Forgive me for saying this, but the Cruze seems to be in a very low-tech garage.

In answer to the questions about the Cruze...

The BTC Racing car is a hatchback. It's the car that RML started work on prior to their BTCC programme being shelved last year, so there was a shell there which BTC purchased. That was instead of their original plan, which had been to build an NGTC BMW as the team has run a GT4 BMW in Europe for the past few years.

The Neate car is a new car based on the saloon and has been produced for IP Tech - it wasn't already started. RML did some of the initial shell work for the team but they are now building up the car themselves.

No problem - of course there could also be Joe Girling's S2000 car with the turbo engine, so you could have three different spec Cruze models on the grid with three different engines in them.

Agreed. Now if I am right isn't Andrew Morgans Cicely Racing Toyota an older car, an old shape Avensis, from 2011? I heard it was an Ex-Wrathall car, and I don't think Wrathall would sell his current one...

Right - on that score...

Dynojet built a new car for Wrathall for last season so the car they have sold to Morgan and Ciceley is the one he raced back in 2011.

My understanding is that it will have been updated to the same spec as the other Toyotas for the new season with the new facelifted front end (in the way the Tony Hughes car got a facelift last year).

Indeed - good option for someone who wants to get on the grid in an S2000 car. Don't be shocked if you see at least one of those on the grid.

Getting the tail out on a race car in the middle of a race is worth 1000 wins. 👍

Although I like front and rear drive touring cars equally really, both are spectacular to watch in their own way.

Does not surprise me. OK, it is hard for drivers to consistently get together the funds to continue, but if they can then they stand to gain a lot more over time than they lose. For me Team Dynamics prove what can happen if you can secure another season with the same two drivers. Neal and Shedden have developed such a strong understanding since they first got together as a pairing at TD in about 2005 because they have spent so much time testing together that they both have grown as talents in terms of their key strengths. The car has to be strong and the team has to be well-run but allowing two drivers to bond as a duo is so crucial.

That is why I would love to see more teams follow their example. That is the only way to beat Team Dynamics.

That's not completely true as in that time frame td had dumped sheddon and neal went to race for vauxhall.

You would have to have been on The Moon not to know that. But they went back to pairing them up. So when they got back together they had experience of each other within the team set-up even though they had time apart.

I'd rather have a team of fast drivers who have never worked with each other before than a team of drivers who have worked with each other for years.

The reason the other teams are not as close recently is because Honda have the biggest budget. 888, WSR and Motorbase should be closer this year and two of them have improved driver line-ups.
