard about it in early 2010 though, I got pretty hyped up for it. I'm glad GT5 wasn't a reason why I bought my PS3, that ended up going to Demon's Souls and Uncharted 2.

You have just proved my point, Sony told pd to release the game and they did exactly that, even tho the game wasent finished, if Sony want gt6 as a ps4 launch title that's what they will get.

But why would they want that when GT6 could be squeezed out onto the PS3 for relatively "cheap" and it would still sell in the millions? After that they could sell another game on the PS4 when it eventually arrives (both the console, and the game...)
If you really wanted to take the cynical view, I'd suspect that milking the current, well known platform easily beats developing for a new platform, which may have hidden financial "surprises" somewhere down the road (you know, like a three-to-four year delay). If you want a guaranteed return, always choose the safe bet.

So, just logically really, "GT6" (or some other substantial expansion to the current game, in whatever form - bigger than DLC, bigger than "Spec III") will be on PS3.

And you don't think they originally wanted GT5 in 2008? They forced it out once they had enough waiting but they certainly didn't want it in 2010 originally.

Publisher decide everything. If Sony wants a PS4 or PS3 Release PD can't do anything against it.
Maybe they Wanted a Release in 2008, but the Game wasn't finished in 2010. And now think about what the development was in 2008. The Game wasn't ready.

But that doesn't matter. PD is owned by Sony and Sony can and will decide everything.

That makes no sense. You agree they probably wanted GT5 in 2008 but it wasn't ready so they gave them longer, now you're suggesting if Sony want GT6 as a PS4 lauch title there is nothing to stop them getting it?

I bought a PS3 for GT5. I only have one other game. If it releases on the PS3, I'll get it for 60 bucks, but if they release it on a PS4, I will probably never own it. I guess we'll see. But I agree with someone earlier, I will not preorder either.
