I believe ES Racing bought it but haven't bothered to change its colours. Its been knocking about quite a while now since Rob Austin had it for a bit last year.
I've become pretty used to seeing it in the paddock now that I don't even register it anymore haha.

Bit harsh?

I think they were only comparing the sports to the BTCC and how the Btcc is doing better. Its hardly off topic

I don't really remember someone really talked mainly about WTCC here but someone did about DTM and I think what daan did was right and nothing harsh. We have a thread for it and it should all go there as you obviously know, this thread is specifically for BTCC ;)

Now back on topic. I just realised something. I saw Dan Welch Proton being towed away from the circuit in Race 1 from last weekend's race but only now realising that they weren't even in Race 2 and 3. I heard that on Saturday he had a driveshaft problem but was it the same thing that haunted him for Sunday too?

Drive shaft eventually put a hole in the gearbox. Guessing they didn't have a spare for the race.

That's a shame... I was interested in seeing what that Proton can do in this sort of circuit because it's no slouch.

Pictures from a very wet and windy Thruxton are here. I'm still feeling my way around flickr and haven't worked out how to embed images yet, so for now you'll just have to click the link.

Great pics 👍

I don't think yours will embed - you must have clicked a setting somewhere that disallows it. Normally it's under "Share".

You just click on share, then select grab the html/bbcode, select the bbcode button, and chose your size. Then just copy'n'paste the text into a post.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned this yet as I'm sure many BTCC fans would be pleased to hear we finally have a new game to play!

I haven't tried iRacing yet so this news only encourages me further to try it one day. Not to mention it already features Brands Hatch, Silverstone and Oulton Park (and soon Donington Park)!

I still wish Codemasters or someone would finally make a new BTCC game though. I keep imagining F1 2010/2011 with BTCC teams/tracks/cars instead.

Still lacking a game which features Knockhill though, I don't think I've played one since ToCA 1 on the PS1 and I don't think I've played one with Oulton Park since ToCA Racer Driver 3.

I tried iRacing for a while but if you want the decent cars and tracks, even if you want to run a full season of something other than an MX-5 or a low powered stock car, it costs a fortune. It's qaulity software but just not feasible financially for a teenager like myself :(

Likely to get back into it in a couple of years when I have a job.

:ouch:

I got a horrible feeling the next Nascar game by Eutechnyx may be PC only with the way the IndyCar and now Touring Car franchises are going. Slightly disappointing for console players.

The BTCC won't be exclusive I imagine since iRacing is spec they won't want every single car, if someone wants to make a game, they still will. I sincerely hope they do, TOCA 2 was a blast on the PS1. IndyCar announcement was a bit disappointing but the software doesn't look too demanding so my PC might handle it.

Race 3 is going to be broadcast online rather than on ITV4 due to a clash with the live tennis.

Wha?! I feel very sorry for the people with no internet. :(

People should be going to the track rather than sitting behind the telly anyway! This is by far one of the best tracks on the calendar for spectators.

Also, bad news for Rob Austin:

RAR
News for this weekend at Oulton Park.
Rob Austin will sit out this round due to damage sustained at Thruxton and a Lack of parts. However single seater racer Will Bratt will race the other second RAR Audi.
With the engine problems that have destroyed the last two meetings for the team cured and new engines we fully expect Will to display the true pace of the Audi which has not yet been seen this season due to a cautious run at Brands and engine issues. Whilst we are sad not to have Rob out as well, he is still searching for Sponsorship and we expect to have a pair of Audis out at Croft!

It's good but you need a massive camera lense!! We were there with the minis last weekend and I had to borrow a 400 as my 200 was too short and the hotel we stayed at built rally cars! They were working on an s2k power mk1 escort.

Still looking forward to 4 days at croft in 2 weeks!

It's a shame for Rob Austin but hopefully his absence will mean that he can secure something for his team. RAR really needs a turnaround after an impressive show at Rockingham last year.

Plato-Neal-Collard-Andrew Jordan is tomorrows top 4. However, not plain sailing today in damp conditions..
