So, as far as I have seen, no one has signed up for the Mazda race in two weeks time. Let's get some hype people! Let's kick back and have some old fashioned fun :D

First off! Happy New Year's Eve everyone! I hope everyone has been enjoying their holidays so far and had a fantastic Christmas.

So! To get this out there and in the open, our next event is going to go back a few notches in terms of seriousness, and we're going to have some fun!

The next event, which in two weeks time, is a Mazda Cup race, featuring the 1989 Mazda Roadster Cup Car (Mazda Roadster TC), at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca! The event will be split up into two parts of 2h events featuring one driver for each heat, with a short 20 minute QP session prior. All vehicles will be under stock power and weight, with no body modifications allowed.

While we did mention this event once before as an idea, due to the support it had the first time, and the fact we need to enjoy the series again, we're going in full swing with a few occasional fun events from now on.

If you or your team would like to race and enjoy some fun time on the track, remember to sign up by messaging either this post, or any of the stewards directly (or all of us at the same time, if it helps!).
Since it will be run in two stints, would you allow a single driver to partake in both races? :P.
If so and depending on the schedule I would definitely like to partake and race with some familiar names :).

Mazda race!?!? Sounds awesome... I might race, but then again... I need to go out and have a little look at something later today. ;)

So are the other events being pushed back in the schedule?

we will allow single drivers to take place across both stints, yes :)

Is the events from the original schedule running at a later date now? Or is this mini one running in toe...? I actually have a feeling I may have gotten some dates mixed up or something. Gotten quite anxious...

Edit - So just Daytona 24 to worry about this month then... checked the first few posts in the OP.

@Sinyster just one question for the Roadster race.

You said stock power and weight, so does that mean the rest of the settings can be changed?
This is definitely something worth clarifying.

The mention of "no body modifications" gives me an incling... but what my inclination hints to me, and the literal interpretation of that phrase I quoted, are two conflicting answers.

What day and what time is this? I'm interested and might be able to pull this one off.

As I had said earlier, the Mazda events will be run on January 14th (Saturday). All cars will be running with NO modifications (rims, wings, power or weight). Tuning will be allowed with what is available.

As for a definite start time for both events, they are yet to be chosen but for now we have the date, track, and car chosen, which gives everyone plenty of time to test and practice (essentially two weeks!)

I am glad to see interest building here, so let's keep it rolling!

And as for the Daytona 24h event. We believe we will have all of that finalized by the Mazda events, with the announcement afterward 👍

Any thought to have a Safety Car Driver? I don't mind making FCY calls or Green Flag calls ;)

So we may add suspension, drivetrain, and transmission components? Just nothing cosmetic, weight or engine related?

the cars come with customizable suspension and transmission, and downforce, which are allowed to be tuned. No extra parts will be allowed.

A practice room is open in the DRR TES for the Mazda event for a few hours! Come join and practice if you wish!

EDIT - CLOSED

Had I had some decent night's sleep I'd have done a few laps before work. I'm pretty much dead on my feet right now, though. :(

Yeah I probably could have done that, but it was mainly for me and a few who wanted to test some things, so I opened it up for anyone else who happened to be awake.
