Ah, Driveclub, you never cease to surprise with the unique choices of cars.

"You want a new Ferrari? Here, take three!"
"You want an electric supercar? You got it."
"A two seater track day open-aired car? Just wait and see."
"A Jaguar concept that'll never see the light of day? You bet."
"You want another Renault? Oh, a race car Renault? With a GT-R engine? Boy, do we have news for you!"

Keep being you, Driveclub. Never ever change.

Dont give half a fellatio about that godfugly 488, but that Renault is pure DO WANT! There is no way in the world I will unlock it though since my level is in the mid-fifties... But after that monster of a season pass, I have no problem with giving Evo some extra monies.

Still can't understand the logic in 488GTB. Sooo boring if you have the 458 and Speciale.

Progressive evolution. Same logic as 570S-12C-650S-P1-P1 GTR
I'd expect that kind of car selection in a sim but one of the best parts about Driveclub is the crazy selection of cars...this seems a bit too safe to what we're used to is all. Suppose its free!

Luckily it didn't take too long to get to level 65, 3 laps with the RUF and first try with the Marussia. Can't wait to unlock that french beast.

Do any of you guys have any tips for leveling up quickly? I'm level 47 and it's taking an age to progress just one level - I can't wait to drive that Renault!

I had a couple of mates round recently, loaded up DC & threw them the controller. They had so much fun with it, nice that it's a pick up & play title. First of all I showed one friend a replay & he said, "So, this is a video of real cars, right?" He was actually being serious! I had to tell him it was just a video game (Scotland with dynamic weather looks uber realistic).

:D

You could argue that having the F12berlinetta is also pointless if we already have the 599GTO... I don't get the 488 dislike :)

Sure, there are a bunch of super cars from other Marques which would be nice to have too, but the 488 is certainly not bad... It's crazy fast and still fun.

Better realism for Scotland would be just Cloudy + light or heavy precipitation, as that's pretty much our weather 363 days a year.

When I set it to Dynamic it was cloudy & raining heavily with a thunderstorm thrown in. It looked awesome! You could see the lightning lighting up the wet road.

Focus on the accolades for vehicles/locations and such that you haven't got levelled up, or just do long drift run on a circuit you like in a car that drifts well - your call really.

The first option is less tedious in my opinion, but if you like drifting and don't mind the repitition, that's the quickest way to build up the XP.

How often does DC updates the multiplayer races roster? Today I finally got to take the Z06 for a drive in an online race. Its been either Lambos or Ferraris these days in any Super only online events.

I think reasoning behind it is because it's a brand new car, and being the first to get it will attract more people to the game (or at least that's what they hope).

Wow.... Hyping two duplicates.... Way to go Evo.... Most boring choices in the world.
The the Renault R.S 01 a 500bhp Twin-turbo 3.8lt V6, a full carbon fibre monocoque built to LMP1 regulations, is RWD and weighs 1100kg. It's also built purely to race.

The GT-R Nismo has a 592bhp Twin-turbo 3.8lt V6, a steel monocoque, 4WD and weighs 1720kg.

Hardly qualifies as a duplicate.

I think the second duplicate he was referring to was the 488 being like the 458. I am on his side with the Ferrari but the Renault however...

Any of my one-month-old worries for the Nismo being a copy and paste were gone once I heard that exhaust

In a game that isn't a full on simulation, they're pretty much just more powerful duplicates of existing cars. The 488 is utterly pointless given we already have two 458's. And in Driveclub terms, the Renault is just a more powerful version of the one already in-game.

The Nismo is from last month, so not entirely sure why you bring it up? ;)
Although that too, is just a more powerful version of a car we received a month earlier. It's boring.

About the only thing remotely similar to an already existing car that features in the new Renault is the engne, and even then it's tuned differently. Hardly a duplicate.

I tend to disagree with the idea of the 488GTB and the Renault RS 01 being duplicates. Even the Nismo GT-R. It's like saying the Focus ST and the Focus RS are duplicates purely because they're both Focuses. Or that the S4 and the RS4 are duplicates because they both share the same chassis.
What I refer to as duplicates would be what GT tends to do for many of its Japanese models.

The A110-50 is effectively a racing version of the DeZir. The RS01 looks all new.
