Does Anyone Watch Wrestling? (WWE, AEW, TNA, NWA, etc)

My grandparents watch WWE on the USA network. They've been airing all WWE content since 2007. About 15 years, before it was on the UPN channel until they discontinued it there.

Just a reminder that Hell In A Cell is this Sunday. its very much more of a Raw show than a Smackdown show.

Six person mixed tag match has been made for the show between Judgement Day and Morgan, Styles and Balor. Plus a US title match between Theory and Ali.

Raw was pretty good last night, main highlight was a great pull-apart brawl between Rollins and Rhodes.

Watching AEW Dynamite right now, and I realized something. Miro in AEW used to be Rusev in WWE. Rusev... uh, Miro, is up against another ex-WWE wrestler tonight- Johnny Elite (formerly John Morrison in WWE). There was an epic rant by MJF just now before this Miro-Elite match.

Yet they never interacted in WWE as the joined and left the company at different times (even when Morrison rejoined, Miro was on Raw and already heading out the door)

Another ex-WWE star has made her appearance on AEW. Meet Athena... who used to be... Ember Moon. One of my fellow Texans, Athena, is all-Eite now.

MJF pulled a "totally not CM Punk 2011 Pipe bomb guys, promise"

However this is note worthy how he brings up fan altering opinions and pretending they had those opinions all along (which is a serious issue that's hurting the industry just as much as Vince McMahon, my big issue with most wrestling fans nowadays (changed opinions should be acknowledged as a changed opinions afterall)) but the note worthy thing is how those fans literally did what MJF was complaining about and were all cheering for him at the end.

Unpopular Opinion, but I still think The Miz has done the best out of everyone when it comes to these promos back in 2016 to 2018. He delivered on what he felt while still staying truth to his in ring character helped by not using cheap tricks like using his real name.

MJF has been removed from the AEW roster page and his merchandise has been pulled.

I have seen the promo, thought it was red-hot, but am now convinced the whole thing is a work though.

Honestly, the whole trying too hard to make it seem real is what's holding me back from enjoying it.

In other news the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship tournament is cancelled and the titles will remain vacant until further notice

You know, earlier, I had a chance to think about the whole Sasha Banks and Naomi deal. I am normally one who does not care about anything story-related. I'm one of the ones who feel wrestling is not in any way scripted. Based on what Sasha Banks and/or Naomi have mentioned, I sort of don't blame them for their relieving of the titles and walking out. However, it's a lot of responsibility of being like, "screw you" to your promotion under these grounds and merits as champion. I mean, what if Roman Reigns and/or The Usos were like, "I'm not getting enough quality competition" and decides to relinquish the titles and walk away from WWE?

I am a bit torn on this whole deal, but I do understand what Sasha Banks and Naomi did long ago and the reasoning behind their moves.

Breaks down as:
(Winner of Battle Royal) v.s Jon Moxley, next Dynamite (AEW side)
Hiroshi Tanahashi v.s Hirooki Goto, 6.12 Dominion (NJPW side)

Above winners fight for the interim AEW World Championship at AEWxNJPW Forbidden Door on June 28

Cody Rhodes has picked up an injury whilst lifting weights, he will still work the match v Rollins tonight but the finish to it has been changing all day, the severity of the injury is yet to be known.

This is a legit injury and its not storyline, got to feel a bit for Cody on his big return to WWE.

That is a massive problem too, given its the only Hell in a Cell match on the card and the only match with any actual storyline.

Such unfortunate turn events for both WWE and Cody.

If he wasn't sore enough before, then he's definitely going to feel it after tonight...

His mark reminded me of when Triple H tore a muscle and was just dark purple.

I'm surprised he still went through with that.

Sadly, that's the only note worthy thing about the event. You can just skip the rest and miss nothing

This was definitely one of the better Raws (and Smackdowns, even) in a very long time. I quite enjoyed myself and was intrigued with how Judgment Day was headed. I also like Ezekiel giving in to KO demand just because that what KO wanted to hear for the rematch while just saying he lied (I wish more characters in any stories did that )

John Cena will be returning to Raw on June 27th to celebrate his 20th anniversary.

Finn Balor turning heel starts to make more sense, if WWE remembered the continuity for that

So with regards to WWE in the last couple of days then I do have a few thoughts.

Cody Rhodes is incredible and so to is Seth Rollins, the fact that Rhodes worked a such an arduous match with a serious injury is mind-blowing and credit too to Rollins for his part in it. Rhodes has surgery on Thursday and a torn pec is normally 4-5 months out so he could be back this year but surprise Rumble entrant maybe? Either way he will be the biggest babyface when he returns.

Very interesting twist with Judgement Day, I felt that whilst the faction looked good that there was something missing but this could be it, Edge being kicked out and Balor turning heel and joining seems like a good move.

I enjoyed both HIAC and Raw last night.

Roman Reigns will return to Smackdown next week, supposedly!

He will actually have a title match against Riddle after Riddle beat Sami Zayn in the main event last night to earn a title shot, its also worth pointing out that Reigns is no longer scheduled to compete at MITB.

We also have a new Intercontinental Champion after Gunther beat Ricochet for the title in a good match. Lacey Evans beat Xia Li in a MITB qualifier and there was a men's qualifier between Sheamus and Drew which went to a double DQ after they just battered each other on the outside but they still continued to fight long after the match and had to be separated so this little story is going to run for a while.

They also mentioned that Cody Rhodes had successful surgery on his torn pec on Thursday (which he did) and that he will be out for nine months, I really don't think it will be that long.

Paige has put out a statement saying that July 7th is her last day of her WWE contract and she basically said goodbye she hasn't made an appearance for a few years and she has obviously had her neck issues, will be sad to see her go though.

In a shocking turn of events, Jeff Hardy was arrested last night for felony DUI.

I fear that one day he will be trending for more than a DUI. :nervous:

Jeff Hardy, Jeff Hardy, Jeff Hardy... get it together, man! You're part of one of the greatest tag teams of all time of any pro wrestling promotion, and you're just getting into all this trouble. This is awful.

[OMISSION] Get ready for Monday Night RAW tonight, meanwhile! :)

Jeff was almost four times over the legal limit.

Its amazing no-one was hurt or even killed.

After praising Raw last week, all we really got was a 3 hour Smackdown commercial.

Also that stipulation for Riddle vs. Roman Reigns is going to do more harm than good. The biggest flaw with The Bloodline storyline is they are scraping the bottom of the barrel for anyone to lose to Roman Reigns and are now going to restrict themselves even further. No one has been a believable challenge for Reigns since Daniel Bryan and now they are taking away anyone who could have potential to be believable
