Something tells me that they would have shown Lambos already if they have them...

Yeah, I was thinking the same. But tbh, Lamborghini nowadays is present everywhere, I doubt Evolution Studios wont get its license. So I think they are saving them, like the P1, they didnt show it yet even though they have the McLaren license and enough time to model it.

What I'm really worried is Ferrari though. With NFS finally getting them back and GT6 still having them (so no exclusive deals involved anymore I guess), I dont think Evo would have any difficulty to put them into the game, but since they didnt shown any of them, I'm feeling that we're not going to see them.

Anyone wanna try asking them on Twitter?

Note that Lamborghinis are not present in Grid 2 either... hm.

I get a feeling they're going the same way as Ferrari...

Ferrari are very picky about who gets to use their cars in games. They basically don't want to see them get smashed to pieces because they're stuck-up imperialists like that, even though they're back in Need for Speed where their cars will be getting wrecked and rammed off the road by their faster competitors :sly:

Considering that Evo made a game where you could do this:

...I'm sure Ferrari weren't very impressed.

A teaser pic of a time trial in Chile from a new vid of Driveclub that is to be released tomorrow.

Not only that. The whole graphics are astonishing, except for the AA, which is WIP they claim. Saw it in action at the IFA some days ago - environments, lighting, textures will all set new benchmarks. Absolutely fantastic!

Great looking video!

Getting more excited by this :D

RE the cars, anybody know what version of the game were seeing? It could be the PS+ version which is why we're not seeing a whole selection of cars.

Is it me or do the physics look more rooted in that latest vid too. Also, was there a ghost per lap there and not just the fastest?

Looked very good overall.

There is hope after all, looks better than what I have seen earlier

That does look pretty impressive.

I'm thinking maybe a ghost for fastest 2 or 3 laps or something. Would give a good mark as to where you've lost time on one lap and piece together the perfect laps.

I dont know tbh. The damage model of NFS Rivals seems to be more 'aggressive' than DriveClub, yet they got Ferrari's. I read somewhere that Ferrari didnt want to allow stickers/vinyls on their cars, but then NFS Rivals (and Forza) do allows it, so again.. I dont really know.

What I do know is that Evolution would try its best to get those brands in the game, a game that is all about super cars. Lamborghini never had any problem with licencing its cars, as Jaguar, Bugatti (as far as I know) and some other brands that hasnt been shown yet, so I wouldnt worry about them. Ferrari and Porsche is where the problem's at. RUF' presence already puts Porsche out of the list, so let's hope the same doesnt happen with Ferrari, which seems to be more liberal nowadays anyway.

Cool thing about the new trailer, the car' clock is accelerated around ~30x (1min takes ~2s), which is what the devs said the time in the race is accelerated.

That was the first thing i noticed. Seems much improved over previous vids.

Along with how good this game looks graphically, i'm surprised not much has been made of how accurate the sound is...

The day/night transition looks awesome. I'm very interested to see how much the upgrade costs from PS+ version to full version. If it's under $20 it's probably an instant upgrade for me.

Unfortunately the thing that struck me about the sound was that it didn't seem to be at home in it's environment. Seemed that not enough of it was dissipating in the more open areas.

Haha, rooted. Could have been confusing for us Aussies.

Looks way to arcadey for my taste. But the graphics do look pretty good.

It probably is more arcade than simulator, yet you can't make a decision by looking a video where you use gamepad. It is supposed to be very easy to handle, because driving a pure simulator with gamepad, you'll probably end up spinning all the time or just not going fast enough.

Of course I can make a decision just by looking at a video. After all, I have my own taste and it all comes down to personal preferences.

A pure driving simulator can still be played with a gamepad, and without any troubles with spinning, crashing and whatnot. Some prefer gamepads, other wheel.

So again, it's all down to taste and personal preferences.

Plenty of serious simulations available and in coming, but there really is a lack of arcade games with good road feel and good wheel support. I doubt that Driveclub will fill the gap, but I'm personally not counting it out, purely based on it being an arcade style game.

The only thing that worries me about the game is how good the wheel support is for it. The official wheel doesn't have ffb. :nervous:

To be honest after watching the videos I decided not to buy it, but it's going to be free for PS plus so that means I'm going to play it :sly:

Some nice hints at how different weather conditions for certain locations we've already seen will be. I'm getting more interested in playing this, not that I was really put off by the game that much in the first place.
