Saw this yesterday before going to work, meant to post it but didn't have the time. Maybe ye all know about it...but just in case you don't:

From RUSHY himself @ NeoGAF:

"Replays are looking great and are almost ready, hopefully we'll be able to preview them soon.

Private lobbies are in development but we've still got plenty to do before this is ready."

I just played my first multiplayer time trial and I enjoyed it greatly. Great addition.
How does that work, or more accurately, what does it involve? When I saw it mentioned in the patch notes I though it sounded very similar to a challenge. Unfortunately I haven't had the time since to go and check.

It's a multiplayer time trial session with a time limit. You have 7 to 8 minutes to set your best time and the person with the best time when the timer reaches 0 seconds wins (Note: When the timer reaches 0 seconds, the session is over. You do not get to complete your lap.). Everyone are seen as ghost cars to each other, so no crash party here. Everyone's times are seen in the top right corner and they are updated throughout the session.

.. And if there is dynamic weather you may only have a couple of laps to prove your skills. What an adrenalin rush! A very addictive game mode there, thx Evo!

They are a lot of fun, aren't they? Makes a change from having to avoid kiddies and battle every second of the way. Having said that, I only had two races where it was mayhem, the other five or so were quite respectful.

Also quite bizarre to see you in a race today - shame I couldn't hang about. Japan lends itself well to DC's MP.

Has anyone noticed in the last update if the physics of the handling have changed, It all feels slightly looser on the corners with less grip but could be me on it too much!..Just seeing if anyone knows if they tweaked/adjusted that in the latest update as something feels different to me.

I like what Evolution Studio's put on FB about the tracks in general:

"We did use NASA data and visit all of these roads on reference trips to start with.

We then applied a little creative license, to make the roads more fun and varied to suit the game.

After all, the real roads were designed with speed restrictions and public saftey in mind... not 12x 200mph+ hypercars trying to outperform each other and score points for flashy drifts or insane top speeds :)"

I don't remember where I saw it (probably NeoGAF), but Rushy (the game director) confirmed there were no handling changes in this patch.

Just did a TT at Taapaca and the haze is definitely there - shows what I know, eh?

Will try that, I think I've noticed them in the pre race videos but not when racing.

Does anyone know if there is a way to crank up the volume when using headphones?

What do you mean? Turn up your receiver?
If you've plugged in your headphones into the DS4, you can press and hold the PS button and change the volume under "Adjust Devices", or something like that.

Yeah but still would like it louder, is there anything else I can do?

somebody social please tweet Rushy to add player counts (players waiting in the lobby) for multiplayer in the list of events, I am so tired of joining a lobby then it pops and there's 3 people and one drops immediately and it ends up with just me and another guy where the odds are our lap paces are way different so we all just end up doing a time trial with no competition.

If there was a number of players on the page we could at least pick full or nearly full lobbies to have fun (when the server doesn't decide to have trouble of course, which seems worse since Japan got released)

The Elements tour pack is a perfect example of poor challenge design...

Brilliant to have drift trials/challenges where it's near impossible to reach the top score goal, and the very last race in the last championship where you can't see 🤬. Really pissing me off. The only way I can see anyone staying in 1st for that race for 1.30 minutes, is to be super aggressive early on so you can use the first two laps where you can see a tiny bit. The last 2 laps are impossible.

I don't mind difficulty. I do mind how random the car will behave in wet conditions while I'm expected to score 13.000 plus drift points, or that I'm supposed to stay ahead of the AI in conditions where I literally cannot see the road ahead.

It just feels cheap. Also, the Hennesey Venom time trial makes a reappearence, only this time, you have to do it at night and in wet conditions. Just pure evil.

I HATED that event.. But kinda liked how difficult it was, I managed to get all stars.

I did the final in game career race the other day, and while it was hard, it was intense as hell and ridiculously fun. Even though some of them are incredibly difficult, it actually feels like real racing and not some super programmed boring AI like GT has.

also

Evo pls add DoF to camera movement.
