Drag tuning basics

- Practice mode (hmm, offline isn't the best place for the Veyron)
- SSR7 night
- Set your minimap to "fixed car", size 1
- Drive slowly to the blue phone stations. (where the start line is)
- You'll see 2 fat black lines on the minimap
- Place the triangle (your car) at the top of the first black line.
- Drag!!!!! (but don't crash!!!)
- complete the lap without getting redflaged.
- save ghost data

Done!!!


Well, I rarely do this (too lazy; off and on differences), but it might help.

Oh yes, the ghost! :lol: How didn't I think about that, thank you for the tip. Hopefully offline tuned launches work online too...

Ok, to my next question... I would like to tune the launch as good as possible without effecting my top speed. Since dampers work only when suspension is moving (launch) and dont have big effect on top speed, that could be a good place to start. I have been told that "squating" 4wd is always the best so should I be looking for soft rear comp. and front ext.? Although, it seems to make the front wheels lose grip which might efect the launch too. So should they be just the other way around?
 
Racing some ACR's last night on Indy, I became ever more frustrated :town: .

We would launch identically (in 2nd) and up to 70mph just before I shifted, we would be neck and neck.

However after changing to 3rd gear and onwards, I would be smoked a good 4 car lengths. :indiff: .

My gears are set up for Indy, so that I top out at around 162mph by the end of a run.

My ACR isn't broken in but 1001hp isn't far off, so I'm just amazed at their tunes.

Any ideas how they can just take off from me?

Well, they have 30 more hp than you have?, Maybe they have shorter 4 gear? It could be manny things. Two night ago i raced a gtr spec v, that accelerated neck to neck with me, all to the exit at ssr7 tunnel. He claimed to have 840hp i have 867...some how i dont think he told me the truth...
 
I dont have a gts 02, but i guess so. Usually i dont mind that high top speed, i just want to come there pretty fast :)

Pretty fast as in like…10 seconds? I'm not joking, I'm being serious. The GTS takes 35-40 seconds to run the tunnel, so I'm guessing I should hit top speed at 25-35 30 second mark?

I dont know, ask gme members on psn. Or fellow people that has gts 02..if i fix a gts 02 we can tune togeather...

'We' will become 'you tune while I sit in a clould of tyre smoke'. And not many people have a GTS '02. It's all GTS-R concepts, SRT/10 and ARCs……

There's a reason why almost nobody uses the GTS '02: The GTS '99 is faster! :P
 
Question #3: Is it always the best to use all gears (tunnel drag, veyron)? Just thinking that less time spent changing gear means more speed, yes...?

If you tune your gears right, there is little to no lag when shifting.
 
first off You always need as many gears as You can get, the more boost You get from the power band when changing the better, as for the 02 gts i have one, if anybody wants to drag one let me know.

You get 1030HP out of a ACR?! If thats true then that will play a role, yet I still feel my tune is incomplete and average.

Mind you, a person I beat today in it, claimed his friend had "The World's fastest Viper" . Of course everyone in the lobby was doubtful and I was only beaten by 2 car lengths.

Not bad for a totally incomplete tune against the "world's fastest" :sly: .
 
Shatt3ringkaboom or something weird like that. He has a gold chorme ACR with gold BBS rims. Also has a purple ACR which seems to be the quickest Oiper i've ever seen on the 1/4 :indiff:

Shatt3ringkaboom? I smoked him in my Viper not to long ago. That kid doesn't come up with his own tunes, he gets them from someone.

Well, the only ones that has fast care here are the pro tuners, and you know who they are...

Well, there are alot pro tuners actually, both here on gtp and on the gt5 community. Second, im not a pro tuner, and i never claimed to be one. But i do discuss different tuning theories so people can test and explore, whats wriong with that? As far as i know, the REAL pro tuners dont glorify themselfs, and they dont go around bragging. Remember, the ones who are humble gets respect and help, you cant be on top all the time dawg...

Proper english, well, i would like to se you speak swedish :)

Seriously? Picking at someone's English as an excuse to make them look bad? How old are you? I can understand what he's trying to say perfectly.

And I can very easily say that you're not a 'pro' tuner either. And nor am I. The 'real pros' are those monkeys at GME. So don't go around glorifying yourself as being a 'pro', or brace yourself for it all to come crashing to a halt when the real professionals come along.
