I have a Thrustmaster t300. The only adjustment I did to my wheel was changing the angle of my pedals by using a screwdriver. The only reason I did that was when I was racing in the tour events the pedals would stand up when I try to brake hard.

Same for me  should give it another shot then.
I've been using the stock 720 degrees, with 50-60% force on my T300 and 40-50% on my T500. Drifting is not easy (especially with the T500, it spins crazy fast) but just driving is fine. Then again, I'm terrible with a controller so I have no choice :)

All this wheel talk and I'm just sulking in the corner with my unsupported Driving Force GT. :(

I'm sulking with 2 G27s...

Well at least the DS4 for this game feels great. Unlike another game which I'm struggling to get right.... That's beside the point though.

Anyone else looking forward to playing Driveclub at 60fps? ;)

Project morpheus doubles the framerate while keeping the lag lower than most tvs in game mode. :D

If you have intelligent frame creation on your tv put it to max and watch replays. Stunning!

How will they accomplish that? Lowering the resolution? I doubt that will look pleasant with the image so close to your eyes in a VR helmet.
I still wonder how VR is realistically going to work on the PS4. It seems to me like something that you really need a very powerful PC to use with mainstream games, and not just games of lower graphical fidelity specifically designed for VR on the console. And how many of those will be more than a novelty?

I tried this game 3 days ago. What a massive disappointment. Oh gosh.

This is the perfect example of todays games, very sad reality: Great graphics, terrible gameplay.

I think you'll find that most people will disagree with you on the last part. Very strongly so for many people. And even less enthusiastic people usually just settle for words like "mediocre".

For me it's the most thrilling and addicting "semi-sim" I've played in years, whether I'm doing races or time trials (drifting is the only thing I ignore almost entirely, like in every other racing game).

Sure if you're wanting a sim racer.

Terrible gameplay? Can you further explain this? Also, terrible as compared to what game or other gameplay?

You got some guts on your opinion. (not that you don't have the right of course, free speech yadda yadda)

Maybe the fact that the visual part is great, makes you expect the gameplay part to be at least a bit good, but no
Terrible gameplay? terrible? really?
Yes

I expected an arcade but it can be a good arcade or a bad arcade, this is a bad arcade

Terrible compared to simulators, and terrible compared to typical arcade racers too. Lets say mario kart as an example, yes its a typical arcade game, yes it may be more suited for kids, but I tell you its one of the most refined and fun games out there gameplay-wise.

As someone who adores MK and shares the opinion of it being one of the most spot-on and refined driving models in Arcade racers I do think you have misunderstood the game, Nixxon. Initially the driving model does feel sluggish and a bit boring but the more you play the game, the more endearing it becomes. Its not amazing fun from the get-go but its a definently a grower rather than a shower on the gameplay front. 👍

Everyone's entitled to their own opinion I guess, no matter how deluded..you'll find nobody here will agree with that statement but hey, if you don't like it, it's your choice..we'll still love it

In my view it's meant to be as sim as it needs to be so you feel like you're driving a real car and they all feel unique but arcade enough so it's accessible to any gamer with basic cornering skills. A good combination for my tastes!

Your reasoning being...? I mean it really does feel like you're just saying this for the sake of saying it.

I think its wrong in so many levels I dont know where to start. Completely unrealistic handling yet not so easy to control, typical unrealistic, annoying arcade motion blur as if you were going at the speed of sound, the AI can ben annoying, crazy and sluggish at the same time, so its basically similar to the classic NFS but a bit worse IMO.

Yeah of course, the people that made this game have to pay their mortgages too, I suppose.

Considering the fact that it's a throwback to Project Gotham Racing, which still has a fun driving model, it is actually walking the fine line between arcade and simulation. The cars feel weighty enough to not be cartoonish, and there's some torque steer, which I personally like, but there are large amounts of effects that have been dumbed down to make it as accessible as possible.
That being said, I believe that it is quite hard for Evo to attain a perfect equilibrium when it comes to physics, it's either too realistic when you have one side of the camp complaining that the devs made it inaccessible to casuals, or made it too realistic for 30fps, or it's too exaggerated, a la NFS Hot Pursuit, for any core gamer to take it seriously. Bizarre Creations nailed it with PGR4 (not with the bikes though, I felt they were rather awful), and Evo has definitely nailed it with Driveclub.

Wait... you're complaining about arcade physics in an arcade game? And complaining about dynamic AI (as if that's the only thing you can go up against)?

You're entitled to your opinion, but it kinda sucks.

Well at least Driveclub's gameplay isn't as slow paced and boring like that 'other' game which, IMO, is far more terrible.

You have two choices, give it a decent go or try something else instead but you don't need to come on here whinging on at least 3 threads when you clearly lack the interest to fully understand the game. It's got depth but If it's not for you then fine find something that is. If you only scratch the surface you will never know what treasures lay beneath.

Something new in multiplayer!

Some events now allow two classes. Did a couple races with my friend in a race with all the top performance/sports cars (whichever is the class with the C7 and green RUF) and then a Nissan Nismo from super. Seems Evolution listened to my suggestion!!! :D :D :D

(Or this is some sort of advertisement for how good the Nismo GTR is ;) )

@Zonda5 On the photothread @DCistimeless was posting an alfa 4c with supercars maybe from Multiplayer as well. I haven't had the chance to get on MP this weekend. Looks like they are mixing classes..Does this work? Will a good driver in a lower class win all the time if they know the track well enough? They may well do with some of the super fast consistent drivers on here anyway even starting last.:gtpflag:

To add to the driving model discussion: Every time I play PC sims for a few days then come back to Driveclub, it always takes a few runs to get back into the rhythm. At first things feel numb through the wheel, but then you realise you're not driving fast enough.

Once you get up to speed, and move away from the hatchbacks, the game offers a lot of fun. But it's definitely not "pick up and play" if you just spent a number of hours plugging away careful laps on iRacing or Assetto Corsa. Adjustment is needed.

@MeanElf small update-minor adjustments etc it says..I thought it might be a surprise car or track!!
Interestingly about the new tracks - I don't know if you ever play online, but I noticed recently that where the country flags appear in the pre-race menu, there is room for one more location...

Now maybe they had intended Italy to be in the original game but couldn't keep it in for whatever reason, but layouts tends to be designed specifically to suit the space available, also with such future additions in mind and so I have a feeling that we will (at some stage) get another location - maybe Italy, or maybe somewhere new.

New tracks though, I think we'll get the private lobbies first. I'm thinking that the double XP online weekend was a part of that; a load test to see how the servers and net-code coped. Other than XP taking ages to update on the leaderboards sometimes, I didn't experience any problems.

EDIT: Yeah, it's the Thrustmaster glitch patch.
