I think it's expected after what Kaz said before GT6's launch. The game will eventually evolve into GT7 or come somewhere halfway, and with their new flexible rendering engine being expandable, they're not looking to rewrite everything from scratch, either in graphics or physics. They've already had next-gen in mind with GT6 as they were developing the game. I'll take a revamped GT6 PS4 with new extra content/upgrades as GT7P instead of paying for another demo with only a few select cars and a couple of tracks. If the rumor is true then they're just adding the GT7P content and upgrades to GT6 instead of it being a standalone demo.

It seems many have already forgotten about this...

Kaz
“I am very pleased with everything about the new game and new additions, but the launch will be only the beginning for GT6”, said Yamauchi. “The game will continue to develop throughout its life. I already have many ideas for things I want to achieve in the next 15 years of Gran Turismo.
“We’re pleased to deliver GT6 to PlayStation 3 as we have a very loyal community on that platform,” said Yamauchi. “However, we have refactored the game to make it very flexible and expandable, with a view to making many future developments.”

I don't see this as a bad thing IF there are actual physics and engine upgrades tailored specially for the PS4 and not just a direct GT6 port with more tracks. The rumored release being so late into 2015 leads me to believe it's much more of an upgrade than just a straight GT6 port.

That is probably total BS, just like previous years.

I see little point to revive Heavenly Sword since it was a total commercial flop and Sony had always God of War to fill that segment on it's library.

Last guardian coming for the end of this year, highly doubt it, Sony would make a complete fanfare leading to it and to this time nothing has been show.

And then people will get all delusional about GT7 or whatever, only a year has passed since the last instalment (not even a year), and it would be pretty stupid from Sony's part to an announce a new game or even compete with all that is coming out later this year, as it would be equally stupid to remaster GT6 on the PS4 while some of it's stuff is being and it will be implemented, same for a tech demo of it since they showcase that in the GT Academy rounds, they probably will struggle to get such a port running by 2015, probably for GT Academy.

Let the stupid hype machine begin with credulous people just eating everything trolls can throw at them and then be underwhelmed by what it will be actually shown.

(copy paste because I didn't though the last thread would be locked)

One thing is for sure, the current GT6 on the PS4 with all required support would look astounding. But you can tell the current hardware is struggling to process the current game. This game on the new console would be a revelation in sight and feel (IMO). However, without the features promised and all premium cars it would be a colossal rip off.

Looks fake to me, it's written as if it was intended to be seen by the public. If It's not fake then I'l eat a cake, win win situation for me.

I hope it's fake, I bought 6 a bit more than a month ago. Also theres no DLC for GT6, so I doubt PD is stupid enough to make PS4 version so fast. Either way I'll wait for E3 to see for sure.

Don't believe everything you read on the internet, especially from Dualshockers.

Will GT7 / Prologue come to PS4 before or in late 2015? Sure, why not.
But the report is just fanfiction.

It's not "fake" perse, it's exactly what it says it is in the OP. An unconfirmed rumour from a single source, no corroboration. Not a press release, not talking to a room full of PD/Sony employees, but a single, solitary person.

Somehow I read this as
"M3 E46 rumor GT6 coming to PS4...."

But anyways...

This is sad. Very. Sad. I can only hope for another interview with @Jordan and Kaz coming soon, to address multiple questions lingering, as it is taking a toll on the gaming side of me and patience in general. It's also sad to see so many of my friends quit GT and my league because how poor GT is... I am not sure if I will support their disclosed actions unaware to the public, but when I do see content (ie Senna upcoming) appealing I will gladly help out the series in any way possible..

However, PD needs a bit of motivation. I don't know what photorealistic world they are living in, but the game they make portrays nothing of the world I live in. So many features which would make the game that much better, like the new Michelin time scoring board at Le Mans actually working, full weather//time control... Little things, that should add up which are not.

They have the foundation, but are building larger and more obscene materials on top of each other..

How many upside down pyramids do you see out there? Not many...

Nobody said they would do so. I was replying to the question why it wouldn't be good to do so.
Going back and reading over the thread, I don't really see where that balloon has flown, but fair enough.

Stupid or not, the fanbase has been clamoring for Gran Turismo on PS4 since the system's announcement. And we haven't stopped.

I'm with Jump Ace, but a little higher. ;) I'm tired of night races with all of two cars with headlights casting beams down the road. And rotten shadowmaps glitching every second or so. And wonky particle effects. And no damage to cars or tracks either one. And no Race Mod or Livery Editor. And awkward bot A.I. And no league style racing. And tracks lacking weather and time of day transitions. And no Event Maker. And everyone's favorite, cars that sound like angry mice or something, and no Leaderboards and an extremely basic online build and so on and so forth.

A whole host of shortcomings can be dealt with by throwing a system at them that's way bigger, much beefier and far easier to code for. Not to mention the pixie dust that can liven up every area of the game thanks to PS4. Worlds can be more alive. New stuff can happen. Those race track score boards can come to life. Who knows what can happen?

I was ready for PS4 and GT7 two years ago, so my appetite is whetted.

Yeah! Why settle for GT6 with its largely-not-related-to-being-on-PS3 shortcomings when they can make it a PS4 game and then still not do any of those things besides make it prettier!

Reworking all the code for PS4 wont get those glitches away.

Heck even reworking the whole code to work from 6 cores to a single core architecture is going to be a pain in the neck for whoever writes that at PD. They would probably have to rework everything from scratch, ND took like 8 months reworking the most of the UI for Last of Us remastered Edition, DriveClub was delayed for similar reasons, there is no way they can proceed to that and the work on the next thing while also having pending features for GT6 itself.

I rather have them to god damn complete GT6 and everything they advertised at some point this year rather than the stupid hype machine of making or announcing a prologue, to end up as broken as GT5 was.

Publishers are not that stupid anymore, EA is abstaining itself from producing NFS games for this year due to the release of Ubisoft's The Crew and There will be games like the new Grid and P-cars, which are way ahead of any alpha or beta stage that and who's marketing campaign has gotten further away.

I own both the PS3 and the PS4, and I rather have Sony and PD FINISH with GT6 on the PS3 rather than start some nonsense for the PS4, The Crew and P-Cars are only my list of thing to acquire, which along with DriveClub fill my list of games that I'll purchase by the end of this year, driving game wise (and by what I can tell, is a trend that will follow for most people who have PS4 consoles and PCs alike).

Agreed 100%👍👍. People who think that somehow when the next GT is on PS4 all or even most of the real issues with the game will be resolved are deluding themselves. The majority of things we talk about on GTP are not related to the limitations of the PS3. PS4 doesn't fix the archaic online setup we have now. Doesn't fix the archaic Career Mode. Doesn't fix the game economy. Doesn't (necessarily) eliminate the standard cars. Doesn't fix the camber issue, backwards ride height or the pit bug. Doesn't generate automatic DLC or make PD stick to any of their promises.

None of those issues (and many more) require a PS4 to be fixed.

I don't get why everyone is complaining about GT6 coming to PS4. I specifically remember everyone complaining about PD putting it on the PS3. I get that there is a bunch of things to complain about but this? Really? I honestly don't get it...
Really? Because I remember this:

POLL: Happy or unhappy with GT6 going on PS3?

88% of respondents said they were happy it was on PS3 or didn't care as long as it was good. Only 12% wanted it on PS4.
