Do you guys think that DC is counting with the fuel weight? I do Time Trials on the circuits and don't know if I imagining things or weight balance is really moving towards front of the car as laps go on.
It wouldn't surprise me.

Can't wait to get my hands on Japan and the track, great to see photomode additions. Well done Rushy will download tomorrow.

Edit: people reporting the update is 5.7 GB not 3.3, must be a bug.

Reduced drag and speed loss on straight lines is a game-changer for me, hopefully no-more COD kiddies ploughing me off the road when I try to overtake.

Also, in reg. to Driveclub being a very well selling game. I'd say it's also down to the fact the game has barely been full price since release, some very nice offers bringing down by more than half the price recently.

Poor sods don't realize how great a game it's became!

Evolution has just edited that list of improvements to include this:

"* Improvements to the weather visuals, including rainbows and heat haze!
* Makes changes to Drift Mode, to prevent backing up to score more points."

This is like bringing back old memories of GT3! This is possibly one of the best updates yet.

This brings me hope that heat waves will be possible again on GT7. Come on PD, I know you can put it into the game.

Weird thing is, you could see it on certain tracks during replay on GT5, but it never rendered for photomode.

I'm like a little kid at the prospect of rainbows too - that could be a lack of sleep though.

As for the PS4 recalculating though...sorry to debunk what whomever on NeoGaf has suggested. It's just over halfway downloaded as I speak, and it's showing 3.19Gb - so it's the full 5.87. I reckon they forgot to edit an older version of the announcement.

EDIT: Having read through their responses to posts on FB during the past few days, they seem like a happy bunch of kids themselves, all excited about what is to come.

It's insane how much better the game looks without the random crap (flags, crowds, etc) around the track!
I've yet to try that feature, it would explain the Caterham vid with no corner flags - personally, for me I don't mind them, except on the odd occasion that a flag will be in just the wrong spot for a good photo :) still, it's good to have the option.
Wish my PS4 was downloading this in time for me getting home! Knew I should have left it in rest mode!
It didn't take too long for me, so hopefully you'll be up and zooming before you know it.

Actually, there aren't any (or just a few) on the race track even when they are enabled. If I remember correctly, the race tracks have less corner flags than tracks and P2P. Someone please correct me if I am wrong with that.

These new tracks are amazing!

The Japanese racing circuit might just be my new favorite circuit. And the 2nd P2P track might just be my new favorite P2P track, overtaking the lovely Canadian one with the highway and bridge. I can't remember any of these track names :embarrassed:

This is a lot of quality content delivered for free.

You could be right. I do remember the lake circuit in Chile seemed to have a few, but that's an evil track.
It'll take ages for me. My internet speed is poor.
I hope the gods of the internet look kindly on you then and grant you a speed download!

Just drove around the Japanese circuits and I must say, for free content this is great stuff. In a generation of video games where most developers are trying to nickle and dime gamers at every corner it is beyond refreshing to see Evolution giving the fans some fantastic freebies with a lot of effort put in.

It's very important to not charge for tracks/maps. If you do, you divide the multiplayer community. Most companies/publishers don't give a **** about that, so yeah, it's definitely refreshing.

I'll let mine download over night.

Funny coincidence, I've been watching anime the whole day (I'm on holidays, leave me be:dopey:) then next thing I know the Driveclub Japan update comes out. Real funny indeed!

Here are the maps incase anyone wants to see them (pink lines are dead pixel lines):

I noticed that on the pit straight and on other parts of the track on AHR that it used something simular to the NASCAR/Indycar safer barrier:
