DTM - Assigned car league - Sundays 8pm GMT

If we want to accomplish anything in this test we have to have some where to start PP wise. Any ideas for a starting point?

When we were testing the other night I think we were at 525pp as the base and it was great fun. More time spent racing the others than fighting the car...

Homes, go ahead and remove me from the list, as I haven't made a race yet.

I see the alien is whippin' everybody's butt again, why am I not surprised...:indiff:

I wish each and every one of you the very best, I had a blast racing with y'all in the last series.

Peace out.

:)

Is there practice on Sunday?

I can't race at the mo as my tv broke so I'm stuck with a tint 17" Samsung, once I be my tv back from the insurance I'll hopefully be able to race/practice with you guys.

In the meantime I might pop in the lobby and watch if that's cool?

Now excuses I played on a 17" fine you just got to sit close

Dude,

Just cause you can doesn't mean I can, I've tried and I find it hard to see everything. I don't want to give a false impression of my driving ability so its better for me just to wait till I get my screen back.

Going from 46" to 17" is not cool.

Haven't put up a time yet. I was hoping to get in some practice with everyone else in a couple hours.

Can anybody help me out? I just went to get some practice and realised i didn't have Spa so downloaded the complete pack for a tenner and i still have no track! I also have no paints outfits cars and x2011!

When i loaded up the game after the download it said something but i forgot now.

After u bought it in the store u need to go to the homescreen of gt5 and push the button on the right of the screen. The red one ;).

I've just finished a mini test session in 4 of the GT300 cars so thought I would share the results.

Track - Tsukuba Circuit, 11 laps, racing soft tyres.

Driving options all the same.

PP 530 on all cars.

Transmission all set to 162.

All 4 cars had a very similar set up with a hard suspension, and all ran exactly the same Aero, Brakes and drivetrain which was a quick 5 minute tune.

All cars were brand new with an oil change and a turbo upgrade, none had the engine upgrade. 3 Premium cars with the Arta Garaiya '03 being the exception as this is a standard although I did perform a Engine refurb and a rigidity refurb on it.

Results, fastest first -

ARTA Garaiya '03 - 10.03.061, fastest 53.4 slowest 55.8.

ARTA Garaiya '08 - 10.04.818 fastest 53.7 slowest 56.4.

Amemiya AsparaDrink RX7 '06 - 10.05.631 fastest 53.8 slowest 55.4.

Weds Sport IS350 '08 - 10.09.410 fastest 54.5 slowest 55.9

CUSCO SUBARU '08 - 10.10.704 fastest 54.5 slowest 56.8

Overall the top 3 cars are very similar with around the same tyre wear, but for me the Subaru is way off the pace the other 3 can hit.

I'll do another test in the week with a longer track and more laps with a pit stop but this was a fun place to start my testing.

I have it set up 90% rear, 10% front. So it is basically a rear wheel drive but that doesn't change the amount of power that is getting to the wheels.

The only thing I found good with this car and my driving style is the stability, very consistent just slightly slower.

agreed but its is only slightly slower however im intrested to see it on longer tracks
the auto gayria is marginally quicker than the others but the wed sport surprised me with it being a MR it would be level with the gayria but its not and i think its all to do with the roll centre
the auto gayria is a perfect tin top race car it low wide and short because of how low the roof is it suffers from little roll the car is all so probably the closest to a 50/50 offside nearside weight split its be cause of this it far superior to the wed sport as that is taller and longer
the rx7 is also quick because of i can corner on average about to 2-3 mph quicker and in some cases more. however because of the type of engine you need to work the gears to keep it it useful rpm range
i know homes was scrubbing too much speed in the corners this i have put down to 2 things firstly driving style i found by doing ALL the braking before the corner and the accelerating trough with a slight lift here and there allowed me to corner faster and secoundly i like to encourage as mush front grip as i can so i soften the springs and control the rolls with arbs
because i have just typed out an essay using my ps3 i deserve to race a rx7 06 in the series
p.s homes are you going to create a n ew thread and name it the rising sun cup 2 or the alll japan world tour

Thanks for an awesome series. One of the best so far IMO ;)

Thanks Bazzer for doing some testing. Very interesting results so far... Hopefully I will be able to do some tomorrow (thursday night).

Thank you Homes for another brilliant championship, I really enjoyed this one, may the next be even better.

👍👍👍👍👍

Yeah I agree, I missed testing and the first race but hopefully will be here for that this time. Brilliant series overall and well played Scale for taking the Championship.
