You get more points if you're in an active club, meaning it has to have at least two members. You need to max out 6 levels in the Ferrari manufacturer accolade to unlock the La Ferrari.

How do I max the levels for that and how do I check my progress?

Keep driving Ferrari's. Driving one over a fairly fast track will see you finishing the accolade in no time.

I think you check your progress in the 'profile' section ingame, but I'm not too sure.

"No time" assuming you spend a fairly large proportion of your DriveClub time driving Ferraris ;). I'm rank 58 but a few of the major brands - like Ferrari and Lamborghini - I still only have a at accolade level 4 or 5. Some of the brands with many cars require a fairly substantial amount of kilometers driven to level them up.

If any1's interested we're starting a 25 lap endurance race on Lake Shoji in 15 mins. If you want to join us send me a message on psn, my id is "jp_footy".

You know what would really surprise me though, if Evo put Keichii Tsuchiya's AE86 with the 7AGE engine in DC. Man that would surprise me.

Ok enough wishlisting from me :D

Now chaps, if you wanted to do a chilled drive session, what would it be like?
Using the fill-ins below

I'd really like a continuation of the Motorstorm classes and would have so much fun racing a big rig such as the Patriot Thunderchief around these tracks...of course, it wouldn't get under the bridge at Goshodaira so I suppose that idea is out.

Driveclub is an arcade racer though. It'd be worrying if it was harder than AC. :scared: That being said, it's interesting that presumably the handling traits in AC have honed your skills in Driveclub too, more fuel to when Evo said it was a 'semi-sim' then! :P

This reminds me of something, though I'm sure it will probably sound dumb. One of my favorite things about Driveclub is that there's no aids or handling options to fiddle with, like TCS or STM or optional "simulation" physics, etc. I play all kinds of racing games, whether arcade or sim, but one of my issues with all of them more recently is that they offer too much variability in the handling model (to cater to everyone, from sim try-hards to the one-button crowd), so many choices that suddenly I'm never sure how I should be playing the game, and trying to find the right cocktail of aids and settings to suit the way I'd like to drive is time-consuming, difficult, and varies from car to car. For simulations it's a bit more excusable because TCS and STM are real aids that should be replicated and taken account for, but even then I was so incredibly frustrated with Forza 6 because, as strange as it sounds, as a pad user I was never sure how I should be playing the game. I know Forza's a very different beast than Driveclub, but anyway I'm so glad I can just jump into DC and have the time of my life and not have to worry about stuff like that for one moment, because the game handles brilliantly right out of the box.

TL;DR - Just another example of me wishing racing games were still as simple and fun as they were in the late '90s, which incidentally is why I love Driveclub so much.

Precisely. For example, racing games these days focus too much on multiplayer and while that's understandable, they cut back on the single-player fun out of it too. (see NFS)

I love DC for its simple approach to racing, with time trials and single races you can do offline, driving any car you want, at any place that's available. Its a no-nonsense approach to racing, and I think that's the best way.

Seconded. This is why I've switched back to Sony this generation. Their devs don't try and fix what isn't broken and change the status quo which was established pretty much in the PlayStation 2 era. They don't compromise on the formula by pandering to the casual demographic by following the latest 'trends'. Most importantly, they, especially Evolution Studios, don't focus on what makes a racing game popular, they focus on what makes a racing game A GAME.

Two things I really enjoy about DC:

1: The AI take zero prisoners. If you screw up, you're losing your position in the race. I'm not trying to jab at GT, but if an AI is about to pass you, all you have to do is swerve in front of them and the nervous-grandmother-behind-the-wheel mode kicks in, slowing them down. The only issues I've had with the AI in DC is that they try to go two-wide on extremely narrow sections, or if I see an opportunity to overtake, they drift into my path. I often like to overtake on the outside if I think I can definitely get through.

2: You can play races outside of the career, still make plenty of cash, level up your character and your car of choice, and get that manufacturer bonus thing (I forgot the name of it) for using certain cars.

I love the AI, I hate in Forza where if you accidentely bump into the back of a car they slam on their brakes and try to ruin the race for you. The AI in DC will fight you for positions and make you eat your mistakes.

I'll even say that they focus on what makes a racing game a racing game.
When DC was released, it was compared to Forza Horizont 2 in so many reviews. "No open world, no special atmosphere of a festival, just boring races from point A to point B". I understand that DC wasn't in its prime back then. But since when open world and atmosphere statrted to be such a defining criteria for racing games?
I'm not saying that FH2 is a bad game, really want to try it out one day, but back then a lot of reviewers compared two games which shouldn't be compared.

DC kinda reminds me of my first racing game, NFC Porsche Unleashed, I suppose that's one of the reasons I love the game so much. Beautiful scenery, nice music, simple races on any track in any car.

Forza Horizon 2 is, in my eyes, the best racing game of this console generation, a must for all XB1 owners. Personally, though, I'd compare it more with The Crew.
Meanwhile, Driveclub, yes, was obliterated at launch by Horizon 2, but has come back hard. IMHO, Driveclub reminds me of Project Gotham Racing (vehicle roster, gameplay) and Ridge Racer (atmosphere, soundtrack), with a bit of early Need for Speed thrown in for good measure.

So, I played "Punching Above Your Weight." All I have to say is that the Bentley Continental GT Speed is an aircraft carrier on wheels. Hopefully there aren't any races featuring it in the future.

1 hour of Driveclub maintenance just about to start. Just a heads up for anyone playing online. 👍

EDIT: According to Rushy, it just completed. That was fast!

Does this mean that the February update will be sooner rather than later? They have put updates through in advance before now :)
