Today is my day off and I am sitting here after the gym, working on some PS things, while impatiently waiting for the DRIVECLUB August DLC and update unveiling. I have a Twitter tab open as as soon as I see '(1) Twitter' I refresh straight away. I need help!

I have my fingers crossed for the Ferrari 488 GTB as the Lvl 66 car. It would be like Ferrari to want some stipulation for one of their cars. It fits so nicely.

If August is to receive a Hyper Class addition I am still hoping for the Maserati MC12. Man, how I love that machine...

I have a small question guys, well actually a few :embarrassed:

Do I need PS+ to play driveclub correctly? What MP options I have without PS+? Can one advance and level up in SP easily or is online needed to unlock the higher tier cars and tracks?

Are the free dlc cars directly available to play around with?

You need PS+ for anything related to Multiplayer. No way around that afaik.

You can easily level up in SP, higher levels just take some more effort. My advice for quick leveling: Get the Buggy and drift around the India racetrack, every round yields lots of "fame". You get all the cars eventually except the club cars.

For those five cars, you need either a real club with real other people or a fake one where you make another account and have yourself join your club under a different name.

DLC cars are available as soon as you pay for them :) (which means right away after buying the DLC).

If the new cars are at the top end of Super, then I'm guessing it'll be the 675LT and 488 GTB.

I would love the Ferrari 488 GTB but the McLaren 675 LT does nothing for me. It is no doubt a wonderful car but I am fed up with all the iterations of their cars recently.

The 488 GTB would suit a Lvl 66 unlock reward though...

The DLC and August update will be shown tomorrow. Sr Community Manager Jamie Brayshaw (@PhenomEvolution) tweeted so at 12:50 today.

I think that is quite possible considering Evolution Studios said one of the cars is very new. However, would the new Audi R8 V10 Plus be at the upper end of Super class though? Probably not considering the Lamborghini Huracan is middle of the class in-game. Admittedly the classes are not perfectly progressive in their sorting.

Why do you say that? Is it because it is turbocharged? I agree the sound is not quite the same but it's comfortably quicker than the 458 thanks to a huge boost in power and torque. Also, I think it is gorgeous although some others don't.

I am delighted to get it.

Boring modern turbocharged engine =worse sound + lack of personality compared to an NA engine, also outrageously ugly.
Compared to the 458 it is a huge disappointment.
Look, sound and personality > pure speed and performance.
It's a good performance car but a very bad supercar.
Don't worry, you wouldn't be the first to find my opinion weird.
 
I'm not mega impressed by it but it shows that Evo is still going to support the game beyond the point they had originally planned. Good outweighs the meh for me on that one.
 
So the Ferrari is free... and the other car will not be. How much will they charge for just one car? The season pass was good value, I thought, but the price for the LaFerrari for those who had to buy it was too high.

One car will be free, the other will be unlocked when you hit level 66, like how the 599XX was unlocked when you hit level 50 and the LaFerrari for when you maxed the Ferrari accolade.
 
For those that won't reach level 66 straight away will you be able to purchase the car?- If it is a new hatchback- Ford Focus RS or Honda civic Type R I would pay to have it straight away or be spending a lot of extra time on DC at nights :D
