yes something like that! But let's fix the PP on 600 and see what kind of number we can get for each car (BHP's, weight and downforce) Or gather the PP values while increasing the weight so we can determine how to simulate the same steps.

Put me down for the Astra Touring car Team Phoenix car cheers I need a challenge in season V

CLK at 600pp your looking at 483bhp, 1120kg, 35/60DF OR 474bhp, 1120kg, 38/64DF OR 474bhp, 1086kg, 35/60DF.

The only advantage the CLK should have now is the option to add more DF, but if the driver chooses this they will either have less BHP or more weight than other cars so It could work.

Aroung 13Kg = 1PP
" 6-7BHP = 1PP
3Downforce = 1PP

Goruk, another track will take its place. One from the tour that comes 3rd.

PP penalty is something we should look at. Although, 3 different drivers in 3 different cars are going for the championship tonight. Should we mess with something which produces that? I think we should, just puting the question out there.

Ok, so the other team could be to split the Calibra/Astra into 2 teams. So that would be 6 teams of 2 drivers and 4 spaces for a privateers championship. Privateers can use any of the 6 cars in their own team. This is where new drivers who join through the season can fit in and try to gain a place in a main team. Thoughts?

Edit: Is privateers the right word? Its the teams that are not supported by a big manufacter in a touring car championship but i cant think what they are called as a group. I'm sure there is a word out there somewhere for it.

Yeah I think the 600pp thing is worth a try if it has problem's we could teek it or go back to the regs the way they are now.

I would leave the team points the way they are with only the 2 highest scoring drivers getting points for their team seemed to work well I think with the 5 teams

special stage route 7 - seriously ?? lol My track votes have just been for any groups that don't use weather, which means no spa =( I want to do it but not in the wet. I think rain will make for less close racing and therefore will never get my vote, especially with full damage.

What we have to give a little more thought is the following:

The CLK can have more downforce than the other cars. That's why we have the extra regulation of 598 PP as a maximum to force the CLK to reduce their downforce. But as soon as a CLK receives penalty weight (PP gets lowered) you can increase the downforce again and still meet the max PP regulation. This way the CLK has still an advantage.

I'm glad someone has spotted this as I was going to mention it too, needs sorting. The differences in the cars is now more prevalent with more realistic (reduced) slipstream. A slightly slower car before could keep up but now it's more down to pure pace. This is fine but now the slow cars complete races in more time as there's no propping up the speed with tow. This also results in more effective ballast btw.

I'd like to sign up if there's still room...I registered on the site and made my preference for BMW, astra, and the Audi a4

Yes, you can and we received your registration. Welcome! I see you're from Canada. You're aware of the times and days the races are held?

More information to follow soon...

That total screw-up of the starting grid yesterday. Was that a new bug or an incident that will never happen again? (settings were correct and not in reverse order as i mentioned)

If not we also need to think about another qualification format...

Teeds a weather race does not mean a wet race. it is dependent on the real world weather. it gives the chance that during the race there might be rain. More thought would have to go into the tyres you start on. yesterday we trialed it at spa. real world weather ment no rain. just adds a random aspect to races. plus if it does rain then it tests more driver skills. we should all aim to improve. not be happy with status quo.

The tracks i like to run on DTM5

Circuit De Spa-Francorchamps (Weather)
Road Course – Indianapolis
Laguna Seca Raceway
Circuit de la Sarthe 2009 (Time / Weather) Special??
Côte d’Azur
Road Course – Daytona
Autodromo Nazionale Monza (Weather)

I understand what you're saying JT but in my book this not an improvement because the racing will potentially not be so close as now and I myself would tune conditions for yet closer racing. More adverse conditions would indeed require more skill but if it rains will aid to spread any pack further apart. I think the 3 tyre compounds is a great idea each race and plenty testing enough. It would also mean learning 4 tyre compounds for the race, 1 or 3 of which you may never use :ouch:

With the surface water indicator the wet conditions are alot better, you can make a more informed decision about what tires to use and track is normally drivable without wets/inters until over 25% surface water.

Also we should do alot of testing with 600pp idea to make sure cars are more even, would be good to get a few of us in a room to test/compare cars there's no point changing regs if it just makes another car better.

Symp I think it was just the room sometimes that happens the times start going funny, thats why the leaderboard was messed up during the race.

Teeds does have a point but would still be good to test the weather conditions even if it was just 1 race just to see what happens. Also need to think of the new guys joining is it going to be too much for them to take in ? I don't how good of drivers they are will they be able to cope ?. I'm just pointing out we've seen alot of new guys stuggle as soon as they put hard tires on is add rain going to be too much.

I honestly think we shop drop the tire rules and just allow for any tires being used at the stops or maybe just use Softs for qualifying and then change to med or hard next stop I don't really know what you all think?

^ Noooooooooooo, I love the 3 tire compounds It means the fastest won't always win if someone else has planned the race better than them.

To me we still have to use the 3 tire compounds in races with 100% dry.
To wet track was the choice of the pilot, with only one mandatory pit using only the rain, intermediate and the soft tires

and we had to know in advance what the track conditions

If it rains, I think the tyre rule should be thrown out the window like in F1.

me in the 'weather post'
4.1 Surface Water reaches 25%. If this happens at any time during the race then all pit windows, not already fully completed, are no longer required. The pits are open until the end of the race to change to any tyres, at any time, even when surface water returns to less than 25%. You will not have to use all 3 tyre compounds.

25% then no tyre rules.

I can tell you it is a bug that came with 2.0, had it happen in quite a few GTP races so a temporary solution is advised.
