Does anyone else feel like the star roulette tickets are rigged?

Of course they're rigged. In the roulettes bug you could realise that they gave you a good prize only 1 or 2 out of 10 times.

Not sure rigged is the right word, as don;t think they've ever claimed there's an equal chance of winning each prize. Problem is, the graphics/animation gives people that impression.

Like any RNG, like slot machines, there's a built in code that determines the probability of each outcome. Not sure, about other countries, but in the UK slots (online or physical) have to display the RTP (return to player) %. For some reason, at least historically, the RTP would be much lower typically, compared to online. Online tend to be low 90% to the highest ones being 98%.

Anyway kind of going off on a bit of a tangent, as we're not using credits or money with the games 'roulette', but theres clearly an algorithm at work that decides on payout/prize from it. So on a 5 star ticket, the best prize will have much lower probability factored in. Wonder if it evens out over time, so if say 10000 GT& daily players tracked their results, in short term there may be some variation, but over time, everyone roughly receives similar value in prizes?

Either way, I'm not bothered and just do it in auto pilot, rather than sitting on the edge of my chair hoping for a big payout.

Since 1.20 ive only recieved 3 star tickets, nothing higher and no engines from them either.Hoping at some point to get the audi engine for the Mk1 golf gti.🤞Ever the optomist me.
Ok since we had this brief discussion I’ve went the past 4 days with all 3star tickets! 😂

One of them did net me a cool Cr.500k though!!

I've had 3 4-star spins give me the 5,000 in a row now. I laugh at it cos of its meme potential but seriously, it's a bit irritating.

It should be a fun part of the experience and it's just as someone said above, a tip, underwhelming to say the least.
Well its better than mine .... I often get NOS kits for cars I don't have or even want ... I don't even use NOS. I think I've had 3 now .. Even 5k cash is better

I was in a similar position. Mine was only a 7 or 8 day streak though, that was broken a few days ago. I’ve since went 4 star, 4 star, 6 star (engine)
I will have you as my beacon of hope then! I have a feeling if I miss a single day and then get one afterwards it will actually be 4+ but who knows! :indiff:

My tickets always lands on the top left spot each time no matter what is the star value of the tickets
So each time i know the prize even before it stop spinning 😵‍💫

I won a 1m Gold bar from a 3-star ticket. Most times it’s the predictable smallest amount. Recently I’ve been winning more cars from these roulettes.

I was sooo happy with a 6 star ticket for the daily marathon, finally!!, ..........
to win the Veyron i bought myself last month because i won a High RPM T for it :banghead:

Same for me, (minus the 1M gold bar).

And the cars I've been winning are turds that I don't even want.

The wheel would be less hated if it spun after you won a race.

I stood over a month only receiving 4 stars+ tickets, but for the past 4 days in a row, I got only 3 stars tickets.
Guess the algorithm is kickin in yo.

Still 0 engine swaps since the update.

While the star roulette tickets are probably not rigged, they do demonstrate a terribly poor understanding of creating player fun and enjoyment. GT7 is a game, and therefore meant to be fun? So, the star roulette tickets should add to the fun and enjoyment of the game - yet, it makes people feel disappointed and unhappy. I'm not a psychologist, and I doubt they consulted one in the development of the game. Surely, carrying out research to identify how to increase the enjoyment of the game.

My guess is that the star roulette ticket system should have been programmed differently. I understand from other posts that the allocated prize is selected before we see the roulette spin. Okay, then more of the other options should be a lower 'value' than what is won. So, it should make me feel a bit lucky, more often. When we do 'win' a nice prize, my initial reaction is not that much pleasure, more of going wow, finally.

The same thing happens when I buy lottery tickets! What's the deal with that?!? Such low odds. 😆 I'll have to think of another way to financially sustain myself like work. Ewww.

I find this roulette thing pathetic and weak. Are PD attempting to copy the mobile phone "gaming" industry? That crap industry that has kids paying £100's for credits to gamble away on loot boxes and roulette wheels. Maybe you get some for free by watching an advert. These games are about addiction, data farming and child exploitation.

PD should be shaping the games industry, not being lead by some Chinese one man band scammer. Just shows how weak an unadventurous these world-leading devs are.

Much less it wastes my time having to load up the roulette room and wait for it to do it's thing, and then give me the bottom reward 99% of the time. Just give me the same smallest cash reward at the end of a race and be done with it.

I've stopped doing statistics on these roulettes because PD changes their design every other update.
But someone has done some data gathering of the current state of the daily ticket rewards:

So the information we have is:

At level 20+ Collector level, the chances for us to receive a 4* or higher ticket is 58+5+3% = 66%

I'm going to discount 6* part and engine tickets because those are so incredibly rare (probably less than 1%) that they are irrelevant, plus the normal 6* ticket doesn't give engines or special parts. So let's make it only the 4* and 5* ticket odds that are much more common. So, it's basically 63%.

The chance for a special car part to be given in a 4* or 5* ticket is 10%.

I don't know if PD has added more special car parts, but from my studies of the Ticket BONANZA days, I could confirm there are at least 205 individual Special Car Parts to be won from these tickets.

Let's do some math:

-So 63% odds of getting a 4*/5* tickets is basically around 230 of these tickets per year.
-Out of those 230 tickets, we only have a 10% chance to get a Special Car Part. So that's basically 23 tickets, ergo, 23 car parts per year.
-There's 205 individual car parts, so 205/23 *drum roll: 8,9, let's round this up: 9 YEARS to get all 205 car parts.

BUT WAIT!!! THERE'S MORE!!! This is assuming the absolutely unrealistic scenario that whenever we get a special car, it's not a duplicate. And let's be real, this is never going to happen, it's almost impossible actually.

Back in the ticket glitch days, I've opened over 6.000 (yes, 6 thousand) 4* tickets which back in the day also had a 10% odd of giving a special car part, and yet, I've got only just more than half of those 205 parts, 122 to be more precise (and a crapton of duplicates).

So I've opened the equivalent of 16 YEARS worth of tickets and I got just a bit more than half of those 205 individual special car parts.

This is truly unbelievable... This was even after the updates, because the odds were even worse before, I've seen someone on the Discord channel calculating the time needed to get all 205 car parts at HUNDREDS OF YEARS.

We are talking about game developers here, guys that are supposed to excel at math, or at the very least, know BASIC math (which is what I just did).

I REFUSE to believe they arbitrarily chose these odds for the ticket prizes. This definitely wasn't random, this was quite clearly a choice.
Why? That's the question... Why did they decide to go with this choice? Is this to just drag things out so that people keep playing the game?

By the time I get all of these car parts, we are already on Gran Turismo 12 on the Playstation 10 or something in 2050. That's assuming the game doesn't get AXED by the offline servers going down that is...

People... This needs to get attention. It's just way too ridiculous. Someone at PD has to read this and make drastic changes to the way we can get these parts (and also the engine swaps while we're at it since those also take quite a few years bare minimum).

This game couldn't be more off-putting to the casual player that just wants to have fun, even if it tried. Unbelievable...

What is even the point of engine swaps and special car parts if we can't have them?
