Well, as I said I gave a go on the evil Camaro drift event this morning and I got 3 stars after few tries (very few). The thing is, I played this freaking event last night (no updates) and it was as hard as usual.

This morning (updated game) the car was little bit different (more under control and driftABLE). Besides that, I noticed that the game punishes you if you hit the walls.

Still don't know if I got lucky or the game made drift sweeter.

Sorry, I thought you knew that the main part of the update was to make drifting more manageable - I shouldn't have assumed. So, yep, drifting is fun now (but not for those who enjoyed racking up ridiculous scores by smacking into walls and barriers sideways...just like they do in real drifting events ;))

Thanx MeanElf for the answer. I knew there was changes related to the leaderboards and the hitting the wall penalty. I guess I got stuck with that info and didn't finish reading the rest. Lol

Nevertheless, great to know drifting is more "driftable" now. At least for the regular Joes like me. :)

That must explain why the zo6 corvette feels so lose n the rain in hardcore mode. Normally even in hardcore mode, the cars would try to snap on you but I hardly felt a snap. Pretty cool that drifting is not as frustrating.

You know, it's one thing to joke about crashing on the last turn of a race, but to actually do that is another. Case in point, "Dusk to Dawn" from the Midnight tour. That has to be one of the most grueling races I've ever done in a video game. Guess the pressure got to me at the end. :indiff:

I took the 3rd place because I had 64,000 points, but that wasn't good enough for me. Immediately after the race was over, I played it again and got 1st with slightly less issue, but the top 3 AI are ridiculously fast. We had a huge gap in between the rest of the AI.

Those new elite challanges are really well balanced. They are not as easy as previous ones. 👍
I'm on the elite 28 one at the moment, so I can concur. The handling seems more predictable and easier however (at least for me) as I see I'm besting some people's pre-update times that I wouldn't have had a chance of catching before.

Wow, this sucks. I'm stuck at elite 47, can't progress more as I don't have enough stars..... DC + SP all stars, No limits all stars, DC Bikes all stars... So it means I would have to buy dlc for DC Bikes which is not going to happen. Sad :banghead:

@MeanElf
I agree about the handling, it feels more predictible. I was able to beat both of my times on Venom Laps by a lot.

I just finished 45 I think, quite a tricky one with One:1. Flying finish.

Nice flying finish!

That's the tricky thing though - going for all of the elite levels does sort of presuppose that you the player have an interest, a wish (or maybe an obsessive compulsion ;)) above and beyond what is required, to complete the base game.

It was going to reach a cap at some point, meaning that players would need to gain more stars via the DLC. I understand that not everyone likes the bikes, but you have already done the bike expansion events, so why not get the DLC?

From another perspective, your personal XP level just keeps on climbing if you continue to play, unaffected by stars - elite levels are really just there for boasting rights, I think - and maybe as a thank you from Evolution for the continued support.

I just don't feel like paying for 2 bikes which for me are almost the same. I will get all car dlcs tho.
Fair enough, at least they'll help you get more stars.

Personally speaking though, I still don't mind them being just two bikes, or cars (well, three with the freebie) and the events for the price of a big coffee or as has been suggested earlier, a pint. I also think that each of the bikes has individual characteristics - maybe it's because I used to ride bikes once and it may be nostalgia-suggestion kicking in, but I can feel that some are faster on acceleration, others corner more solidly - sure, they handling model isn't fully representative, but there again, neither are the cars. I do get a sense of the differences, maybe that's just me though.

Where are the Elite Challenges located? I don't think I've ever seen or heard about them before.

Guys have you tried the Regera? It's insane! If you don't know how, go into final race series of the elements championships or the koenigsegg series in the downforce championship!

This direct drive malarkey is mind boggling! It just accelerates, no letting up until it hits about 350km/h

I'm in love with it. When can we finally buy it? The wait is killing me!

I'm just patiently waiting for the Supra, Evo TMe, Impreza P1, RX-7 and LF-A. Then you know, I'll shut myself in my room for a while.

On another note, does anyone have an idea on how to remove that green focal distance strip in photomode? It's annoying when you wanna take video pan shots and it sticks out like a sore thumb. Plus even if you move it out of sight, there's a red haze that stays.

The car is like a v8 powered remote control car. It accelerates extremely hard and it is easy to drive but in hardcore mode, it acts like the rest of the koenigseggs. I really want to know how to drive the xj220.

The Regera is utterly relentless. In the draft at Skno in Sweden's Finest, I was hitting nearly 240mph on the front stretch. It's stupidly fast but much more composed in Standard mode than the One:1.

I love it.

"GTA Spano In The Works" is a lot of fun. The car just feels so playful and elegant in the rain. If you want to powerslide, it won't hold back, but it won't go overboard either. Perfect balance even in low-grip scenarios is a huge factor when it comes to first impressions.

EDIT: Why do I always have a green Fame icon with a zero next to my driver level? Also, I was just informed I can participate in a time trial for Bandipur Reverse in a 599XX. I beat the time, but I have no idea why it appeared out of nowhere. Now, I can't play it for whatever reason. Could somebody explain, please?

👍

Apparently, the Regera will become the new most OP car in the game... It's as fast as the One:1 and as manageable as the FXX K.

The green fame icon indicates your Elite level. The time trial is one of 3 objectives for that Elite level, the other two being fame points and stars. Once all objectives are complete, you will move to the next Elite level.

That sounds like the Elite level you were curious about earlier. The event would have been the first. I'm guessing your level is now '1' after the Bandipur event. You won't be able to redo those once you have completed them, and to access the next, just go to your profile page and the current one available will be on the left section; bear in mind that each challenge's availability is dependant upon having sufficient stars and fame.

EDIT: what are the chances of two posts answering an hours-old question at the same time, eh?
