(is it possible to get the Alfa to 600PP?)

I think not, was testing that yesterday and with turbo 3 on 1040kg and 511cv the max PP was 577 if my memory don´t fail me, almost the same with the Calibra, the biggest problem with this two is the lack of torque.

I was testing at Nurburgring GP/F and the Alfa was 1s slower than the astra on 1190kg, so they still not competitive.

So what you think just 600pp? Everything else optional?

We can try that, but it will be a lot more about the right tuning for the track, but on the other end, that's how it works on real life, you have a good car/setup your competitive, you don't and you will struggle...
 
^^ Yes I would say so. Unless someone can think of a winning setup that causes too much of a difference with the real DTM values?

me and teeds have been testing new regs seems CLK is still able to add extra DF by using turbo 3 rather than turbo 2 but it's not that much faster maybe 0.2. TBH I'm out of idea's, if we use 600pp only means weight and BHP will all be different in all cars ie CLK will be on 1000kg and M3 will be 1120kg ect...........

Still havn't had a registration form from Teeds or djdaveyp85. I know they want to race but without a form i dont know what cars they want. I'll have to sort their cars later.
anastasis14, you will be included until both Teeds and djdaveyp85 get back to me. You will be 1st reserve if they both want to race. Dont worry though we always have drop-outs and since you were the only one (shame on you multi-season veterans) who passed the 'Rules and Regs Test', i'm sure there will be a place for you.

I just thank you for accepting me 👍 Anyways, i found this championship fantastic, and i wanted an excuse for my parents to let me play on tuesdays :sly: I'll be waiting if i be a reserve

and this rules and regs test, you mean the "special" input of numbers i had to insert in registration??? :P
 
Just to mention, I had an F1 2011 league that ends at around 20 - 30 past 8 I think so I may be a bit late and miss a few minutes of qualifying each time round.

Indeed. I guess that will be the outcome and I assume that more weight also will have its effect on the tyre wear. So the lighter cars will get an advantage there also. We definitely will need a minimum weight!

Edit: why don't we use min weight and PP ?💡 that way you can chose between power or downforce, with penaltys being in PP, you will have to cut on the power/DF or add weight...

With the penaltys being in PP, if you chose extra downforce, you will have to really cut on the power, and that BMW have massive torque don´t forget that, on the other way if you chose DF and Power you have to add weight, and that spoils everything acceleration, braking, cornering, etc...

With regards to car choice is it illegal to drive the Team Phoenix 00 it's the only vauxhall car I have??
 
I believe not, they are pretty much the same...

I think it's the best option. Was hoping for a less complicated solution (especially for the host). So we do it the other way around and when everybody is on the track after the PP procedure the host has to perform a weight check. So I would say:

- minimum weight 1120kg
- maximum performance of 600PP
- everything else is free

The penalty system can either be:
1st: -4PP
2nd: -3PP
3rd: -2PP
4th: -1PP
or:
1st: -3PP
2nd: -2PP
3rd: -1PP

Because of the maximum possible ballast we had a maximum of 80kg weight penalty. We don't have that with PP's so what we're going to do with that?

3Downforce = 1PP

Anyway thought I say we had some weather races to day and it was like either it rained no stop or it didn't rain at all. I don't know if it was just our luck or what but when the rain came on it just didn't stop. I was ready to start building an Arc and sending goruk off to collect some animals it was that bad........
 
well see what happens in pre season first it may have just been bad luck but I would bring a wetsuit to pre-season just incase. ;)
 
^yep, that was bad, in a one 5 laps race we (well, Green was drinking hot chocolate in the pits wile i was soaking wet) start with less than 60% water on track, by lap 4 it was almost 90%, I just could't drive, maybe because I was on intermediates, or my setup sucks on the wet.

If we go for this it's gonna be like gambling, good setup on dry track, you just can't drive on the wet, setup for rain and you will wear your tires really fast on dry tarmac!
 
Have the positions and teams been selected yet?? I'm going to join the dtm site now. Racing on a Tuesday night suits much better than the old Saturday so this sounds good! Wet races sound.. interesting!

There are more signups than available places but first we'll have to see who of the new drivers will show up tomorrow on the pre-season race. Since we never have had a 100% turnout of all registered drivers the 1st race I advice you to just join tomorrow and who knows...

DTM V - PRE SEASON TESTING - TUESDAY 8th NOVEMBER - 8:30pm GMT

Weather Key - Surface water/Changeability/Weather at Race Start
8pm GMT - Room open from for practice session.

8:30pm GMT - Mini Race 1 - High Speed Ring (Weather - 0%/5/50%) 5 Laps
8:40pm GMT - Mini Race 2 - Monza (Weather - 15%/5/75%) 3 Laps
8:50pm GMT - Mini Race 3 - Suzuka (Weather - 30%/5/100%) 3 Laps

9:00pm GMT - Full Race - Spa-Francorchamps (Weather - 0%/2/25%) Weather updated for tomorrow, and it looks good. Partly cloudy with 20% chance of rain.
Laps: 20 + 1 Formation lap.
Pit windows: 5->8, 13->16.
Full regulations race, pit windows, all 3 tyres, wet race at 25% etc.

Car Regs
- minimum weight 1120kg
- maximum performance of 600PP
- everything else is free
All other tuning up to the drivers.

All new drivers must take part in the Full Race @ Spa (at least) to be sure of there place in DTM V. If you cant make this race then post it here on this forum and arrange a practice session with a veteran. They will then confirm that you know the rules and are a clean driver.

I'll have your cars ready for you at some point tonight. You can use any of the cars during the pre-season testing. If you like a different car after testing then there will be a 3 day swap period. Everyone is free to swap with another driver if you both post messages on the forum saying you agree to the swap. On Friday @ 11pm GTM the swapping stops and that is your car/team for the whole series.
