Austin looking good for a podium, great to see. đź‘Ť

Factory Hondas really struggling here, Shedden had a point.

Great racing action all day đź‘Ť. More than made up for me missing half of the F1 due to picking up my new car.
Great to see Austin finally getting the Audi the results it deserves and some great driving from:
Will Bratt, Andy Neate, Nick Foster, Rob Collard, Tom Onslow-Cole and Jason Plato.

I'm so gutted for Paul O'Neill though - he was racing for a decent top 10 result in both race 1 and 2 but his car failed on him! He was putting that car way higher than Speedworks had ever managed before and with so little practice time! đź‘Ť

Hopefully Rob Austin manages to find some decent sponsors after this weekend and develops the car and keeps Will Bratt! As always I'm wishing Paul O'Neill finds the money to keep going this year - this was only a one-off for Tony Hughes but hopefully someone makes it into a lot more!

Croft is always one of my favourites to watch, it seems to always play into a nice switching track with RWD cars going well in some parts and FWD going well in others. It always manages to produce action even though its narrow and doesn't appear on the face of it to be a good overtaking track. The swtichback technique can work really well here thanks to the tighter sequences of corners and we always seem to get plenty of ballsy overtakes into the Jim Clark esses! Today was no exception - think my favourite was Collard on Foster going two abreast!

Amazing day, first time I've actually been to see a race :D One question, does Frank's car always sound like it has an AK-47 underneath it?

It really does work. Lots of late braking today, though a few "typical" moves -from Neal, notably, but surprisingly Shedden too - but some great racing overall.

Loved seeing some side-by-side stuff towards Sunny, Croft is great for some high-speed action.

It was great to see a classic car race at the end of the ITV4 coverage.

I hope for more of that in the future. Some very interesting cars out there.

First chance to say something since I got back (though I don't know how. The driving rain around Bishop Auckland and Spenymoor on the A1(N) made visibility very hard indeed; though there was still one or two wanksplat's who drove in excess of 80mph)

And all I can say is someone must have been looking down on us because the rain that was forecast just didn't happen. Perfect weather. Warm and sunny but with some dollops of cloud and a little wind to stop us all from getting sunburned.

Where I was at the top of Clervaux nothing really exciting much happened as it all happened elsewhere (apart from Collard's nice spin at the Clervaux/Hawthorn chicane) so I can't really give much on the highlights. But what I do say is I do think Jason was a little selfish in Race 3.
Jason is by far the best and the only gifted driver MG has (and this is from an MG fan) so I think once Jason passed Andy it was only a matter of time before the others overtook him and Andy slipped further down which totally ruined any chances of an MG 1-2. MG don't have double race winners like Honda's Matt Neal and Gordon Shedden. So it is up to Jason to get the wins or help Andy to win. And Jason, being the strongest, should have acted as a defender to stop the others from overtaking Andy and making it an MG 1-2 with Andy winning.
Either that or leave overtaking Andy to the last moments of the last lap where there would not have been the time for Neal, Shedden, Collard, Onslow-Cole and Forster as well as Welch to drop Andy and we would have seen an MG 1-2 but Jason would have still got his win he needed to keep in touch with Neal and Shedden.

Also, to Holden, my commiserations for George Orr. He looked so good for a win. He drove strongly. Shame. Still. Great racing from all the MINI's.

I think that's a little unfair on Neate. He's no Plato, but he's not completely incapable of finishing in high positions. There's just a lot of talented guys out there who fight very hard to get positions, and as we all know in BTCC racing, once one guy gets through with a bit of a shove, you're then at the mercy of a dozen others looking to capitalise.

You perhaps forget that Plato has got where he is after being in the BTCC for 16 years. Matt Neal has been there even longer - might be getting on for two decades now. Even some of the "less experienced" chaps have been in the BTCC for quite a while now.

Neate's day will come, but Croft is not an easy circuit on which to achieve a first victory.

Weather was good for the races, seen all the grey clouds but they all went around the track.

Did you manage to get out of the fields ok in your car. I had to leave during the last touring car race and there was a couple of cars already stuck in the first field.

Some great pictures there Holden đź‘Ť. Looks like most of them were took were I was sat (sunny side out).

I am sure you are correct. Look at James Nash. If you had told me when he made is debut that James would win the Indie title and in the next year be in the WTCC I would not have believed you.

But that is all in the future. Something to look forward to. We have to deal with the here and now and see how good a driver Andy is now before seeing him evolve into a top talent which we saw potential I think of on Sunday.

Is that cloud where the entrance to the circuit is? I saw a similar ominous grey cloud above me at the top of the Clervaux hill where I was when I looked toward the entrance.

Just about. I left same time you did from the same field as you strangely. I was in a navy blue Clio. I did see in front of me someone get out a tow rope.

Yep that was the cloud, picture was taken from sunny out hill, luckily it missed.

There was a silver Passat stuck near the exit in the Hay that they laid down, he was'nt going anywhere when I left.:ouch:

(Sorry off topic)

Its been a good season so far, possibly the best motorsport in the world, love the BTCC :)

Oldish news but quite interesting... Tony Gilham has a new teammate for Snett and Knockhill.

American Holland joins HARD.
The Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship is set to get its first American driver in almost 40 years after Robb Holland signed for Team HARD.

Holland, from Colorado and a front-runner in North AmericaÂ’s SCCA World Challenge touring car series, is expected to contest Snetterton and KnockhillÂ’s BTCC rounds in August.

I read that a bit quick, and thought Tony Gillham's new team mate was called American Holland lol

I'l assume then that Holland is in the Civic and Gilham and Austin are in the Audis leaving Bratt without a seat. Don't know though ...
