I got the impression that they will say when, once the game's online is deemed solid. One of the recent update messages on FB said they would announce it then.

Of course, the current message has been swamped by idiots who are blaming Evoloution Studio for not being able to play online, and clearly haven't seen that PSN itself has been having problems.

Yeah, PSN has been rough lately, GTA had some issues last night with connections and also CoD was struggling as well

Edit: Season pass priced at $25.00 and has a load of DLC, Evo Studios are doing it right 👍

A word of warning, the season pass will only get you price reductions on the DLC that's being charged for such as livery, tour and car packs - okay, it's quite a substantial reduction at 60% but I thought it best to mention, just in case.

EDIT: actually, I'm not so sure now. The above is the impression I had from reading their article previously on the DLC release, but looking at the figures cited:
...There will also be a Season Pass available for €24.99 so that you can pre-order the DLC packs and get a huge saving. In fact, it works out that with the Season Pass you’ll save more than 60% on the cost of purchasing these packs individually, as the total value of the packs will be €75.84 (based on regular price on PlayStation Store)
more than 60% of the total pack price will leave the price of the season pass.

Am I seeing that wrong...again?

I played last night for 3 hours and everything except Challenges was working really well.

I went into single player time trials and the leaderboards were great. you can get lap comparisons for all individual cars at each circuit. As you drive around a circuit steadily decreasing your lap time, the game automatically loads the next coule of ghosts in the list for you to get past. it was really well done and the best part of the game so far. At one point I was in the top 2 in the world for a car/track combo (certainly won't last).
Yeah, the PS4 connectivity seemed fine - maybe it was just a few Destiny-heads who were kicking up a fuss.

The TT leaderboard updates have actually been working for a few days now, and I too like the whole loading of the next challenge/ghost aspect of TTs.

€24.99 (season pass) is 33% of €75.84 (individually priced) so the saving is indeed "more than 60%".

Don't panic Captain Mainwaring.

Does that make you Corporal Jones? ;) With the way my memory is playing up though, I think I'm probably more like Jones or Godfrey. Cheers for the confirmation 👍

Can someone explain drifting to me in this game? It just doesn't work. :odd:

Basically jam on the ebrake and throw the car in at a stupidly high angle and you'll somehow get points.

It's really quite horrible and would be halfway realistic if Schrodinger's Traction Control wasn't a thing in this game.

It's a mystery to me too - sometimes I get good points, other times I pull a good tight drift around the apex and get less points...

I think it's meant to be a balance between keeping a high speed and good drifts.

Eh, still $25 for a 60% off is great in my book

TCR
I'm totally confused.

So if I purchase the Season Pass, that entitles me to 60% off the future DLC, is that right?
I think what was meant, and the general consensus is that as the entire DLC will cost 75.00 Euros, and because you pay 25.00 you will be getting it all for more than 60% cheaper.

I thought that now I have paid my £20 that all DLC is free, am I right ?
What have I started? I think that's correct Chris. Thought I'm not 100% certain and apologise if I have mislead anyone.

I've been debating on whether to get this game. Should I?

Is it worth getting the season pass too?
I think so, but that really depends on what you want from the game. I'm assuming that you've read some of the semi-reviews here?

There appear to be about half a million people who have the game now judging by the leaderboards, so there are plenty of people to challenge yourself with (though in TT the game will only pit you against ghosts of a similar level to your own.) It's vibrant, visually drawing plus it feels and sounds good - but that's just what I think of it.

Shall I say that I'm still having difficulty going back to GT6 - even though it's a very different game in style and aim.

Mainly a game that will keep me coming back even when I've collected all the trophies. Something that's fun and exciting and challenging all at the same time.

Just loaded the game up again and there is a patch downloading and installing. No idea what it's for...

Well probably this from their FB update on Oct 28:

"Improvements continue to be made to the servers and our next significant game update will be released this week. This will boost connectivity and provide a better overall experience."

Highlight the Driveclub (or any game) in the start menu, and press "Options" button. You can see an "Update History". 1.05 is connectivity issue fixes, and a thank you from Evolution studios.

With news that PS plus is still a long way away, I'm thinking about looking for a used one and capitalizing on how broken it is to get it for cheap (will probably sell rivals too).

Well, I'd look at some online vids first (if that's what you also do in a game) as that might be a make or break thing for you. On the PS4 there is a new link on the library direct to all current feeds, so you can quickly view some live online gameplay. Also regular gameplay if there are those doing that.

I'd say the above would give you a stronger idea than any review, unless it was someone you really trusted.

Message from Shuhei Yoshida - President of World Wide Studios

Hi everyone,

I wanted to provide you with the latest update on DRIVECLUB. Unfortunately, the road to launch has been a little rocky, and we are truly sorry that so many of you have not been able to enjoy everything that we had hoped DRIVECLUB would deliver.

We have been listening to your feedback and realize that patience understandably is running out. Evo is working around the clock to close the gap, and we have deployed additional engineering resources to help resolve the remaining issues as soon as possible. Unfortunately, the time frames required to roll out the fully connected experience will be longer than anticipated and we do not have an exact time frame for when they will be resolved. We will continue to update you on progress and you can find the latest info on the DRIVECLUB Facebook page.

We are also very conscious that we have disappointed so many of you who were looking forward to playing the promised PS Plus Edition. Our first priority is to provide you with the best possible experience while playing DRIVECLUB. With the high volume of new players and additional server load the PS Plus Edition is anticipated to bring, we are currently not confident that we can guarantee the best online experience. Until we can ensure that everyone can enjoy the full social connected online experience, we will be postponing the release of the PS Plus Edition until further notice.

On behalf of WWS we are enormously grateful for your patience and we thank you for the continued support and encouragement. Again, we sincerely apologize for the delay. We are committed to giving you the best racing experience on PS4 – it’s taking a little longer than we hoped.

Thanks,
Shu

So basically all those people who wanted to try the free version have basically been told it's not going to happen. :grumpy:

I would not want to be the guy behind the server coding, well I would since he probably gets paid a lot of money but you get the picture.
