Does anyone else feel like the star roulette tickets are rigged?

This isn't damming in any way really.
I didn't say it was.

The roulette is purely an animation, with the prize decided the second you open the ticket. This is done to prevent users from doing what they do in GTA Online with the daily wheel spins on there - which is turning off your console as soon as you see a poor prize result.
I know, that's been discussed in this thread.

It's quite a common anti-cheat mechanism that Devs implement. If, however, each prize had a 20% drop rate - even if it was predetermined at opening of the ticket - would still be a fair representation of a roulette ticket and thus not rigged.
Agreed, but based on what we know from the same mechanism in GTS it's not an equal chance, in fact if it's the same mechanism as GTS, and the balance of probability points to that, then it's not a chance at all.

This particular video proves nothing in isolation.
It wasn't presented as such in isolation, but as an extension of what we know from GTS, as per the ongoing conversation in this thread. I would advise reading through the thread and taking it in that context.

In the past 7 days ive had 6 coin stacks under 10k almost all were actually 5k oh yes and a aventador invite i despise .. Today i had a great looking four star ticket i thought i was going to be rewarded for my sorrows hahah...There was motor a driveshaft a ferrari emblem and some vgt car and what did i get the FREAKiNG small coin stack in the corner i should have know lmao

Since seeing the end movie, I've been gettting some pretty good drops. On another account I opened four tickets and each one landed on the lowest coin each time. That's as fixed as fixed gets, but changes in end game.

It shows five possibilities to win where one would assume the chance to win each is 20% (100%/5) but it's definitely not! The lower/lowest worthy price has a higher percentage to be "drawn". It's annoying, and especially the amount of time it consumes to present the "win" is what annoys me the most.
I personally wouldn't call it rigged, but I can understand how some people come to that conclusion.

after all these they should give 5 times in a row the top award, then I may feel like it is not rigged. Right now it just looks suspicious.

A tad off topic but... Has anyone received a 5 star ticket? Does such a beast exist?

When I finished the menus on my main account I got the 6 star ticket & was sure I hadn't seen a fiver, but I had cashed them all in & couldn't be sure.
Just finished all the menus on my alt account 5 minutes ago, but kept them all this time, including daily workout tickets. No 5 star tickets.

Not really important at all but I'm curious if anybody's had one.

Not sure about the 5 star, but I have the same feeling about 3 star 😂 I’m sure I’ve had 1 but all I’ve really had are 2 or 4 star (plus obviously the 6 star for finishing the menus)

Just had a butchers, have a few 3 star jobbies. They're faded red in colour.

... .................... Yeah... bro. That was obvious.

He didn't even bother making those changes because they were irrelevant. 200 laps of the Nurburgring, or even any track aside from the small Oval track, should pay close to a million and more regardless of the difficulty.
You missed my last sentence.

They exist, they are coloured Orange.

I only got one so far and it was thanks to the daily 41 kms I did. Only got 100.000 out of it with 5 gold bars, some VGT car, a Ferrari invitation and a special engine part... Yeah... Of course...

Wow, overreaction a smidge lol.

Ultimately I was referring to the person who replied but quoted the wrong post - sorry about that. Don't really know if it required the comprehensive nuclear response though 😂

Ah, nice one mate. Never had an orange one yet. Cheers.

Not quite sure what's nuclear about a detailed response, but OK.

The bit I don't get is the random car parts, why not just give a voucher for a car part which can be used for any of the cars you have? Also, has anyone won a carbon prop shaft yet. It constantly pops up but not seen anyone mention it as a win.

I think I've got one, for a car I don't own.

It does exist. As a matter of fact, even the 6-star ticket can drop from a daily reward. I’ve had it happen.

Anything below 4-star is trash. 4-star tickets can give invites, not-for-sale parts and actual cars.

It’s mainly the parts I am interested in, plus the Porsche invite.

Yes but without being an actual game dev at PD you're not gonna know for sure how it works? I know the reward is the same if you soft reset the game, but that doesn't tell much, it just means the reward is determined before you open the ticket. The tickets themselves could be entirely random, random level, random prize.

Unless there's been a leak from inside PD on the algorithm, then I'll go eat my words.
But I think computers can't actually do true random right?
(In that sense all the games are "rigged" I suppose.)
So it's more about hiding that and making it feel right.
I think it FEELS off because honestly the payouts seem rather on the low side generally.
I think it would feel less so if you won the car more often OR if the credits were just even a tad higher. I think the sweet spot was missed a little that's all.
But maybe it's just me, I've gotten older and been through a lot of horrendous life & near death since the last gran turismo I played 6 years ago so I wondered if I'm just more impatient and looking for more immediate satisfaction nowadays than is typical in games.

Untill today I've got two cars: a Carrera GT (like 30min after I bought it...), and the latest Civic type R. Plus 500k frome the menu 39 ticket. The rest is pure disappointment.

That was certainly the case when I was programing on C64's & Amiga's back in the 80's. Haven't done any since the 90s so I'm not sure if there has been any clever advances in that department.
Be interesting to find out.

There's no chance at all. You will get one specific item, and not any of the others.

It's not even a roulette; it's a gift item with an irrelevant animation.
Or in other words. When the milage resets three could and should be a simple icon that tells you what award that is waiting for you when you complete the daily.

I think there is something appealing about seeing the lazy susan of prizes spin around. (At least until you get the small pile of coins once again and you really wanted that race car!)

Received one today for the daily workout and got carbon brakes for a car I'll never drive.

Yea they will use some form of RNG most likely which will be seeded based upon certain parameters.

The truth is that despite the smallest prize being only 1 out of 5 prizes shown, it lands on the smallest prize more than 1/5 times.

Are the odds fixes I.e its not a genuine 1/5 for any prize but more likely 80% lowest prize? Tes I think so.

Welcome back BTW Ms shuffle racer.
