Nice to see there's a little bit of interest.

I was thinking of doing something pretty casual, as far as organisation goes to keep it as simple and fun as possible.

I could set up an invite only time trial each week. I'd like to keep ruling to a minimum as the in-game penalty system is pretty good, there's a couple of tracks which have some corners where questionable lines can be taken with minimal penalty but I feel like I can trust everyone in this sub-forum. That said, saving replays will be a good idea just in case.

Also, yeah, I'd like to keep this to non-DLC cars (besides the free ones) but if anyone is interested I could run a seperate time trial for DLC cars if we keep this simple.

Feel free to share your ideas. I haven't hosted any online racing since way back in the GT3 days so I'm open to any suggestions.

Really? Well that sucks. Not played the game for a good month so didn't know about that. :(

how would you host them in DC? just create a topic here where we sign up and then you do the invites to the PSN id? that would be it? haven't run any challenges since the server updates so not sure about the tries limit, but weird if it wouldn't be counted, this said it would be fairly useless to limit as one could always just restart 2/3rd of the way through if they make a mistake and I don't think that would be counted...

it tracked restarts as far as I'm aware? Could be wrong but I'm sure it does!

Just checked and this is what the leader boards look like now

Yeah, as far as I can tell there is no way of tracking attempts/restarts.

As for how I'd ideally host events. @wdreamsmaycome basically summed up my plan. In-game I would invite everyone who has 'signed up' to the series to each weekly event and I'd use a dedicated thread here to post details of each event, results, etc.

I can probably get started as soon as next week but might need two/three weeks to get organised and allow time for sign ups.

Sorry if I'm coming off as a bit vague, I'm currently on my phone.

Can anyone tell me what the exact size of the update is? My download counter reset, and it appears to start from the beginning, downloading all 10.2GB worth of the updates so far. I thought I could just wait and let it correct itself, but it was passing 150MB, so I said 'screw it' and I'm playing the game offline for the time being.

0.1GB, according to the Driveclub Facebook page.

Also from Evolution on FB:
It's likely that you are only downloading the small amount of data that you need.

The way that the PS4 displays what you are downloading does tend to confuse people, as when it checks what you already have and then downloads what you need it shows the total size of all updates so far.

Is yours taking longer than usual?

I'm having this exact problem. Good to know I'm not alone.

Have you restored the licences in PS4 settings on DC? Just a thought to try before downloading see if that helps as I seem to remember reading that somewhere before who had the same problem with dlc/updates in the past.

What Driveclub really need is a Lancia and Alfa Romeo pack. Including:
Stratos
Delta Integrale
037
Mito
8C

Evolution Studios might release another DLC this month.
Actually, just going back to that post on FB...didn't you pick up on what post it was in response to ;) the question was Nissan GT-R? Now, I maybe prone to reading too much into stuff, but I think that's rather telling that they should choose that particular post to comment on instead of the umpteen others...

Yeah, I pick up the "response" post. I seen the same comment.

Quick question anyone know what's going on with the Porsche license. I heard that EA's license expired on June 1st but not sure and with Forza Horizon 2 now announcing Porsche do you think that Driveclub or even GT7 may get them.

I hope so, I never understood why Porsche would ever want to appear in a crappy franchise such as NFS (well, at least in the last 7 years, everything after pro street). Imho, Porsche wanted to give their license to other brands but couldn't because of their deal with EA.

The was an article that appeared early this year in which both EA and Porsche were being taken to task for 'not wanting to talk about it' The conclusion though was that it must be incredibly damaging to Porsche but no one seems to know otherwise what is going to happen.

If June 1st is the expiry, that leaves a window open for DC to drop one in with the last season pass pack, assuming they've been able to secure the rights. Where did you hear this @adw123manu that the license expires? I will try and find that article a bit later on too.

Do we have much interest here for some weekly time trial events here? Should be real easy to do with the in-game 'tools' and long overdue, considering the GT Weekly Racing Series is a large part of the GTPlanet community.

I'd like to be part of these weekly time trials challenges. It reminds me the seasonal events from GT6. Which I miss... A lot.

Off-topic. I just finished the Evolution Tour. (I'm late. I know). What a good time I had driving la ferrari. The Rimac on the other hand...

I'm almost done with the Turbocharged Tour, had a great gaming time playing with the Charger and Camaro. I'm one star away from completing it, the damn Dawn Descent drift event has given me some headache. I just can't get the Camaro drifting. I decided to give it a break after getting 10.398 score when the goal is 10.400.
