Well. After two races I'm never joining another public racing lobby ever again. Assholes in Bentleys that take up the entire track then ram you off the road when you're next to them, and douchebags that brakecheck you on the final straight. Good to see how toxic the community is in just two races.
This is why I don't like the public rooms. Some people in those rooms would treat you as a brake pad.

*Proceeds to put you in an F430 against a field of statistically superior Ferraris and a lead AI car that can't be passed in the first race, and is impossible to defend against in the second*

Lead AI can be passed in the first race. And during second race you can finish 1st, they are really slow on corners. :D:cheers:

I don't mean to be rude, but most of my worst experiences in this game have been on Indian tracks. Dam Busters, Venom Hot Lap, and German Sports Car Series Part 1 (How the hell did I get better results in a Benz A45 compared to an Audi RS5?!). Yes, two of them were in the rain, but the difficulty seemed to be much higher in all of these events compared to the others in the game.

Dam Busters is one of the best events, admittedly on my favourite track, it's just all about taking it easy on the loud peddle :)

Just set my new best on there a few days ago, a nice 10:45 although it was far from a perfect run, got me in 16th in the global rankings so far

Standing start in rain with light high power car.The car remains completely stable which means no torque steer, the same story as in Gran Turismo.

Is it your moral duty to rail on every single game that doesn't have every tiny aspect of true simulation that will please you? DC was never meant to be a sim.

1:55, 2:00, 2:12. You can hear the loud noises I had been talking about before with the Ferrari FXX.

I observed that in the second race, but there's no way for me to defend on those long straights. The F430 just doesn't have the top speed like the LaFerrari, Enzo, and FXX. In Gran Turismo, you can defend by blocking the AI from overtaking and the "80-year-old-grandmother-behind-the-wheel" mode kicks in, which puts them back into line behind you. With Driveclub, if you leave an opening for them, they WILL take it and leave you in the dust.

Except it's a pain in the ass because the first four laps are just trying to overtake and get all of the faceoff challenges, then the last four are hardcore defensive laps where the tiniest screw-up will let the AI pass.

Althoug I really love the way this game looks, especially with the photomode filters now, I deleted the game from my harddrive.

I just can't get comfortable with the physics. It is so tough to anticipate a drift of slide. I find it really hard to be consistent and almost impossible to get that perfect apex again and again.

The first four laps ?? If you get the first 2 corners right then you should quite easily take the entire field before the end of the first lap

I guess this is proof that you come into every thread trying to create arguments. Problem is, the Driveclub thread is literally the most chilled out there is.

Oh, and DC doesn't even present itself to be a sim. Why should it have to include every single thing pertaining to sim racing games?

I want to like driveclub. I try but the handling... Even with the hardcore mode I can't enjoy the gameplay. Evo deserves the best with their updates but clearly and I'm not the only one, the handling is a big no. And I'm not talking about physical things like torque steer in an arcade game but the feeling. I'm lost lol, I know it's not supposed to be daytona usa or ridge racer but in my opinion I don't see an identity in the handling.
(Sorry for english mistakes)

That's cool. Not everyone can gel with Driveclub, I had my difficulties the first time I played it on launch. But I love the game, and from all the practices and multiplayer races I went through, the game just works on me.

For some, the handling physics will alienate them as it is quite different from other arcade and simulation racing games.
(Its basically a simcade, but since some still confuses what falls under sim/arcade racing game, its easier to put DC right in the middle of the arcade/simulation spectrum).

As it has a feeling of heftiness to the physics, its definitely not an arcade game, but its forgiving enough not to be classified as a simulation as well. Thus, sim-cade. (or Arca-sim?)

People who compare this to a sim or an arcade racing game are not fair, as Driveclub is better compared to games such as Horizon 2, The Crew, and the likes.

Its good that you admitted that the game doesn't suit you, rather than just blindly bashing the game. Do try the game a couple more times, and if it still doesn't work, surely other racing games will suit you better.

On another note, can't wait for the Regera if its truly coming! If I'm not mistaken, it only has a single-speed transmission right?

One gear, with an automated clutch and a big electric motor three electric motors to provide the torque to pick up speed from a standstill. Very interesting configuration.

There are plenty of cars which are a dream to drive. If you don't want to play this game anymore, that's fine. We aren't keeping you in a game you won't enjoy, but try to drive more cars and find something you enjoy. For me, the Jaguar CX-75 and Caterham SP/300.R are some of the most fun to play with.

I will say that I do not enjoy any of the drifting events. The cars feel like they have either too much grip to initiate a drift, too little grip to maintain it, or the lift-off oversteer causes me to crash on the first turn. For drifting events specifically, I only play on Hardcore to turn off traction control to give myself a better chance at winning. However, it feels like the slightest wall tap gives you a big penalty, and I can't get a speed bonus on straight sections.

The first four laps ?? If you get the first 2 corners right then you should quite easily take the entire field before the end of the first lap

I strive to push the MP4-12C and myself to the limits, but most of the time, it doesn't feel like it's enough. You and I are different drivers. You've probably played the game for longer than I have, and thus obtained more knowledge about each car than I do. The 650S or whatever the lead AI gets seems to be faster through the rain than I can be.

I guess this is proof that you come into EVERY thread trying to create arguments.
  • You will not knowingly post any material that is false, misleading, or inaccurate.
This is my first coment ever in the DriveClub forum,or for me is prohibited to post coments here?
I made my coment because there is new hardcore mode in the game, and I can see how the physics works.
Simcade or not I can post coments about the physics engine.

I'm still relatively new to the DC forum.

I will not create unneeded drama in this amazingly calm thread just because someone like you wants to trash the game. Give up. You do come into every thread trashing games. You're always in the GT forums saying "oh, this is bad, this game will be awful, gtsport will be gt6.5, hurr durr I'm super_gt I know everything about a game we've seen 1 trailer for", despite the fact I distinctly remember you saying that you were done with the GT franchise as a whole. If you're done with the franchise, why are you still going into the threads there to create drama?

Likewise, the first post you put into this thread, you're complaining abut a lack of torque steer in simcade/arcade game. By that, I guess NFS and The Crew should have an accurate model of torque steer too. Oh, wait, they're arcade games. They aren't supposed to feature every single little detail like what a sim oriented game does. Since when did games like NFS or The Crew, or even FH2, which are ALL simcade/arcade games have torque steer accurately modelled?

Because, y'know, I don't think they have ever had it.

Yes to be honest, like I said earlier, it's my favourite track so I kinda know it blindfolded..don't worry about trying to get the achievements and a fast time together..just drive like a snail like I did to get them all, then they're done for good and you can just concentrate on getting your times down..(that's if you want to):):)

Yeah, I think @Dan was trying to do the Startline version of Dam Busters, where you can only use the 12C. And yes, unlike the incredibly fun original on Pacesetters, this version is quite frustrating. ^^;

I'm glad this is PS4 exclusive, or else we would be waiting for weeks for the Xbone to approve patches like for a certain game and thus have delayed DLC.

I only won "Dam Busters" on either the 650S or the 12C. Tried the V12 Vantage and I could not catch up to the top 3 even from the beginning. Which is a shame, since the Vantage isn't exactly slow.

The Startline version is the one I got my 10:45 time on using the 12C :dopey: I like driving it for some reason

Oh do I love the Civic Type R. That car is such a hoot to drive.

Is DC the only game or infact the first game to have the new Civic Type R? Like how they did with the 488?

I believe so. It was the same story with the Mclaren 570S.
