DTM - Assigned car league - Sundays 8pm GMT

@zuat - You are in the M3 at 620pp bud. Now stop practising TW2012 lol. BTW - I have only just discovered that 'focus' thingie. I have been playing on Tour Pro level without using focus until now. As Homer would say... 'Doh!'

No Nordshceilfe! For the reasons above. Everyone gets separated, one mistake and its all over.
@Will - If you understood why you were appointed the Astra you wouldn't be making things so difficult. I don't understand why you don't just get in the Astra and drive.

@sassa
cos ive got tunes for both audis and homes is offering an audi A4 at 615pp
its more benifical 2 me to use the a4 than it is to use an astra even with homes tune it'll still take while to dial it in for me and by then i would lost the enthusiasm to race
and i understand perfectly why i was given an astra but in testing i still got pole in my TT-R a couple of times its the pp that makes the diffrence

Ok Will. Just making sure we're on the same page. You've refused to use an Astra up to this point, not sure why. Any of the testing information you provided was useless because you've been using the wrong car for 2 weeks. Not sure why you thought that was ok to do. But now you have an out and you can use a car that you want to use. I'm not sure any of us got the pleasure of choosing what car we wanted or testing whatever car we wanted.

Dunno if you South Africans ever heard of him, but...

RIP Carol Shelby.

Dude put the whoop-up on Ferrari back in the sixties. Pretty impressive..

Ofcourse we know who he is. Shelby Mustangs and Cobras are awesome cars.

RIP Mr Shelby...

im getting tired of this its people like you sass that have ruined the game for me and if i get more of this whining towards me i wont play gt5 as this series is the only thing that keeps me playing gt5 due to it being fun and not serious.
.if you dont have anything constructive to say then shut up.
homes has got some useful info and thats 610pp is just right for me and the others in any of the cars

@greest - I think loads of South Africans know the AC Cobra in particular. Especially in Cape Town where they have some of the most scenic driving routes in the world. There are lots of AC Cobras (and replicas) there. I used to do lots cycling there and I always came across groups of tourists driving Cobras (that they hired) on Chapmans Peak (stunning views), and the sound of a group of them driving past in 'the overhang' (http://www.flickr.com/photos/dvdmerwe/134915389/) and the sound of the the exhausts throaty roar reverberating off the roof would always make the hair on the back of my neck stand on end.

Also, I love this car in GT5: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shelby_Series_1.

Very underrated.

RIP Caroll Shelby

Will and Sassa, can u stop having a go at each other please, if will gets in A4 and it is still close thn so be it. And sas i do understand your point of, everyone else did not get to chose car, but ur Astra is working fine, and wills wasnt. As long as racing is Close and Fair its all good. But will in races i feel u need to Calm down a bit, think bout the moves b4 u make thm. AND remember the rule that argueing should not be done in public.

Quite right Scale....... we messed about a little last night and the racing was sooooo close. We are all going to have to be very patient and pick our moments to overtake, if you can't overtake without doing it cleanly then don't do it. All you are doing is ruining his race and yours( cause you will get a penalty)..... and ruining your tires. Be smart :)

Had a busy day today but too tired to race tonight and I have an exam soon so I need to study for which is why I haven't been able to test

Hi Guys,

Wow...what a fantastic start to our much awaited series. I must firstly say a massive thank you to Homes. Your patients in the build up with testing has proved to be worth all the effort.....ok...its is only the first race, but what a race it was.

Seeing Petrol take his first win was classic. Homes was flying. Scale, Canu and myself were all in a massive battle, staying within millimeters of each other. Now throw Rikkos and Zuat in the mix as well, man o man, what a race.

Tires are still a huge gamble, I threw away second in the first race, losing the back end on the last corner, Canu came past at the line. The second race was an absolute dog fight with 4 -5 cars all fighting lap after lap.

Brilliant....thanks to all for driving clean, it just make it so much more enjoyable.

Well done.

From the replay it looks like you guys had some great battles. I came into this race completely unprepared. No medium tires, wrong trans set up, etc. Ugh. I will be ready next week for sure. I posted some pic's from the second race at High Speed Ring to my GT profile.

Thanks guys for an awesome start to the season!

I had some nail-biting races with petrol.

I did some serious fiddling with my transmission and made gears 1 to 3 very, very long and set up 4, 5 and 6 to have minimal difference which more gear changes and better drive out of the corners...

Will update the points later ;)

Thanks boys, last night was a blast. I qam crap with that M#, so might need to change the car to something else. Non the less, was good fun

Now that was worth the wait!! Congrats Petrol and Homes on your wins, absolutely untouchable ;)
We had some great close clean racing in the midfield with everyone in the mix. Us TT boys tried being patient and working together a bit which helped, but everyone was so damn quick we ended up chewing tires.
I spun out a few times in the second race and spun coming into the pits in the first race which kinda put an end to great finishing results, but hey that's racing.
Rikkos you drove like a star dude...... I enjoyed the racing with you, Driver and Scale...... really realistic stuff. Well done guys!

Yer good racing, clean but still touching, FANTASTIC :). There will be no more teamwork from me for the TTs now lol.

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEER, I CAME 8TH ON GT ACADEMY 2012 :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD (4th round in 370z, suzuka) :)

BTW - Well done scale on GT Academy!

Guys...been thinking about the first race, two situations jump out at me.

Formation lap for pole sitter:

The pace on the formation lap will be controlled by the pole sitter and he must please try and drive around half to 75% of race speed. Before each race a certain point on the track will be announced as the point where the pole sitter can accelerate up to race speed at any point he wishes.

This is on the OP, and just to be fair, it wasn't followed and caught a few guys out at the back resulting in them having a very poor start. The first race pole sitter went for it after turn two at full race speed. I think for the rest of the series this has to be followed or its gonna get ugly.

Regarding DC: During race

I think we all agreed online that if a driver gets disconnected during race 1 he may take up pole position for race 2. However if a driver arrives late and misses the first race he will start at the back for race 2.

Regarding DC. During Quali

I think if someone gets disconnected during qualifying he should start at the back of the grid. I think in both situations the DC should be regarded as a mechanical breakdown.

Sorry Homes for butting in, but I feel this needs to be clarified before it gets a little confusing.
