DTM - Assigned car league - Sundays 8pm GMT

unlucky hhomes was looking forward to another good fight... you better make it for SPA lol. Flanked to be honest the cars have been fair, some tracks TTR is best, sometimes merc is best n sometimes A4 n Astta are best. for ur group sassa has done well, same with homes same with Ally, but if we put you up to a merc you would dominate, but with A4 ur not fast enough, but each car is allocated to a driver and your one of those in between drivers...

How can it be fair when there people consistently putting in faster laps and finishing higher than me in a faster car! Explain how that is fair Scale?

Edit - Also the A4 is not really the right car for the group it's in because the fastest the car gets is when it's running no extra downforce, this puts it a 611pp.

The people that chose the A4 have chosen a slower car. The people that are eligible for the A4 can also use the Astra. A fast car. Every track is highlighting strengths and weakness for each car and driver. It's not a perfect system dude. But if you look at the lap times across each class, these car are very close. Usually within a second and a half of each other. After that it up to the driver.

couldn't agree more with flank i've ended up with two cars that i dont like and with me aren't fast enough to get higher than 8th
And what was the result of the the investigation into petrols 2nd race

Will and Flanked, if u dont like the system, why do u come to the race meetings eack week? Its just for fun and a bit competition, dont take it so serious... And Flanked, u dont even come to practice so dont expect to be fast, Will you did, but then you gave up in both races...

I will back up what Scale says....look at me this past race, absolutely NO practice and I was hopeless.

Are you for real, seriously?

I come to the races because I like to race with people that are fair, you see me last a lot of the time and I never quit, I still enjoy myself but it comes to a point when you have to ask about the rules when they are clearly unfair. Scale put yourself in my position and answer this question, When you race as fast as you can each week and see the same people finishing ahead of you, going faster than you each lap and then to top it off they have a faster car than you what would you do?

And as for the system you mention, the system is flawed which is why i said about it in the first place.

Also just because I don't come to your practice means absolutely nothing and is none of your business, whenever i am on there rarely any of you guys on GT.

To summarise, you don't run the series so keep out of my business unless it affects you directly.

i come to the races hoping i will do better but I cant.
my fastest time was a 1.19.07 with a slipstream and the cleanest lap i did all week. but it's alright for alot you guys you can spend an hour fiddling and you'll do well.
but i spent 4 hours last week trying to get my car to a level im happy with and i never got there cos a soon as i had a slight bit of wear i was fighting my car and that not fun especially when your the slowest out there: and you know what makes it even worse is this. i do well in testing then crap in the races it happens every time: if im not disconnected, i be driven off the track by some one.
its true i think ive sent complaint to the stewards after every race i have completed
perhaps you ought to put yourself in some else's shoes before making criticism

if you don't believe me look at the points table

Thanks driver for posting results. Fine you 2, i will stay out of your buisness, looks like its up to homes...

May I just say:

I don't know why things are turning a little ugly here, as you all know, we did a massive amount of testing in order to make this series as competitive as possible and also very fair. We tested all the DTM cars available.

Before the sries actually started, all signed up drivers did a fair amount of test races and finally we moved on to a full qualifying shoot out all using the same car to gauge individual ability and performance.

After that, we reduced PP performance on the DTM cars according to all the testing and then allocated a car to a driver according to ability. It is fair, and as you can see it produces fair racing, believe it or not.

Now I dont know why Scale and myself have had better results in the lowest PP DTM, maybe we manage the race better. Some tracks, qualifying has been super close. Its all ability rated. Look at how the CLK's catch up on the TT's on the straights.

Unfortunately, someone entering the series once its started, we dont know how good they are, so the next best thing is to just allocate them the mid range DTM and just see how they go. If a late entry had done all the testing and one make qualifying then they would understand. Will we couldn't allow you in the TT as you wanted because you have fine tuned that car to the max, and would then already have an advantage, and Will seriously, if you could have tuned the TT like you have, you should have no problem tuning the A4.

I personally, have loved this series so far, with only Spa left, its been awesome, and I give massive credit to Homes in taking this concept on, well done.

So please, if you have interest in doing the next series, and we base it again on different PP rating to match driver skill, enter early, and get testing with all of us.

Thanks Driver for posting the results. I will update the points later.

and well said for the above!

Overall I think the series has been great and HAS achieved a nice balance throughout the field. Yes there may me a case for a slight upgrade in PP for 1 or 2 drivers but remember this is the 1st series where we have tried this. If we all participate in good, thorough testing for the next series I'm sure we will take another step closer to perfection.

If you look at the qualifying results compared to the race results, there are a few drivers who can turn in some VERY fast lap times in quali but don't do as well in the race. That is a matter of race management and an upgrade in car is not the answer. That would be like saying "OK, here is a reward for making silly mistakes during the races".

The other thing is that some different cars/drivers do well on different tracks so we have to base any decisions on multiple results.

@Bazzer - I have seen you have some really good laps in quali and practice, and you really are pretty good, just stick with it and if you join in testing for the next series, we will stick you in a car that you are happier with.

@Will - To be honest, we were scared of your pace in pre-season with your TT lol. Same applies for you though in teh next series.

@ everyone - We had so much fun testing the GT300 cars the other night. Please try and stay for some testing after the last race at Spa this week. We seriously need to decide exactly what we are going to do for the next series. I enjoyed the GT300's so much that I would be happy to just do a GT300 series considering the amount of effort to set up and race 2 cars per night, but lets do a vote after sundays race. Everyone happy to do that?

cos i wood be 3rd or 4th now

I would be very interested in this, if registration is still open.

Also, if anyone wants to race DTM's or other touring cars online at any other time, feel free to send me an invite on PSN. 👍

homes remember the closeness of gt500 with out the all pp differences for each group we still all have cars set up so do both
If we are to do gt300 ten do driver pp not cars so every one can get a car they like and so i can get the 06' RX7

@Scale - As soon as you finish 5th or lower (in all 3 parts) at Spa , your result will get dropped so you can't finish with less points than driver if he wins all 3 parts ;)

Thats right.....Well done Scale on winning the championship, very nicely done. Sorry I couldn't mount the ultimate challenge at the end, it's was my own fault.

yer driver, ive never seen you loose your tires like that lol. Lets have a good race at SPA everyone should be fun :) And u never no what could happen i could come 5th or lower in each event....

I know, it was the first race I didn't practice, I normally do a half distance race to gauge the tire wear and then adjust from there. This time I was still setting up during the quick practice before....lol

Still had fun anyway.

as it would appear we doing gt300 may i suggest that we use premiums as there are five cars that means possibly 4 teams of 2 and a team of three
those using the auto gariya ans wed sport lexus would have slightly lower driver pp and those in the cusco slightly higher and Mazda are some where in the middle.
premiums look nicer and are easier to take close ups.
p.s the guest who reading this sign up to gtplanet

@ BYe Ya - You can certainly join us for this last race at Spa on Sunday and you are welcome to join in testing for the new GT300 series ;)
