More good news for Croft:
http://btcc.net/html/generalnews_detail.php?id=3038

Shame Rob didn't run at Oulton as I was looking forward to it, but Will Bratt was suitably decent.

Hope this is the start of progress for RAR.

Rumours still flying about of Turkington making a return in 2013 with an NGTC BMW with WSR (ebay Motors). He says nothing concrete yet but fingers crossed!

Be good to see two NGTC Audi's and is even better to see Rob (hopefully!) having a car which is working! He has had very little luck this year, so hopefully he can score some big points, and get the money needed to run the team 👍

I do hope Colin returns, very mature cool headed character, and Im suprised he left BTCC. As for the NGTC BMW that would be awesome, but if Colin returns I'm guessing that means Tom or Nick goes? Otherwise there would be 4 guys under 1 team, and thats got to cost a lot of money.

Colin didn't really leave, he ran out of money and had offers to do WTCC and STCC.
If he came back, I'd assume that Tom Onslow-Cole would be out but it all depends on money as always.

It would be a shame for any of the current WSR drivers to go as they are all very good. Nick Foster especially is very impressive for someone people would perhaps consider a "gentleman pay driver"!

Hm true, but its good he's thinking about a return drive. 👍

And it would be a shame for one of them to go, but I'd say that Nick would probably go because Tom has some sponsors, Collard is very impressive in the BMW and Colin would bring in some money too I reckon. I don't know how much Nick does bring into the team (money wise) but I think he's looking the weakest, unless he starts to beat Tom

But would still be a shame to lose any of the drivers

Foster will bring the most money in that relationship I'm sure. Otherwise they would have kept Johnny Adam or Steven Kane. But it doesn't count against him at all as I think he does very well, much better than say Chris James, Andy Neate or Alex Macdowall (though he seems to be doing a bit better in WTCC).

Personally I quite like drivers like Nick Foster, David Pinkney, John George, Martin Johnson, etc who turn up and go flat out. True, they are rarely on the pace of the top drivers but they show that you don't have to be slow to be a gentleman driver who brings money. Them being there help drivers like Onslow-Cole or Turkington actually have a team to help them race!

John George was a really a big help in keeping Paul O'Neill in the series!

I hope he does stay next year Nick, with WSR or without because like you say he sets a really good example to all the guys in the BTCC - very clean, but able to be quick and pass people fairly.

Its a shame that sometimes guys who aren't even a bit talented are only there because they have the money, as I don't think Chris James is good - not even able to compare him to Andy Neate and he's not amazing either. But in times like this we have to accept it, but still a shame in my opinion, taking up a place for a quick new talent driver.

I missed Paul O'neill so Im glad he's back this weekend :D

Also Steve Kane left to go to America for the ALMS - and he's done well over there I think. 👍

Think it might be someone like Lea Wood who has it.

Good Luck, holden. Looks amazing mate.

Furi, remind me to wake up for Touring Cars this Sunday.

A massive ups van just turned up with loads of spares for one of the Porsches

Minis are out testing just now and rob Austin just arrived with his 2 cars.

Wish I could say the weather will be anywhere close to being as good as that.

Showers are forecast which will make enjoying the day hard. Still, I will be wrapped up as well as I can be.

On The Weather Channel website it is 'Light Showers' and on The Met Office website it is 'Heavy Showers'. So I really don't know what one to believe.

Still, with your guys to cheer on I am sure the rain won't bother me that much. Who is running in your MINI's btw?

The 3 cars are run by ourselves the drivers are Alex who's the team owner in the black #35 his daughter Emma in the white #25 and a friend George who is racing the red #23 car.

1st test session was dry and the #23 car was 3rd fastest. The second you needed a boat! Again though car 23 was 3rd fastest but we are 3 seconds off the cars that were 1st and 2nd!!! Which is massive and I really would advise a dry suit and wellies this weekend.

Also nearest tesco to get 99 from is 10 miles away!

Nice shots 👍

Are Thorney Motorsport with the Vauxhall Insignia present?

Yes he has. We'll be hanging on to him ;)

He always gets let down by the car, sadly. The Lola just isnt as fast as the HPD-Muscle Milk car. But Kane takes the fight to Lucas Luhr, who isn't exactly a Semi-Pro...

Oh I wish I could keep up with BTCC... GO BMW!

Well timings abit of a joke some cars were showing as doing 1:41 -1:42 but there best laps were still shown as 1:43's with no reason ie exceeding track limits.

Thanks to dynajet for not shouting at us for using their pit box

Steering rack on the #23 car has snapped so sub frames off it to get it fixed for the race

Congrats to George Orr for getting 6th. Third row of the grid and 2nd Newcomer entrant. Commiserations to The Bruce's. Will be hard from the back two rows.
