So no surprise that PS4 wasn't revealed, which means E3 2013 at the earliest and probably holiday 2014 release. Which still does leave plenty of time for a PS3 GT6.

I think it is actually good nothing about GT6 was announced. That means that it is more likely to fall on the PS4.

I personally didn't expect anything new, GT5 has been pretty absent from E3 press conferences in the last couple years unlike it's strong showing before hand. But...

My biggest surprise that no GT footage was even in the usual opening playstation experience montages, I think that was a first. If it wasn't for the GT5 logo being shown in the first party developer splash screen (GT5 logo and not PD logo?) it would have been like Gran Turismo doesn't even exist, kinda strange for Sonys number 1 selling exclusive franchise.

I think it is actually good nothing about GT6 was announced. That means that it is more likely to fall on the PS4.

I am not going to write a magnum opus on why it is a good idea... but just trust me, it is a good idea.

Ps4 is heavily rumoured for winter 2013 - and long overdue imo- so without any hint
of a Ps3 Gt6 reveal at E3, I think it's safe to assume that it's a Ps4 game.
Hope it rocks, series needs to shine again.

I can give you reasons it's a bad idea if you like? Like having to wait another four+ years for it after GT5 being the worst.

Agreed, I'm not waiting for something that long either. I got stuff in life I gotta do so no I ain't waiting for something to get revealed for JUST a system which will come who knows how long it'll show.

They don't want to harm their Ps3 2013 holiday sales by announcing Ps4 already. It's known that developers are working with xbox 720 dev kits already, and thatSony 1st party studios like Guerilla are working on next Gen stuff already. Gt6 on Ps3 is HIGHLY unlikely. and I think that's a really good thing.

Let me counter that. We waited for GT5 and look how that turned out. The PS3 CANNOT handle Kaz's vision for GT. Plain and simple. No if, ands or buts. It cannot.

What can PS4 do to solve the problem? And why will it not take as long for a new GT to come out on the PS4? Well lets start with the fact that it will be far easier to develop for. PD will have 220+ cars already modeled. Plenty of track data (IE not the models but the data needed to make new models). I am also going to assume the physics will be an updated version of what we have now, just updated to run on the new hardware.

But why not do that on the PS3? Why spend all that time developing a new game when you can just improve GT5. Look at GT5's problems that are not graphical or performance related. Sounds, content and career. Out of those 3 content is easily the most important and can be added through future DLC or in the form of Spec III. Any time PD spend developing a new GT for PS3 will just delay GT on the PS4. And GT on the PS4 will actually be able to fulfill Kaz's vision. Which is the most comprehensive and realist racing simulation game. Which is really what we are all waiting for.

Waiting for the next GT is a fact of life. Accept it. Every since GT2 we have been waiting. This will not change. And changing it now will certainly not produce a better result.

GT6 will launch between launch and 1 year of the PS4.

I will NOT purchase another console in order to play the next iteration of this game. I don't plan on spending a fortune to be disappointed again. You can plan on issues with a next gen console's first year anyway, so anyone deciding to make that plunge might want to think twice.

^ Exactly, and what makes it worse is that PD doesn't even do dev logs to let their fans know what to expect. I think I'll give SMS a chance since they actually want people to see the hard work their putting in. Rather then how KY's racing exploits along with his other drivers are going.

Now that I think about it, seeing possible GT5 footage in the intro doesn't prove much. There was definitely Portal footage in there too. How strange.
