I wouldn't say it's too much to worry about. I saw similar weird numbers during the first few days with the shown target target time you were racing against from the nearest person. It got sorted.

It means 59mph is a shocking effort ......... Only joking, it's a problem witht the server get drift scores mixed up with speed scores they know about it.

I took the plunge and bought this last night. Discovered I had £5 in my PSN wallet so I got it for under £30, so I know what I'm playing this weekend. Just need to finish off TLOU now.

French PlayStation-Chef Philippe Cardon:

"There is an error in the programming code of Driveclub that prevents enough players being online at the same time. That code is currently rewritten, but that takes much more time than just adding 1000, 2000 or 3000 new servers. We need more than just a usual patch, the problem is within the code and the the method of how the network accepts sessions. I dont have any idea when the problem is going to be solved."

Wow, just wow.

That'll be a change of pace, from sneaking around to blasting along country roads at full throttle. I hope you enjoy.

I've watched a few gameplay videos today and I think I'm going to enjoy it. Then GTA 5 will be out and I can swap to that if I become bored with the online issues.

"The game is under-cooked! Shocking!"

this game is probably one the the biggest fail in recent videogame history, if not the biggest, the problem is that is the only racing game to be played on ps4. Again just reallt bad choices from sony, releasing a console without a ****ing decent game. i'm so pissed off.

GT6 was only last year though ;)
How about keeping GT6 and your constant need to opine about it out of this thread, eh?

I still feel that BF4 was in worse shape overall. Why the anger though for not having a racing game on the PS4 - do you not have another racing game to play currently?

Not at all, but your frequent need to belittle a game you haven't played, does get wearying...
I'm afraid that need will pop up it's head once in a while until PD get their act together, but you're right we are going off topic so let's focus on Driveclub. How you like the ISR review?

I have a feeling this is why Sony will show alot of stuff at Las Vegas next month, I bet they're pissed to be honest.

I decided to get the game on disc after giving up waiting for the PS+ version. After a couple of events in the Mini GP, it's been quite enjoyable and I've yet to get into the real meat of the game after I downloaded the AMG GT.

...How you like the ISR review?
I found it odd.

Firstly, what is a sim racing site doing reviewing a non-sim game - or do they do that as well? Just seemed strange, especially as he kept insinuating from a sim driver's viewpoint as if DC was meant to be a sim, which has been known for quitew some time, it is not.

Anyway. As reviews go, he missed some things and flagged other stuff that he shouldn't have, at least not in the way he did.

Darin mentions Euro-only cars; there are another thirty-eight still coming and no one knows if those will or won't include cars from other regions, so that's a bit of an odd thing to point out in such a tone of disappointment. I might not agree with his preference, but could understand it if that comment was added once the complete package was known...but certainly not beforehand.

Grinding? I certainly have re-done a few events and know of several grinding methods but I don't think the game requires that you grind in the way that GT does. I mean, I now have all of the cars unlocked and have just completed the Pro level...

He finds the career dull, linear and non-organic. Truthfully, I'd like to hear more from him about that, as those are just words in a void with nothing really to back them up to or give us some meaning in context to DC.

Then he mentions not liking analogue brakes in a sim...again, it's not a sim, he knows this. He has said it himself, so why mention that in a review about something that the game is not? Odd, like I say.

Also, AIs do not ram 'all of the time'. It happens frequently, true, and is annoying, but not all of the time. Words are important, especially for a reviewer. The AI if anything is inconsistent.

He has good points on the AI rubber-banding however, which is clearly a lie on Evo's part. It is on balance though less noticeable than say with GT6 because the field isn't so spread out in DC - therefore you tend to stay in the moment of the zone more thoroughly.

Another good point is the damage, though not for the reasons he cited - as far as I'm aware no one at Evo ever claimed that damage would be limited due to any manufacturer's contractual stipulation. Also, damage having consequences in Motorstorm? It was only ever cosmetic (visual) as I never felt I had a wheel almost hanging off like say I did in Dirt 3 or Grid.

Agreed that you cannot compare FH2 with DC as they are quite different styles of driving game (of course, people will continue to do so...) Why though would he expect DC to be along the lines of GT or F5...? Just because he expects something and it isn't that way, or was neaver meant to be...he looks at it less favourably score-wise?

And lastly, for clarity: The year long delay was for the real-time social connectivity part of the game; the bit that still doesn't work fully, and not other game features such as dynamic weather. Also, you cannot completely tailor the DS4 controller button mapping to your taste, the direction buttons do not appear on the choice drop-down...so I wonder why he says that you can.

So not really much of a review, but more of a personal opinion without apparent checks or control which in truth should be filed away amongst the opinion hawkers' section of the 'net. A professional review needs to be like proper journalism, correct and verified for it to mean anything at all, surely.

Is it just me or does the game sound cut out on occasion? It got really annoying when I played it yesterday.
I haven't really noticed anything like that yet. Well, there was the one time when I had absolutely no sound whatsoever, but that was due to the new tuner/amp playing up.
