Ugh, since yesterday I can't play online in Driveclub. Everytime try to join the race from pre lobby it says: Failed to join the game. Could not connect to other players. Other than that, there are only 3-6 people max in the pre lobbys. I can't seem to find any full lobbys as before.
I've been playing online for over a month without any problems. ;/

Any ideas?
Back when the game was just out and online was mostly very creaky, that sort of thing would happen regularly and then once that got fixed, it would have occasions when the online and leader boards wouldn't seem to work - it comes back, perhaps too busy, heavy internet traffic in general...who knows. On thing for sure though, it should be back soon - there are usually enough people telling them that something isn't working and so they should already be aware of that.

I had this problem last month and Rushy said to update PS4 Firmware or check you have the latest? 👍

From the function screen, select
systemupdates-ps_icn_settings-us-02sept14.gif
(Settings) > [System Software Update]. Your system automatically checks over the Internet whether you have the latest version of the system software. If there is an update file for a later version, it is downloaded to the system. When downloading is complete, a notification message is displayed in the upper left corner of the screen. From the function screen, select

(Notifications) > [Downloads], and then follow the screens to perform the installation.

That's not the problem @torque99 I have the newest firmware always. On neogaf some people were complaining as well, so I guess servers have some problems.

PSN's been having a fit all across the board. GT6, pCARS and Rocket League have also been in serious trouble for connectivity.

Been having the same problem with Driveclub as @Gr4ndy - tried it with two different lobbies a few minutes ago and it ''Failed to join the game. Could not connect to other players''. Managed to get into a Team Race on the third try though.

The latter has been an absolute sh_show for the last couple of days as well.

Encountered a new sound glitch. I'm doing the AMG tour and suddenly I lose all race sounds and menu music. I can still hear the "ting" sound in menus, and the PS4's XMB audio is fine. In the races, all I get is a loud "pop" every few seconds, which is a little concerning. As I'm typing this, my PS4's fan is spooling up.

I also had this and thought it was my audio cables & set up, I restarted stopped the game, closed and restarted Driveclub and it worked perfectly (Fan will spool if Harddrive/Software is stuck/thinking), It does it to me mainly if I multi task and go into captures while leaving the game running. I had the Audio thing twice now so it could be a little bug somewhere. 👍

I haven't tried it again yet, but I'll see if I can check in the morning. No one ever responded to my other sound problem; the Ferrari FXX makes loud pops when you are near it in a race.

Yes I get that too :sly: makes you jump..as in really loud..Maybe it backfires like thunder in real life as they had audio mics all round the cars

I don't know, but it's distracting and always startles me when I try to have a decent race.

Well, after maybe twenty tries, I completed the Handcrafted by Racers drift event on normal handling mode, because Hardcore isn't good enough. Like I said before, drift events are so broken because cars are so hard to drift in either mode. Drifting is ridiculously easy in GT6, because you can initiate, maintain, and chain slides from corner to corner. With DC, you just lose power and your car straightens out too quickly.

It's funny you say this because for me it is the opposite. I find in DC with HC on it's a joy to drift and easy to maintain as in GT6 I never ever managed to drift correctly.

It think it has to do which handling model suites one or another.

I agree that the drift events are hard in DC.

They're too broken to be enjoyable, and they force you to get such a high amount of points on tracks with almost no room to drift. How is ANYONE supposed to get a slide out of the last turn on Silver Lining? This event came out before hardcore mode, right?

Also, HOW do I see what sector I'm in? The last few races have been telling me to get clean sectors but it's pissing me off because I can't tell where one starts and ends!!!

I have to get back to those events because I don't remember them exactly. All I can say I found them very hard and in Normal Mode I struggled to drift a lot. You gain more points when you start the drift before it says you are in the driftzone and then you let it drift until you hit something. It brings the most points. Tidy drifting doesn't bring the most points. A minus here for DC.

There are some drift events , I remember the one with the BMW in India and the Merc from the AMG tour that were hard as nuts.

For the sectors I am not sure.

The split times will update when you complete a sector. You sort of learn where the checkpoint is after a while.

...and 'broken'...sorry, I really dislike that word in gaming as it's so often misused. You can drift in the game, just not as easily or correctly as you'd have thought. None of those things stop you from getting the scores though, so perhaps the best description is illogical. I always think of it more as power-sliding, but never as broken because even I, with my non-competitive streak, have been able to get all drift event three-star scores...eventually ;)

I wouldn't recommend using Hardcore mode at all for drift career events. They weren't built around that handling model so events may be literally impossible.

Y'know, after playing in Hardcore mode since its release, going back to the original handling model is almost impossible. I ended up braking incredibly early for a lot of the turns.

That being said, I can finally drive pretty quickly in HC Mode. If I treat the game like Gran Turismo/Forza and start braking at a reasonable point, and put the power down only when the car is ready, I can pull off some relatively quick times.

Ze long-awaited Driveclub app, only on Android at the moment tho. The app shows all kinds of challenges, be it solo, club or community ones.

It's on Itunes too. I've just downloaded and... I'm gonna say I expected something different. But, hey! It's me. You can follow the challenges updates, see what's up, check leaderboards and that goes for all kinds of challenges. Solo, club, community or Evo's.

I was also waiting for sth related to single player like keep tracking of your accolades, fame points, fame points for cars and so on. But that's not in App.
