Huge race 3 crash, Plato flipped, Honda involved, Newsham as well. All drivers ok though.

Newsham was mugged off the line, and that crash was the topping for his turd sandwich of a race.

Did I just hear commentary say "he's like an allergic penguin in a fish store??"

Ok Bratt I think yeah.

Neals mad "bunch of idiots given more boost"...

Turks get spun out of the lead twice in one day. :( He could've been right up there in the championship.

Once again another cracking raceday for spectators. However I can't help feel myself that because of protection the drivers have in the cars they arn't afraid to literally push people off the track. I feel that this detracts from it slightly as no matter how well you are defending from someone they may just push you off. I'm fine with gentle taps and putting pressure on people however as has happened a couple of times today where people have pushed someone else off and then just gone "Well it was a mistake", in open wheel motorsport you see lots less of this actual pushing simply because they will damage their car, I don't see most of it as "mistakes", it really just is dirty racing.

I'm probably bias as I race karts in which there is a different attitude to contact, however that's my view.

Saying that however it brilliant to watch.

That was fun. I was worried the MG's would pull away, so glad they could only get race 1 in. I am the biggest Honda fan ever, but Shedden's move was wrong. Turkington deserved race 2 and 3, and it was good to see Motorbase get their act together.

Today was a bit exceptional in fairness.

It's sad that we've had 5 meetings in the first half of the season full of clean, fair racing, but it's the meetings like this, and Donington a couple of years ago, that people remember. It happens once or twice a year and it needs ironing out if people are going to start taking the BTCC seriously again.

Having said that I hope that it never goes too far the other way and turns into a sanitised corporate event like WTCC or DTM.

One thing especially that I like about Turkington, you won't really see him take part in any of the argy bargy, unsporting stuff.

You know for a second there I almost thought you were being serious  I mean yeah it's not like he's ever rammed into someone then completely cut a corner to win a race ;)

Oh wait.......

When was that? :s

I've just read on the net, Donington 2006?

I stopped watching between 2004 and 2008 so I don't know.

"He's as happy as a penguin with a fish allergy."

Race 2 showed why BTCC can be brilliant. Race 3 showed why it's generally a punchline in some really crap motorsport joke.

Well you can't say that Colin is clean if you didn't watch 99% of his BTCC career

Ok, from what I've seen from he year before he one the championship, and his title year and now this year, I'd say he's clean. He's a damn site better than most of them.

It's just a shame how younger drivers like Jordan, Jackson etc. have ended up just as bad As Plato, Neal etc.

Shows what happens when you have a bad role model. Only way it could get worse would be If Yvan Muller came back.

Even the cleanest drivers can have off weekends, for ages Frank Wrathall was squeaky clean but then he had his dirtiest weekend ever to start this season.

I'd say the cleanest drivers on the grid are;
Turkington, Tordoff, Onslow-Cole, Newsham, Wrathall, Welch and Wood.

While some of them have had incidents in the past, generally you can trust them not to use typical barging techniques to win races every weekend.
I'd probably say Lea Wood is by far the cleanest out there as I can't think of a single time he has made a dirty move, although admittedly he has very rarely been able to fight for a podium or win that brings out the dirty tactics.

Watched race 3 today, I don't usually watch the BTCC, and what I saw was just carnage, the first lap 2 separate incidents. Then what happened with Shedden and Turkington was poor by Shedden, thinking that he was going to overtake from that far back behind the BMW.

I was at Snetterton yesterday and what I saw was Turkington getting rammed off the road by the Honda drivers at every opportunity, no surprise there. They're dirty drivers and have been allowed to get away with it for far too long now.

Someone's not a Honda fan:lol:
But seriously, the whole thing started with Plato blocking Smith in qualifying, if actions were taken at the time then we wouldn't have had that (exciting) mess of a weekend.

So was I and I agree. I have no idea what's happened at Honda but the drivers have developed a 'win at any cost' attitude. Up until this season I liked Flash and Andrew Jordan for being nice guys but this season they've become overly aggressive for places. I'll carry on rooting for the small budget teams that are the backbone of the BTCC. Come on Rob Austin, Team HARD and all the other little guys 👍

It's not just Honda, Plato is just as bad and I worry Tordoff can go the same way.

And on another note. I find it hilarious in autosport that Neate says his target is the podium in his Cruze. Last year he could only usually manage to just break into the top 15 while Plato was winning races in an identical car. Guess his new car must ten times better than anything else on the grid if he thinks HE can get on the podium.
