Not sure when the "Random Event" option got added for single player but it's allowed me to get back into playing the game again.
 
In addition to my post about the double XP until Tuesday (Bank Holiday here on Monday, so technically still a part of the weekend) I found that entering the Sports class MP events netted me double XP regardless of which car I chose to drive. Some good fun had despite being somewhat tired and heeling under the influence of a litre-and-a-half, to the wind...I actually did quite well out of it all tonight.
 
I hate waiting for them to reveal or tease what the surprise is. They already said new tracks are coming, new cars, new modes besides sprint, drift options(?) private lobbies and custom multiplayer race options. What could it be? Grr... Now level 56.7 :D.

This game has held my attention more than any other game.

Wasn't the surprise the addition of Sprint Mode? After the hype I was so disappointed to see Sprint was it but damn if it's not addictive.

I notice the double XP doesn't effect the double XP you get from the DLC. So you would get the same results.

The DLC double XP is negated if you use the 488 or the MP event, it stops counting until you drive in another car, so that way it's not wasted.

EDIT: From FB -
Driveclub Your 2XP from the Boost Pack will be saved while you earn 2XP in the Ferrari 488 GTB. Same goes for Pre-Order Boosts.

The 488GTB, I'm enjoying this car actually.

Something cool I picked up,

I was doing the Evo Challenges and used the M3 GTS for a drift challenge. Now before the start of the event I didn't touch the accelerator and I heard the car start right before 'Go' countdown finished. Wasn't that taken out a long time ago? It was kind of faint but seems nice though.

Something weird I picked up,

I was doing the "Silent Night" event in the Midnight Tour Pack, had a crash, got irritated and then heard something since the car was silent & parked. A kind of eerie beat played faintly as the car was parked. I found the beat to be quite fitting to the surroundings though. Pretty neat if you ask me
 
You quite often hear the cars starting up. I am not sure all cars do it but some are just easier to hear than others.

I don't think all cars do it, the One-77 is definitely the nicest.

I'll try out the other cars today if I get a chance.

For the Silent Night event. I believe it's all over the track. It's a bass drop and a sound as if wind was blowing. It's a simple beat but it works. It's easy to pick up if you use headphones or a sound system

I know right :lol:

It's actually not specific to that event. That's the idle sound or just ambient music whenever you use the Renault Dezir Concept. It's so weird but it actually fits to the car, as if the car is alive somewhat.

I wonder why Evo did that for the Renault though.

Yeah, I tried it too - reminded me of the 'approach' sound of the Id monster in Forbidden Planet; a sort of heart-beat with echo...heard it at 04:00 last night :nervous:

Good find by the way.

Hell-bleedin'-YEAH!

This means starting DC all over again to get those previously missed opportunities, but I'm good with that. With a total of over six thousand pictures so far, I'm sure I can make that ten thousand without too much effort.

It also explains why Evolution have remained silent on this score - it would have been redundant work.

You have 6000+ DRIVECLUB pictures?! I have 300, probably deleted the same, and thought it was quite a lot.

Hey, the pictures you can get in this game are like nothing I've seen before outside of real life. I used to take loads and have become too tied up in fast time searching. I want to go back to the photography, I think it's tremendous fun and the results are nothing short of jaw dropping.
 
I think I must have 6000+ now as well as @MeanElf!..and another 1000 on Pcars. Very addictive once you stop on every race or replay and see an opportunity but it does slow races or getting your levels up. The plus side is Evo appreciate the community pics and put them on FB, the in game screen savers, menus in game and mention photos on updates etc..and are part of it. Even Rushy had some of ours as his desktop etc and as @Mcpartyman says they are pretty jaw dropping the graphics now.:P

The manner in which Evolution use our photos is brilliant and you find yourself consciously thinking about if a shot could make it into an update. If PCars had a Photo Mode like DRIVECLUB it would be heaven.
