Seth Rollins beat AJ Styles in a MITB men's qualifier so he will be in the ladder match, Alexa Bliss and Liv Morgan also qualified for the women's match after they teamed up to win a tag match v Doudrop and ASH.

you maybe would have expected the Rollins-Styles match to be the main event last night, but it was a pose-down between Lashley and Theory in which they had to flex their muscles, that was really the main event!

Minor detail came about the Jake Atlas situation after he was let go from his domestic abuse situation. Supposedly he was on a "pay per appearance" contract and wasn't actually fully employed with AEW.

Makes the whole AEW "All Elite" thing need to be taken with a grain of salt. Might not actually be fully with the company and just making off appearances

Some pretty major news has been reported about WWE in the last few hours.

Wall Street Journal has reported that Vince paid a $3 million settlement to a former employee after they had an alleged affair! She was employee as a para-legal from 2018-21 and was then passed 'like a toy' to John Laurinitis.

WSJ apparently have emails proving this and the story is up on their site.

My favorite part of the wrestling is the ladies in the ring, and all the grieving matches. And some are real with pain-killing action HD style!

Here are some of my musings from AEW last night...

* Man... Wardlow is a BEAST! Dude was power bombing all the security while in the ring.

* Tonight was the AEW debut of Will Ospreay. He seems pretty talented. He had a great match that he ended up winning.

• I know almost nothing about H. Tanahashi, but this dude looks pretty (pardon my language) bad ass. I'm expecting the Jon Moxley vs. Hiroshi Tanahashi match to be a smashmouth brawl.

Pretty good show last night.

WWE has not had a good 24 hours.

The whole Vince paying an employee stuff.
Sasha Banks reportedly being released, but its not confirmed.
Randy Orton could miss the rest of the year with his back injury, throwing the plans for Reigns at Summerslam into doubt.

Let me spice it up a lil' bit

We always had kind of an interesting boss here...

Vince has stepped down as CEO, Stephanie is taking over for now. Hopefully it’s Hunter whispering in her ear and not Vince.

The whole situation is rather shocking, not necessarily the fact that Vince is a scumbag but the fact it took this long for something big enough for him to have to step down.

I didn't realise how long this has gone down. I only remember the issue with the Edge and Lita sex celebration and how Vince would fire Lita if she didn't go through with it. I thought maybe things like that would've changed but guess not.

I'm surprised how immediately after leaving, Stephanie has came back to be Chairman of all things. I hope Triple H is able to be involved somehow, I would love his style of booking on the main shows and NXT again

Don't count on it. From what I've heard McMonster and Cronies are still head of creative...but if nothing else, this makes Vince vulnerable from within the company...in theory, anyway. I would not be shocked if in 6 months he comes strutting out on RAW, cleared of all charges, and rubs it in.

Vince will be on Smackdown tonight, in character as Mr McMahon.

There will be a big talent meeting before the show to discuss what is happening, the script for tonight was torn up yesterday but Reigns v Riddle for Undisputed title is still being advertised.

A passing to note in the form of referee Dave Hebner, twin to Earl and noted for his roles in Savage/Steamboat @ WM3 and the Hogan/Andre encounter where he was twinsapped with Earl and the shenanigans which led to the WWF Championship tourney at WM4.

The Vince thing at the start was poor and a bit bemusing, the whole thing was a ratings ploy but the crowd loved it though as they gave him a huge pop and sang along to no chance in hell.

Brock returning is just lazy and uncreative.

Two refereeing legends have passed away in recent days.

Awful end to an awful week.

Rhea Ripley isn't medically cleared to face Bianca Belair in two weeks at MITB for the women's title, apparently she had a few teeth knocked out and will need dental work, its a shame as Belair v Ripley would have been a great match.

As for Rhea's replacement, there was a fatal five way at the start of Raw to determine Belair's new challenger, it was Asuka, Lynch, Carmella, Liv Morgan and Alexa Bliss and Carmella perhaps surprisingly won, but Asuka and Lynch were on double duty last night as they also faced off the main event in a MITB qualifying match which Asuka won in a good fight, they both have good chemistry.

Elsewhere Theory v Lashley for the US title has been made for MITB after Lashley went through a gauntlet match, Omos beat Riddle in a men's MITB qualifier so he is in that match, the 'Elias' concert didn't really happen because of KO, Ezekiel and Elias were not in the same ring together but they was a backstage segment with the two in the same room, but that could have easily been edited.

Also Vince was on the show, but only briefly like on SD on Friday, this time he promoted the fact that Cena's return in next week, it also turns out that five separate law firms in the US are investigating the Vince claims, Yikes!

Yep just watched it back, fists didn't touch and it was definitely edited.

You know I wasn't actually convinced that Elias was Ezekiel until last nights show.

I am guessing the likes of the Viking Raiders and Xia Le are heels now. The Viking Raiders ran rough shot of Shanky(?) and The New Day last night. Xia Le was more a heroine figure. Now, seems like she's on the bad side.

Sami Zayn and Shotzi have qualified for their MITB ladder matches, interesting dynamic for Sami as he is trying to get in the Bloodline.

Pat McAfee has challenged Happy Corbin to a match at Summerslam. Viking Raiders returned and turned heel by taking out New Day and Shanky.

Fantastic commentary line from Forbidden Door tonight.

Congrats to Claudio on his debut and I really hope this AEW move works out for him, he cant be happy with how his WWE run ended with him losing every week. Jon Moxley is new interim AEW Champ and is the first person to win it twice.

John Cena's WWE return is tonight, they have made the Owens/Elias/Ezekiel match at MITB qualifier, MITB is this Sunday and there are still three spots to fill on the men's match and two on the women's.

Hopefully my Internet will be set up by then. I'm moving this weekend.

EDIT: Never mind, it's next weekend. I don't know why I keep thinking it's sooner...
