Even though I really dislike Inside Sim Racing, here is some gameplay with a Thrustmaster T300 RS. Looks pretty damn good.

What's up with the graphics being so dark? It's hard to see the road sometimes and i doubt it's due to Darin's TV settings.

Seeing this is naturally gonna be compared to FH2 on the Xbone (fanboys arm yourselves!), so far going on impressions only i like the graphics and sounds of FH2 a lot better. There's still something grainy and pixelated about driveclub's graphics compared to FH2's which looks a lot sharper and clearer in general.

I'm going to try the PS+ Edition as a taster when it comes out. If I like it, then I'll upgrade to save money from buying it on disc.

@5:00 the graphics look great

@6:00 the graphics look pretty average.

This is what I ment before. The graphic quality depends on the daytime. The lighting Model isn't the best. But even in the worst scenes, it looks good enough for me. The gameplay is more important. It seems people forget it when they see nice graphics.

The livery editor is nice. I hope we can cut our own liverys.

looks good, but too much drifiting events in tour mode. No mechanical damage and what does it mean with " it doesn't let you to manually downshift"

I did some research on the location based on a couple of the pictures with the castle, the bridge and the track name of Loch Duich and it looks like it's set in the west coast of Scotland around the area of the Isle of Skye.

I see on the social media thread that you'll be racing just the Scotish tracks, but are getting only the PS+ version for now - won't you need to be getting the full version to do that?

Didn't you see the sky at the start of his second run? It was hellishly overcast, stormy even.

I think I'll reserve judgement on which is better looking until the actual game is out and photos start appearing here - YouTube can be so misleading.

I'll be trying the PS+ version as a taster, I'll upgrade to the full version if I like it. Also I said I'll mostly be racing in Scotland.

Yup, hopefully you can turn on your headlights in those circumstances. Even still i'm not too impressed with the "next gen" graphics to be honest, especially compared to FH2.

Don't think you can turn headlights in Driveclub, Not sure, but one thing is certain, if you'e not impressed with Driveclub's graphics then you won't ever be impressed with a PS4 game.

Driveclub is currently the best looking PS4 game. playing it on a HDTV is a complete different experience, only thing i can give it a minus for is the 30fps framerate, not sure if it's a locked 30fps, if anyone knows more about the fps then let me know!

It had better be locked 30. :indiff:

Get a 240hz sony tv and turn on "motionflow". Sony tv's that are 120hz and higher have this feature. Hx800 models and up do the motion flow really well. All the videos I watch of driveclub look like they're running at 120fps, because they technically are, once the tv interpolates the image between each frame. It buffs up frame rates on anything. The "soap opera effect." :) driveclub video feeds all look like they're running at 120fps to me, but I know it's an illusion, a very wonderful one at that. Haha

This is a good point. I remember playing Little Big Panet (a 30fps game) on a 60hz 20" and then on my 120hz Sony v5100 with motionflow. Its a night and day difference. The game feels almost unplayable on the 20" 60hz monitor after getting use to 120hz motion interpolation.

I actually dont mind too much that this game is 30fps. It looks way better then Need For Speed Rivals, which was 1080p/30fps as well.

Let me put a footnote though. I don't mean to say the graphics aren't good. They are indeed very pretty compared to what last gen consoles managed, and the car models look great also but there's something dullish about the color palette in general (a grayish tone which is less clear and less saturated). Combined with darker weather circumstances it makes it difficult to see the road at times.

FH2's graphics look sharper, brighter and more colorful to me thus better IMO.

Sharper? brighter and colorful is probably true but it all depends on the track in Driveclub. but if you think FH2 looks better than Driveclub then you really need glasses, no offence.

That aside, FH2 is open-world and DC is track based, both games were developed in completely different ways, both games look great.

Yup sharper, brighter and more colorful also:

I don't really get why you guys don't see (or want to see) what i'm saying here. Just look at the road and the vegetation and surfaces next to it.

And that's exactly why they look less realistic and more game-like, because everything in the colors, reflections, shadows etc, is so precise that you end up concluding it must be done in a computer. You know what defines the real-world? Imperfection. Nothing is perfect. That's why GT5 was said to look better than reality, at one point, because of its perfect calculations of light and reflections and that's why friends of mine who like photography could easily call out Forza Horizon 2 as a game.
