Dave Newsham disqualified from race 1 for his car being under weight. What a kick in the teeth after the brilliant job he did!

Sorry plato but what the hell was that, you got overtaken and then you punt Neal off. He should be banned from the sport, it is obvious he can't stand racing with people and will end up injurying someone if he thinks that he can just punt people out of the way.

Both to blame, Neal started it with a bump and then Plato retaliated. Pair of tits the both of them.

I was genuinley hoping that Neal would ram plato's door when he had it open on the inlap. I honestly can't believe plato considers it reasonable to do that.s neal touched plato slightly round the corner, however he was also being pushed himself and I don't believe it was intentional, plato on the other hand intentionally punted him off under braking.

Neal did not hit him on purpose, it was Plato's slower car. Plato did a right jack-@$$ move though.

Plato was within his rights to do that, Neal is a dirty cheat who can only overtake by causing a crash, if you're going to play like that you have to expect payback.

The first lesson you learn in racing is it is NEVER ok to punt someone off intentionally.

I don't believe Neals was intentional however if it was then you are saying that Plato is just to do the same thing back, two wrongs don't make a right, honestly. Neal only gently touched plato. Plato on the other hand completely "forgot" to brake.

EDIT: Even worse plato is making jokes about it in the interview, saying how Neal must want an MG if he keeps trying to get inside it.

EDIT2: They showed the replay again and plato really did hit Neal with some force into the chicane. I'm supprised how calm Neal is. I would be fuming.

Plato and Neal. The 'best' drivers in the BTCC.

Glad my hometown hero Jordan won :D

Neal has been doing it for years, he always "forgets" to brake and pushes the other car out the way to pass but he never gets penalised.

If you're going on what the commentators said then yes although I've seen that move used intentionaly far too much this season by both drivers. "The car in front was slower" is not an excuse to hit it.

It doesn't make Plato's move right or justified but it did punish both drivers. 👍

Regarding Neal and Plato, they are both dirty, Neal says there was a gap, I am sorry but there wasn't, Plato just leaned on Neal.

Good for Wood to be on pole though, wonder if he can make anything happen, Mat Jackson with a chance too in the Focus.

Paul O Neil with the grid girls

That was such a pointless waste of time!

However, some of the grid girls are rather tasty haha, must be tough sitting in the car lookin at those fine behinds!

Neal started it which is often the case, great car control from Plato to get the car back in a straight line again

Serves Neal right that Plato finished in front of him, I say

They have got a bit cocky over the years but the BTCC would be dead on its feet without them to be honest :indiff:

Hope so, that car has really impressed me considering how new it is

That’s a tad naïve, if you seriously think that Neal didn’t touch Plato intentionally. They both drove dirty, but Neal undeniably started that off.

And if roles were reversed, I don’t think Neal would have done anything different.

There simply wasn’t a space for Neal there, despite what he claims. I thought it was terrific action though; all that payback is amusing to watch.

Plato on the other hand completely "forgot" to brake.

In the same way that Neal "forgot" he had a blue car in front of him.

You mean black if your reffering to Plato's car colour lol.

To be honest, the way I see it is, is Plato braked briefly through the right hander, Neal was so close that he didn't have chance to react in time, but took the opportunity and barged through once Plato straightened up. Plato then decided to use his aggressive mentality to get his revenge on Neal.

At the end of the day, Neal shouldn't have forced his eay through after Plato's slide, and Plato should have used his brakes more effectively instead of using Neal's Civic to slow down.

They are as bad as each other when it comes to going up against each other, but at the same time, it wouldn't be the BTCC without it

Horrible bad luck for Lee Wood, he was driving so well, same for Matt Jackson, he was on fire as usual, bit more work on the suspension and he will definately be a threat more often!

Brilliant drive for Dave Newsham though, very well driven I must say!

NEWSHAM!!! Woo. I'm so chuffed he held on for the win. Not to meantion he's from Inverness like me which made it so much sweeter to watch!! :D

History has been made, in the oldest car on the grid... :D BTCC needed a new winner

On the other hand I felt very sorry for Lea Wood, his time will come though

Yawn. Its always the same with Plato and Neal. Both are as bad as each other and I long ago realised its pointless arguing who was right and who was wrong. Both of them are dirty drivers and I never treat any incident between the two as "it was [Neal/Plato]'s fault". Both are at fault for being morons.

But they always entertain and both are very rapid drivers. Just a shame we don't have their tag team buddies Giovanardi and Yvan Muller :P.

Gutted to see Lea Wood retire from race 3, but he at least showed he's capable of a podium if not a win given the right circumstances.

Congrats to Dave Newsham on the great and long overdue win! He should have won back at Brands Hatch!

Amazing driving from Mat Jackson to get that NGTC Focus to 3 top 10 finishes with no testing. I hope for his sake he can have a great 2nd half of the season and a great 2013.

I saw that Robb Holland was having a decent battle at the rear of the field with Hughes, Morgan, Ollie Jackson, Neate and Gilham in race 2. Hopefully he learnt a lot and can go faster and stay on the track more at Knockhill...but then again it is Knockhill!

Weekend to remember:
Shedden (before that turbo penalty anyway).
Mat Jackson - for being awesome in a brand new car with no testing, just got faster and faster.
Frank Wrathall - solid weekend mired a bit with poor starts and the contact with Neal.
Onslow-Cole - solid weekend.
Dave Newsham
Lea Wood
Tony Gilham - showing some decent pace in the Insignia considering Thorne himself was so far off the pace with it.
Andrew Jordan - solid weekend a much needed win this year.

Weekend to forget:
Adam Morgan - Really could have done a lot with the pace he had but he lost it all in lap 1 of race 1 and then the contact with Holland.
Robb Holland - A debut catching the camera for the wrong reasons. But at least it shows the quality (or the roughness!) of the current BTCC field.
Matt Neal - Messy weekend.
Dan Welch - Same as Morgan, could have gone much better.
Rob Austin - Supporting this guy is like supporting Kobayashi. He can pull off a race win I'm sure if he gets the chance but bad luck and reliability trouble always hold him back! He's always somewhere in the field overtaking people and sliding the car around the corners. But then it always seems to give up the ghost and he's constantly struggling for money!

Just take into consideration that Thorney have completely rebuilt the Insignia since their poor start to the season. Wait till we see John Thorne driving it again and see how he gets on, to be fair, Thorne is a very good driver, and has proven himself in other championships outside of the BTCC, Thorney Motorsport is also a well respected tuning company for the VX220, and more recebtly the VXR range I think..... He does know how to race, I promise you that ;-) what went wrong at the start of the season is anybodies guess though.......

Best of luck to him and the team for the rest of the season though!
