the damn Dawn Descent drift event has given me some headache. I just can't get the Camaro drifting. I decided to give it a break after getting 10.398 score when the goal is 10.400.

This and the 'Eyes of the Devil' (I think) time trial with the diablo I had to have a lot of toys at :boggled: I's hard finding the racing line if you can't find the track!

I'm onto the Semi-Pro events now, & it's too hard for me with the pad. I'm not enjoying it anymore. I've been driving with a wheel since 2002 & am not good with a pad now.

Come on Evolution, add some Logitech & Fanatec drivers!

You'll get there, man. It took me ages to get the hang of those super and hyper cars, I felt like I was never going to get the hang of it, but I got there eventually. I'm still not a huge fan of the hyper cars but I know how to handle them.

As for the events themselves, try completing each challenge/face-off one race at a time, if you're not already. I find it can be a bit of a pain to do it all in one shot if you have to, for example, finish in the top 3 while also having to do a cornering face-off on a point-to-point track (so you essentially only get one shot at it).

Just take your time, practice doing your own time trials and single races. I can assure you, yelling at the TV is completely okay while playing this game.

Thanks for the advice. I have been doing some of the harder ones a bit at a time already. I'm just not enjoying the harder races, as they're too hard for me. To quote Jason Plato; "I ran out of talent!" I'm fast with a wheel, came 58th in the UK in GT Academy 2010 out of 120,000 odd entrants, which I was very happy about. Can't use a pad anymore though.

:)

I got a tiny bit more lucky in that event by like 2 points! lol

Would you do me a favor??

I dont have internet connected to my PS4, and I know there are leaderboards but Ive never seen them. I also dont know if there is a separate listing for every car/track, or if theres just one best time given for a track no matter what the car is. So the favor is, I made a time yesterday at Fraser Valley in Canada and I consciously decided to exploit whatever corners were possible and still being fast (not all corner cutting makes you faster.)

Because I am an out of control ego maniac I think my time is good, but I would like to know if it would make the top 10 on the leaderboards. The car (McLaren 650S) is I think the best all around Super Class of car, so I cant blame the car if my time ranks me at 12,765th on the boards. Would you tell me where I am at? Time is: 52.718. And its Fraser Valley, Canada (normal direction.)

Thanks in advance.
p.s. if i'm outside the top 15 times dont post my position- instead just post a laughing emoticon.

That sounds like a very fast time to me! I have done alot of Fraser Valley reverse and only the hyper cars get under 50 seconds, I am pretty sure that 52 seconds odd will put you in the top 10 for the 650S!

Okay, had a look (you can select each car for each track variant) and your time in that car would put you at third position globally. The number two slot has 52.362 and first is 52.228 - that is for dry conditions 👍

Well done.

Just to illustrate this situation of mine.
=(

I'll skip that for now. It's official. Later on I'll try this along with the Venom hot laps (the one from the original tour and another from the Elements tour. I guess. Haven't touched them yet.) and maybe one or two more pain in the back events I may encounter.

Being a completionist is no easy task I guess.

If you're having trouble, try doing what I do. Turn the game off and do something else/play something else. Come back to it later/another day and jump right into the event you couldn't get. Sometimes the frustration sets in and you just get stuck on something that really isn't that hard.

A good example is that Venom hotlap in the elements tour. I thought it was damn near impossible to beat the time, in about 10 tries I only managed the third time. I turned it off and did something else. Next day I put it on, went right into that race, and first try smashed the time, and ended up 50 something in the world! Suffice to say I was pretty happy haha.

Seriously, try it, it works!

Good advice, what's more, it isn't just a fluke either, as I struggled with it - then I went to do it a few weeks later on my other account and did it second lap.

Yeah I know what you mean. It def wasn't a fluke for me either. When I was trying over and over I had just played the game for an hour (bought the season pass a bit late so I'm playing catch up doing all the extra career races) and every attempt I just felt frustrated and just wasn't feeling in the 'zone' anymore, so I thought "right that'll do, come back to it another day".

Next day when I put it on I went right into that race and was instantly at one with car and track, no practice, first lap, I **** you not, and completely smashed the time I needed. I was stoked lol.

Yep I also agree sometimes I try play after work and it just isn't working. so in frustration more than anything I close application and fire up YouTube lol. Seems to work I have all stars apart from the stuff in the new tours.

It was my tactic back when I was a kid, in the days of the mega drive and snes puzzle platformers. If your progress stops and you're getting frustrated, just switch it off and do something else. Then when you come back your jedi mind powers have returned to normal lol.

*Edit. It literally works with anything. Any game, and even stuff outside of videogames. If I'm at the pub with mates and getting thrashed at 8 ball, I'll sit out a few games and sink a couple more beers, then I'll come back with a vengeance!

Thank you both for the info.
FWIW on a race track/circular circuit your second lap is going to be faster than your first, everything else being equal,
because on your second lap you are not depending on the AI cars speed at the line when you take control of the lap.
A persons speed is going to be better than the default, beginning the lap, so the final speed will be better too.
Unfortunately for me my lap was a AI started one (thats why you see the words 'Ready' and 'Go') so I lost a little something there and I cant be arsed to get it right.
Besides I dont have PS4 internet so I'll be quiet now and let it go...

thanks so much for the info! very helpful.

Evo Studios, make my day please :D

I'd rather have my car if we were to get a '90s rally car. TBH if we're getting Japanese cars, I'd be surprised to get anything that old. Most likely, I would imagine, we'd get a bunch of newer cars like GTR and LFA.

Sooooooo do you know how old the F40, F50 and F1 LM are though?
