Im happy they tried something else, theres too many sequels in gaming. Makes Hollywood look like the kings of originality.

I dont know if Evolution will survive this. Just when I thought a game couldnt launch with an online mode more broken then Battlefield 4 I was wrong. I will never buy another Evolution game and I wish there was a way I could get my money back because only half the game works. It was sold as an online racer so much so that people wondered if it even had a singleplayer. So when the online doesnt work -
Yeah, but it's not even two weeks after launch (for the US - barely more than a week for the UK.) BF4 took months I seem to recall to nail down properly. This looks like it will get sorted really quickly now, so getting rid of the game before then would be sort of pointless really, certainly as the fully functioning thing is just around the corner.

You said yourself that the photomode was something you were really looking forward to - surely a bit more patience will reward you with providing that, certainly better than getting rid of the game and then having to buy it all over again. Go play something else for a while - enjoy life, game setbacks are only temporary ;)

yes online is broken, connection to servers is not stable, but for now it doesn't bother me ... Time Trial is quite good and leaderboards most of the time do work, then progress in Tour with funny AI races and I still don't know every track good enough to be able drive fast in night setting, nevermind online racing in night setting.
DC is like any other driving game, if you want to go fast you need to know the track very well. If I think about it DC is for me like Rally game with road cars :)
And maybe this is why DC got bad reviews, it actually needs skill to be good, while open world racing games can cover it up and if someone is not good enough in driving (aka reviewers), they can always drive in fields around road or do whatever they want.

So i was digging around the PS Store and I came across this when I looked at DriveClub. I don't own the game but I know that a free version is coming soon.

Even though the online in this game is as broken as GTA's when it started, this game is awesome. Driving is just purely fun, the cars and tracks are beautiful, it's just such a blast to drive. I haven't had this much fun just driving since Forza. Never have I had it in any GT game.

That's sort of what I meant with what I suggested to Earth, as also @novcze suggested, SP TT or arcade races can be a great bit of fun for the meantime

Whilst I've really enjoyed the four GT games I've played, I must admit to having quite a bit more fun with this one at present. GT for me is more about the game logevity though.

I m really torn. On the one hand, its fun as hell once you are on the track. On the other hand, successfully racing 5 times in multiplayer in 20+ times of trying just sucks big time. Plus I managed to set the second fastest global time on the leaderboard of a Chile A to B race with the A1 Quattro and my time just doesnt show up. Sod that. :grumpy:

It just takes some time. It's annoying it doesn't update straight away but it does get there. It's a shame the state that it is in as when it works, it is so much better.

Battlefield 4 Online took months to refine, but it was largely working fine within 2 weeks after launch. Even on Day 1 most of the online gameplay modes were playable, outside of random crashes. Driveclub is so much worse. For the first 10 days I wasted about an hour each day attempting to race online, and maybe I got to race twice.

I wish this was something they could get sorted out quickly, but Im very concerned it will be a long term problem. The reason the game was delayed in the first place was the network issues. They had to be rebuilt from the ground up in some instances. If it took them 12 months to fix a network that has gone down again, I dont see how it can be a quick fix at all. Im worried all the features like face offs, leaderboards etc is just too much for their infrastructure, and the only real fix is less player traffic.

Wanting my money back for the game has to do with the state its in right now rather then what it will become. If I could do it over again I would wait until the network issues were fixed and all the updates were released before buying. It feels like I bought a broken game still in beta.

Its frustrating because if I bought any product besides a game that didnt work as it was suppose to it would have gotten returned. But for whatever reason games arent so easily returned, even if they're buggy or broken. Its things like this that make me hate DLC and the online era of games. Its like developers now know they can release unfinished games and then promise to finish them at a later point in time. Theres no such thing as a 'deadline' anymore. And its hurting the quality of games on Day 1.

IMO the best thing Evolution could do is make the season pass 75% off for everyone who bought the game while online is broken and refund the difference to those who already got the season pass.

After I got Forza Horizon 2, I haven't thought for a second to touch Driveclub again.

And I actually sort of tried to enjoy Driveclub. Kinda.

To bad it's PS Store bought (though cheaper), or I could trade it in.

Anyone else noticed how the times achieved during retries do not get shown on the leader-boards? I've had this several times now and it's really disheartening. Yesterday I had great fun on the best of british event with the Lotus Exige. After having lots of goes to try to achieve the 2:51 target time to beat, suddenly something clicked with how to drive this car which then made it so much fun to drive and a couple more tries and I managed a 2:50:3xx (particularly good for me). I don't remember exactly as I was hoping this time would show. But it doesn't on either the Friends List board or the other main Global TImes board. And I've had other occasions with the same happening, beating times on my Friends List board, but it not being shown and it isn't a matter of waiting for the board to update. I checked again this morning for the event mentioned above and the best time still doesn't show. What is weird is that my best time shown does not achieve the target time, but the confirmation showing I have achieved that target, the yellow block background, is clearly shown. So what is it with times achieved during retries?

So since there's all these complaints I'm guessing I shouldn't bother getting this game? It's a shams coz I really want a racer on my ps4 guess ill wait till gt7 also is the free version out yet?

It's a decent game but it's riddled with problems right now. Also the free version is not out yet.

Ha that would be right. There never was a free version to begin with :P. I guess I'll be skipping it I don't want to play a game filled with bugs that the company doesn't care about. If there ever is a free version I'll get it lol.

Wonder what will happen to you when they release photomode

I really want photomode...

It would be terrible for my racing schedule, but nevertheless, I really want it...that and the dynamic weather. I have my arcade races set to random weather and it's just luscious.

Multiplayer really sucks Bronto balls. Connecting takes ages (if it works at all) and even if you re successful, there is nothing but crashkids everywhere and no way to open up private lobbies. I just got slammed in the wall so hard, by a dood who just didnt brake in a red 9o° turn, that my car landed on its roof. Screw that.

Dont really get what they are trying to do with the current multiplayer system in general. I m already tired of the six (!) events to choose from that are always the same cars and tracks. Never even seen a race in Scotland or with compact cars. They throw half the games potential to waste, its so mighty, frustratingly stupid.

So the Season Pass is R370 ($33 / 20 Quid). Do you guys think its worth it?

38 New Cars, More Liveries and 170 more events. Would that constitute to solid DLC?

Better than most tbh, I don't know their schedule as far as when they release certain stuff and how much, but that seems to be pretty legit.

That's potentially a year of DLC if they play their cards right, or 11 months or so. 10 events each "DLC" and 3-4 cars every month, that's pretty solid.

Edit; Waiting for them to fix MP completely to pick this game up, anyone with me on that?

It sounded good initially but I'm having my doubts now. I haven't even opened the game yet (Varisty exams).

Maybe I'll buy it when I have cash again
