I started to play the game 10 days ago. I really love the graphics, weather, sense of speed.....but the physics with the dualshock4.....ishh. Now that I unlocked more powerful cars I can't drive properly. With the triggers I don't know how to handle corners. Too much oversteer, understeer, I spin out after a bump and I don't enjoy the drifting challenges.

Are you using manual gearing? I found that was better for more control in the corners. Also, feathering the accelerator (for me) seems pretty good with the DS4.

of course they don't. Completely different developers.

Why not? Both companies are owned by Sony and some car modelling is often outsourced, so car models can definitely be shared between companies.

However, Paul, the Game Director, was asked if they had any collaboration with PD and he said no. Sorry, I no longer have the link.

I started with manual (as I always do in every driving game) but then I ended up with automatic after I read a few advises on neogaf. I have the impression it makes me go faster.
Now that I'm more experienced I'll try to switch back to manual and see what happens.

Welp just ordered this even though I'm broke

Driveclub made me broke as well but I love every minute of it!

Just a random question, are the buttons on the DS4 Pressure Sensitive? I can't feather the throttle and brake with the buttons.

Buttons, no - just the triggers, I think. L2 and R2 are great for brake and accelerator respectively and you can get extensions for the triggers which will give you more sensitivity.

I was looking on trying these out sometime soon, seen them online a few times and thought Hmmm..

Just imagine how horrible it'd be to try and control the game with a Move controller :embarrassed:

Yep  , could have waited a week or two and would have got it for cheaper but after the semester I've had I just went to my parent and said I need this now  can not wait for it.

Just to be clear, I don't have those extensions myself, but I have heard good things about them.

As for the motion sensor, I happened to chance upon some live twitch gameplay last night from someone on my friends list...it seemed to be okay (from a spectators viewpoint at least ;))

I don't think he's on here, so unfortunately I can't ask him to confirm how it felt.

Ultimately, I'd love to end up getting a nice wheel/pedal set for racing games on my PS4/PC from here on out.. I'm sure I'm not alone on that stance.. Hah

But, for now I will deal with using the DS4 which is comfortable but being a controller, has its limitations over total control.

Yeah, I'm with you on that. I'm looking at getting the T300RS sometime in the next few months - replays look so smooth compared to my use of the controller.

That wheel looks really sweet. I'd like to demo one out to feel the difference, I'm sure its remarkable.

I had similar issues and changed the controller to use the right stick for accel/brake in the same way as GT and I think I'm a bit better now.

It takes a while to learn the tracks and there's so many if you flit about the tour pages like I do!

That's how I used to drive in GT. Brake/Accelerate on the right stick with L2 and R2 for gears. It was great for manual gears, but the biggest two flaws was there was always a gap between braking and accelerating and you couldn't accelerate and brake at the same time.

Since I don't use manual in DC (it doesn't seem worth it), the triggers are great. In this physics engine I have found it very useful to accelerate and brake at the same time and they give me very precise control.

To be fair, though. The triggers could never be used like that on the DualShock 3. They just weren't good enough.
