TNA was great back in 2006 and prior. Then the ex-WCW guys came in and it dropped pretty quickly. It also doesn't help that SPIKE TV dropped the ball on advertising and marketing the show on the channel.

Could be really bad news for TNA, they need to find a channel quick or that could be it, they had some financial troubles last year when they took Impact on the road rather than keeping it in Orlando every week, which cost the company more than it expected, they lost a lot of money and released quite a lot of talent because of it, but things have been fine since the new year though....but they wont have enough to survive this I don't think...

I really don't think TNA will survive without the TV contract. A web show like ROH etc wouldn't provide enough money in my opinion to cover the wages of their staff.

So Dixie Carter tweeted last night saying they are still in negotiations with Spike and its only reported that they have lost they're contract, so I need to backtrack a little!

But they do need that deal for reasons I explained yesterday..

How has this not been posted yet?

I did actually find it quite amusing, but I cant see they buying TNA at all because I don't think there is anything there that they want or need...

The video library for the inevitable Rise & Fall Of TNA release. More additions to their extensive library and Network. Plus, it's just so Vinnie Mac to hoover up the competition, even if TNA were never outed as actual rivals to WWE. The New Monday Night Wars? Please.

TNA had its charm as an alternative to WWE, but then Russo, Bischoff and Hogan came knocking.

Its Interesting you bring up Russo because these rumours that they are losing their TV contract from Spike have been brought about because Spike have found out that Russo is still working there as a 'special consultant' and from what I've read that's the main reason they want to cancel it...

....also whilst we are on the subject of TNA, Kurt Angle's contact with them is up in September and he is giving every indication that he wont sign an extension because he feels he has done everything and wrestled pretty much everyone there (he has) and wants to wrestle for another company....I wonder who that could be!...

Jack Swagger vs Rusev

Swagger gets injured. Dutch is looking for a replacement. He appears on the ramp, cutting a promo saying how he's found a REAL American to take down Rusev for good.

Then this starts playing.

So some breaking news, just found out that the WWE Network will start launching outside US from August 12, it will be available in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong and the Nordics and then its expected to arrive in the UK in October...

I'm hating the damn network plugs.
App is worse, you could see this match if you had the WWE app. I have the dam app I'm just not willing to stay up till 4 am before work at 7am with the rubbish they put out most weeks!

Swagger gets injured.

No. Don't. Don't do that.
Swagger is an awesome talent and quite possibly a future regular main-eventer. The level of talent the WWE has with it's younger guys right now is brilliant. Now let's not waste it like you did with Drew McIntyre, WWE.

Worst Raw of the year last night, can't believe that had that as a main event, a contract signing for a match no one really cares about..

They are pushing the Network a lot because it lost 10k subscribers in July and it has around 700k subscribers when they said it would have a million by April, and thats why they are cutting shows and talent because they have put a lot of money into it, can't wait it we get it on October 1st though!

$9.99 per person per month. $119.88 per person per year. That's $83,916,000 projected per year as it stands, assuming no subscribers are lost.

That's not that bad a projection, is it? And that's before a potential spike courtesy of international subscriptions.

Oh and err passing by. San Diego Comic Con couple weeks back had Hulk Hogan promoting Mattel WWE figures... and then Sting of TNA fame showed up.

@Liquid, they have spent around $115 million on the network so far so obviously they want to make a profit...

Alberto Del Rio has been released for unprofessional conduct.

Rumoured to have slapped a member of the Social Media team. We all know how much VKM loves his Social Media team.

That's him and Ricardo Rodriguez gone. Could possibly tag up some time or have one last nostalgia introduction by him, however ADR was very vocal about leaving WWE in the next year anyway so it wouldn't be surprising to see him hang up the wrestling boots now as I don't really see him leaving there on his own power for indy wrestling.

He was talking about retiring a few months ago....

He was floundering the mid card for a while but a few years ago he was winning World Heavyweight titles and MITB and things like that, last held the title last year when Cena beat him for it, Del Rio won it by beating Ziggler and turning heal in the process, the last title match he had was when he participated in Championship ladder match at MITB and even then he was just making up the numbers..

I'm really on the fence about the Del Rio thing, you cant go round telling racist 'jokes' about people but you cant go round slapping people either, but from what I have read he does have an attitude problem backstage with a pretty big ego...
